The moon and star together are the sign of the Muslim faith. There is nothing wrong with it of course, but just letting you know that it might be interpreted as a sign of faith ( just as a pendant with a cross would signify the Christian faith).
That’s very interesting–I didn’t realize that.
I believe you could say that, but the Islamic symbol for the moon and star is quite different from that, and I believe this quote actually comes from the children’s book “Guess how much I love you,” by Sam McBrantney, a well know children’s book and Christian author, that has a line of stuffed animals, jewelry, and Christian-themed items which sale at Hallmark stores.
Just to share… “Guess How Much I Love You” was written in 1994, but I remember hearing it long before then, as a child of the 70’s & 80’s. So I think it was a common saying long before McBratney popularized it in his book. Not that it really matters, but just saying that I don’t think there is any religious affiliation with the quote, “I love you to the moon and back.” It’s just an old saying.
I just remember seeing a stuffed rabbit wearing the same necklace at Hallmark. 🙂
