Great video. We have always used 100% rubbing alcohol and we put it into an old nasal spray bottle. Then I let my girls decorate the bottle so we NEVER mistake it for nasal spray. My parents used this for me growing up and I never had any problems and had to use special drops for my sister while she had tubes. DO NOT use rubbing alcohol at all if you have tubes in your ears. The doctor will have to give special drops for that.

This is great to know. Thank you.

  7. Tricia

Do not use rubbing alcohol if you have ear tubes or if you had them in the past. Unfortunately for my daughter, I learned this the hard way! Thank you Collin and crew! I love this site!

There’s also great savings in making your own cleaning supplies. They’re mostly vinegar and water 😃

I teach swim lessons. On the swim team I always used, and recommend to the mother’s of my swim students to use hydrogen peroxide. It is if the wax is holding the water in. Just drip drop from a soaked cotton ball. Does anyone know if that is no longer recommended?

    • Kate

Don’t use full strength hydrogen peroxide in ears, cuts or anything skin. It may be fun to see bubbles, but what it is doing is destroying your healthy tissues. If you need to use hydrogen peroxide, dilute it by at least 50% with tap water.
