Macy’s: *HOT* Denim Event (Get $10 off a Future Purchase w/ Jeans Purchase – Including Clearance!)

12:58 PM MST
The links in the post below may be affiliate links. Read the full disclosure.

Earlier this week, I told you about the *HOT* Macy’s Denim Event going on, but thought it was definitely worth reposting for those of you who may have missed it. Through 9/2, for every pair of jeans you purchase at Macy’s, you will score a coupon valid for $10 off a future purchase of $10 or more at checkout (exclusions apply so make sure to read the fine print)! These $10 coupons are available to redeem through 9/8.

Even sweeter, you can use the additional 20% off Savings Pass found here on your initial purchase to save even more! Earlier today, my sidekick was able to find a cute pair of Jean Shorts on sale for $6.99 and paid only $5.59 after using the 20% off coupon found here. Plus, after checking out she received the $10 off a $10 purchase coupon. Woohoo!

*Keep in mind that the 20% off Savings Pass cannot be combined with any other coupons, so you won’t be able to use it in conjunction with the $10 off a $10 purchase coupon.

Be sure to come back to let us know about the great deals you score!

(Thanks for the reminder, Nana!)

just did this today. the 20% automatically came off and paid $3.48 each for 2 toddler white capris and 1 white denim short. got back $30!!!

  • J says:

Can you use the $10 coupons together (ex. could I Lea use the coupon to purchase one $30 item) or do you have to buy 3 $10 items??

  • mindy says:

Just came back from Macy’s. Got bunch of shorts for my daughter & I and only cost $1.98 each out of pocket. I bought 2 pairs of short @ a time $6.98 each and the cashier right away gave me 2 $10 coupons and he even asked if I wanted to apply 1 of the $10 coupon toward the purchase! So I paid $4.98 and had 1 coupon left. I kept doing it for 5 transactions! Now my daughter has enough short for the next few years and I still have 5 or 6 coupons left.

  • Irene says:

This might sound like a stupid question but do you just print the page and show it to the cashier for the 20% off?

  • linda says:

you can do that, or you can just pull up the page on your phone and show it to the cashier..that way you dont need to waste any ink

  • deb says:

I just went there and bought a pair of jeans, I didn’t get a 10 dollar off coupon. I wonder why??

  • Astrid says:

Spent $32 oop and have $50 left in the $10 savings passes.
Got 9 items and 1 box of chocolate pretzels for my son, he was being so patient.
It works out to a little over $3 an item. not bad considering each item had a regular price of $25 to $40 each and I still have $50 to spend.
    Love the Denim Event

  • Melissa says:

Im confused Collin, the link for the 20% off is stating only valid sunday sept 1 and Monday sept 2? Can you explain.

  • Peg says:

I’m confused because the ad says it excludes clearance, but seems people are getting the $10 on clearance too? I hope so! I so want to find these deals! My daughter needs jeans!

    • LisaD says:

For Macy’s I have noticed you have what is considered a “clearance” rack and then they have the racks that might just have a % off. Mine were on the % off rack where you can still find some GREAT deals. Mine were regular $69.90 marked all the way down to $12.16.

    • Kara says:

The associates were told at both stores I went to yesterday that it INCLUDED clearance. I looked online and it said excludes clearance and kids jeans, but the signs were placed everywhere (in store). It seems the store was given different rules. I’m wondering if it’s because they are trying to clear the jean short stock?

  • LisaD says:

Got mine!!! Bought a pair of DKNY SOHO Skinny Jeans – regular $69.50 for $10.63 after using the 20% off coupon and taxes. Then received a $10 savings card. Not bad for a designer pair of white jeans for .63 cents! Whoo hooo!

  • Sandy says:

Got a Levi’s jean shorts for my daughter $3.48. Received $10 savings card! Used it to buy 4 Carter’s baby outfits – clearance $2.48. Paid $1!

    • Trinity says:

So they can adjust the coupon down? If I only have 9.99 will they still take the $10 coupon?

      • Kara says:

They can’t adjust it down. The lady tried for me :( would have made things a bit easier for me since they had a ton for $9.99 but I didn’t want to spend $2.50 on top of the coupon.

  • Natalie says:

Our Macy’s had several racks of baby clothes on sale for $4.97 and an extra 50% off and many of them were outfits. So I ended up getting 10 outfits and 2 pairs if denim shorts ($1.99 each and then got a $10 off a $10 purchase with both) all for $9.50 which is around $.75 per outfit!

  • Nafi says:

On the 10 coupon it says you can still redeem the coupons up to 31october from 1 st August

  • Melissa says:

I got 46 outfits, denim skirts, shorts and carter 3 pc sets for a total of 41.57 and i saved 835.57 im hitting up another macys tomorrow. So awesome thanks collin

  • herlinda jennings says:

Okay I am new to this event… If I purchase 3 denim shorts in one transaction will that produce $30 or will I only get $10 ? I know that in order to redeem them they have to be separate transactions.

  • Mandy says:

Has anyone found out if this works if you shop online – buy jeans online, then bring your printed receipt to the store??? Thanks :)

  • Astrid says:

Just went to a different Macys spent $36.82 and my receipts say I saved $896

  • Kara says:

Got about 66 items (shorts and dresses and 2 pairs of adults jeans) for $33 out of pocket, plus I have 16 $10 coupons left over. I hit the jackpot!

  • Han says:

I used this coupon and I saved a lot.

  • ash says:

Do you have to use a macys card for all of this?

    • Kara says:

No, but you will save 20% on all your purchases is you OPEN a new card. Existing cards don’t get an extra discount. I had issues with mine so I closed it about 4 years ago and refuse to open another.

  • Sarah says:

Bought a pair of jeans for my husband for $10 (with the 20% off), got $10 and just kept buying jeans for $2. Plus the little girls jeans that are $6.98 with a $3.48 shirt =.48 OOP and that deal can be reused countless times with every new $10 given. I didn’t go too crazy… was tempting with Christmas so close. I bought 3 Jean pants for my husband, I pair of shorts for my daughter and 4 of the $2.48 infant items.

    • jennine says:

you did a great job! the people with 30+ items… that’s being greedy… *Side note extreme couponing I will never understand it. its not necessary unless you truly are donating. hard core couponing for your family yes, got it

      • Tanya says:

Who are you to say who’s being greedy I bought over 30 items and im proud of it. I didn’t break any rules and I have a baby on the way and one here so if I can get a good deal on some clothes so be it.

        • jennine says:

but at the expense of wiping most of it out for others… like say another mom wanted to get some for her kid too, but couldn’t because all the denim in those sizes were gone.

          • Tanya says:

Ok gotcha I myself am not a shelf clearer but I did get a lot of outfits but I also left enough of everything for the next person to get great deals as well.

      • Kara says:

Just because people got 30+ items does not mean they didn’t leave things for others. I had probably 50 or more denim items and when I went, I didn’t buy more than 1 of each style in each size because we don’t need two of the same item. I also went to 4 different stores, and shopped in 4 different departments. I showed a ton of people how to do the deal in store (and my friends who live in the same town online). Definitely not greedy and not a “shelf clearer”. Remember, some stores have tons of product and when someone like me buys 10 pairs of denim shorts, it’s barely a dent.

  • jennine says:

my macy’s today said only one 10 $ coupon per person :( I mentioned it didn’t say that anywhere on the card and she said it was there store manager policy. otherwise people would wipe the store… sounds like some people pretty much have.

  • adam says:

seems like this deal worked out better for childrens & womens denim. There was nothing of significant discount / clearance at my Macy’s for mens. guess I’ll pick some at Costco
