Did you get a chance to watch one of my recent videos (released earlier this month!) titled How to Make Swimmer’s Ear Drops?! To celebrate the launch of this video, 3 lucky Hip2Save readers will each win a $100 Gift Card!

If you are interested in entering this giveaway, sponsored by Hip2Save, head over to Hip2Save’s YouTube Page (or click on the video module below), watch the “How to Make Swimmer’s Ear Drops” video and then click on the giveaway entry link found in the video. Note that to locate the giveaway link within the video itself, you cannot watch the video on a Mobile Device. Also note that you must have your annotations turned ON in order to view the giveaway link within the video (if your annotations are turned off, just click on the text box image underneath and towards the right of the Video image).

This giveaway will end on Monday, July 29th, at 11:59PM EST, and the randomly selected winners will be announced later in the week.

Take some time to explore Hip2Save’s newly updated YouTube Page. Great video. We have always used 100% rubbing alcohol and we put it into an old nasal spray bottle. Then I let my girls decorate the bottle so we NEVER mistake it for nasal spray. My parents used this for me growing up and I never had any problems and had to use special drops for my sister while she had tubes. DO NOT use rubbing alcohol at all if you have tubes in your ears. The doctor will have to give special drops for that.

This is great to know. Thank you.

  • Tricia says:

Do not use rubbing alcohol if you have ear tubes or if you had them in the past. Unfortunately for my daughter, I learned this the hard way! Thank you Collin and crew! I love this site!

  • Lucy says:

There’s also great savings in making your own cleaning supplies. They’re mostly vinegar and water 😃

  • Tiffany says:

Couldn’t find the link either! I just want you to know I paid 25.00 for a prescription for swim ear ugh!

I teach swim lessons. On the swim team I always used, and recommend to the mother’s of my swim students to use hydrogen peroxide. It is if the wax is holding the water in. Just drip drop from a soaked cotton ball. Does anyone know if that is no longer recommended?

    • Kate says:

Don’t use full strength hydrogen peroxide in ears, cuts or anything skin. It may be fun to see bubbles, but what it is doing is destroying your healthy tissues. If you need to use hydrogen peroxide, dilute it by at least 50% with tap water.
