I am sure that I am not the only one with damaged unusable pans. Recently, I spent $20 to ship them back to Calphalon. My brother and mother have both done this and received new pans. So I sent mine off and in less than a month I too received new pans. The pans are priced at over $200 on Amazon. So before you throw out old pots and pans – check the warranty. I think it is very hip for Calphalon to stand behind their products and $20 shipping is a lot less than buying new pans.

Lowe’s is really good about returns. We had floor installed and two years later were having another room done. When they came out I mentioned we never got around to installing the baseboard, when they went to do it, they informed us we were sold the wrong product. Were able to return 2 years later!

We had a Christmas tree that we bought in November 2011 and it was a prelit tree. Next year November 2012, went to put it up and not a single light worked. It was GE and I called Lowes and told them about it and they refunded my money since I had the receipt.

Is there any company that warranties jeans for women? I swear I go through 20 pairs of jeans a year because the crotch/ thighs are just implodes.

    • Jen Strauser

I have extra hot thighs, too. Amazing how fast I can go through a pair, especially ones that fit nicely.

    • Cristine

      Try Levis?

      • Paulette

I have always bought Levi’s for my son. The last 2 pairs wore out quickly.I called customer service. They said they would send a pkg to ship them in and that the wear was defective.Nothing after 3 wks. Called back. No record of me calling the first time but they would resend pkg to ship back the defective jeans..It’s been over 3mths. I just gave up.

Try L.L.Bean! They stand behind everything they sell. Amazing customer service and free shipping!

      • christine

Ill try ll bean! Thanks everyone for the suggestions!

    • Julie

I’ve had great luck with Land’s End jeans in the past. They kept shrinking and they honored a return/exchange. I recommend allowing at least 1″ for shrinkage.

      • christine

Thanks for the suggestions! I looked at ll bean and nothing I could pull off as a 23 year old lol

I had a great experience with Mattel twice! First time I purchased a Geotrax set which was on clearance because a part was missing (not necessary but good to look at) and I wrote Mattel if they offer a replacement part for it, as I did not see it in their replacement online store. They did not have it as a replacement but sent me a coupon to replace it or towards any Mattel toy up to $19.00!!! And the other time I purchased the Geo trax cars set and McFinn broke down. I wrote to them and they provided postage to send the broken toy and replaced it with a complete new set!

    • cjs

Good experience with Mattel, too…it seems silly, but I called them to ask if a Barbie’s haircut was supposed to be so choppy, and they apologized… and sent me a coupon for another Barbie.

      • Julie

I’ve wondered about Barbie haricuts, as well. Sometimes they look like they were either caught in the shredder or crooked on the cutting machine.

Tupperware is great about replacing items (or if no longer in stock, giving a voucher). I recently sent off about 12 lids to bowls and replacements arrived within a week. Also LL Bean is awesome with their warranty on backpacks. My first one lasted 16 years but the zipper finally broke. Mailed it back and got a new one in a couple of weeks. Bought my husband one while he was in the military. He’s rougher on things and his tore up within 2 years — L.L. Bean sent a new one to replace it too.

    • cjs

Yes, I also had lids replaced by Tupperware at no charge.

Le Creuset is fantastic. MIL dropped her five year old, $350 dutch oven from the top of her refrigerator. It broke in half. They didn’t replace it for free since she caused the damage, but for $130 she had a brand new dutch oven in less than a week. She did have to return the old one.

  6. k

Thank you! I wish I had seen this last year before I threw out my good set of pans.

  7. Jane

I bought 2 thermos drink containers that leaked like crazy and they never responded to my emails. So thumbs down to thermos.

  8. Ali

Hmmm. Wish I’d thought of this when I had TWO crockpots crack within a year of each other. No more crockpot for me.

  9. Megan

Oxo Good Grips also has a lifetime warranty….they are EXCELLENT about replacements! I go out of my way to buy their products as a result.

    • Ana

Should you have their receipt for replacement? I just bought a set of storage boxes few days ago but I don’t have the receipt. Had I known this earlier I would have kept it safely. Thanks Collin and everybody for letting us know about this.

      • Tonya

I had an Oxo ice cream scoop that had a chip in the coating of the scoop part. I emailed them, they had me email them back a photo, and they sent me a new comparable one since they didn’t have the exact model anymore. I didn’t have to send the old one back, so I disposed of it since it was a hazard to use. Great customer service!

      • Megan

No, you don’t have to have a receipt.

  10. Beth

My mother in law called Calphalon customer service re: a top that broke. She was told a new one would be on its way and sure enough, a few weeks later a free replacement. Good work Calphalon!!

  11. Linda Reickard

I had the same problem with that same brand of skillet & took it back to Kohl’s & they replaced it. I didn’t have to pay to ship back to manufacturer!

I’ve had luck with a Melissa & Doug puzzle we got as a gift. The screw was sticking out and very sharp. My handy hubby couldn’t fix but the company replaced.

Also, jj cole sent me a new bundle me after I sent proof of destroying my current one that had all of the Velcro on back fraying. They made me write on it in marker and cut it in half and send a picture.

    • Maria

      WOW

      • Julie

I know, right? 🙂 I think this is for safety/liability/due diligence. I say kudos to them!

L.L. Bean is fantastic for returns/warranties and not just on backpacks. THEY TOOK BACK A COUCH WE BOUGHT TWO YEARS AGO. Yup. This couch always hurt my back, I thought it would break in, it never did. My husband emailed customer support just to see what they would say. They said we could bring it back to the store closest to us for store credit, which we were happy enough about. Well, we brought it back and they could not issue us a store credit for an amount that large, told us that we’d hear from corporate in a week or so about it… and we did. They mailed us a check for the amount of the couch. It was way more than I ever expected they’d do.

Camelback water bottles!!! They have a lifetime warrantee so every time a straw gets lost, spout gets mucky, or anything else they will ship you a new part FOR FREE. Each member of our family has a bottle (or two) from this company that we use daily so this warrantee has really worked for us!

    • sara

Hi Mary Kate we love this water bottles too. I have like 12 of them for my family of 4. My kids lost the straws sometimes or the spouts get mucky too. How do you contact them please. I usually use one part of each bottle to make one to work. TIA

    • Megan

Wow, perfect timing, my spout is broken! So glad that you posted this.

  15. Debbie

kiddie CO detector failed ( i believe under 4 years ) and was replaced easily.

  16. Lori

I had Bed, Bath and Beyond take back a Calphalon pan that I used for a while because it would not come clean. Gave me a brand new one, no questions asked, without a receipt.

    • Jane

I love bed bath and beyond, they’ve replaced cuisinart coffee makers, teapots, etc no problems, juicers. We buy most appliances from them. Love them!

  17. Deb

Anyone have any luck with Cuisinart pans? I’ve got one that started peeling but I read that they’re not good at honoring their warranty.

  18. Dee

I cannot say enough good things about LL Bean! When we started dating, my boyfriend didn’t “get” why I would spend $40 on a flannel shirt there instead of a $10 Walmart flannel. First, way better quality! Super soft and comfy. And then he saw the biggest perk. I had a hoodie that the cuffs started unraveling after several months of wear. Usually, I get two or three years out of an LL Bean hoodie, so I brought it back. I told the lady in returns when I bought it, that I’ve owned many of them and they always last two to three years so I was disappointed that this one didn’t make it a year before starting to fall apart. She said, “that’s ok, here’s a credit to get a new one” and have me a store credit for a replacement hoodie. He was like, “but she’s been wearing it for months” and the lady said, “but it didn’t hold up as expected so we will replace it, we want our customers to be happy”. He was amazed. Now he’s an LL Bean fan, too.

A lot of Women don’t know this, but I know that Victoria Secret warranties their bras for as long as you own it. So ladies don’t throw out your bra’s and return for a brand new bra. Also, I own knives from Cutco and they will sharpen and replace with their lifetime warranty, all you have to do is pay shipping to send in or call CS and set up an appointment to come sharpen in your home. Another company I’ve used is Servall to replace my broken Frigidaire shelves, once replaced they will replace them with a lifetime warranty.

    • cjs

They do? I have called them (VS) on a few occasions with issues, and they said ‘sorry, there are no refunds/exchanges past a certain date’….maybe their policy has changed since I last called…Is it the stores or online or both?

    • Cynthia Hughes

I had a problem with an underwire popping out after just a few months. Had to mail in the bra and they charged my credit card without my permission for what they considered a prorated amount for a replacement.

  20. Tonya

Pottery Barn Kids is really great about returns, too. The embroidery on my daughter’s Anywhere Chair had a funny little bump when I got it, but I didn’t think much of it. A few months later the bump started to unravel. They sent me a new cover and gave me a label to send the old one back!

Same thing with my son’s backpack that got a little rip near a seam after a few months of use (it looked like the stitching went slightly crooked right in that spot). They replaced it AND even replaced the non-defective lunchbox when I realized the new bag wasn’t the same shade of red as his original lunch box. I didn’t have to ship the old lunch box back since it was on sale for less than $15 (I think they have a dollar amount required for them to request the original item back).

Some of their items are pricey, but they are well made. You can get great deals in the sale section sometimes, too!

    • Julie

I completely concur. I’ve had problems with their lunchboxes– the material on the piping wearing unusually fast. There was very little inconvenience for me and they replaced two different times at 4-6 mo’s use and the other about a year later. I tried them once more because I much prefer the (almost) no-seams interior.

Hasbro also has a great customer service. Last year I bought a toy for my kid talking chuck from target and it never worked correctly even after replacing the batteries so I wrote to them along with the receipt picture and they send me a new one but different model since it ran out so kudos to hasnro too !!

  22. cjs

JanSport has a LIFETIME warranty on (all?) their backpacks….I had an issue with mine, and they had me ship the old one to them (maybe $4 in shipping is what I paid), and they sent me a new one of my choice.

  23. sara

Tweezermam is amazing with their beauty tools.I have my tweezers for over 15 years and when I send them back to get sharp they always send me a need pair.
From their web site: Our implements are guaranteed to perform and are guaranteed against manufacturing defects. We will sharpen or replace (at our option) the defective implement FREE.

Over ten years ago, I bought cooks essential from QVC. After seven years a few pans had the Teflon coming off, and I called QVC, they couldn’t find my original invoice, but I was able to return all the damaged pans. All I had to pay was to ship the old ones back. I also took care of my dads, that I had gotten him 13 years ago, and he had moved to a different state. Same thing, just had to pay shipping on the old ones.. Thank you QVC

Keurig is also a good company to deal with. When my keurig stopped working they had me send in the piece that houses the k-cups and sent me a brand new one.

Thanks for this post!!! I guess its always wotht to check wesite and call before throwing things away

Hi! Anyone successful with getting a mattress replaced, under the warranty? Could use your guidance, please. I have a Serta, for my toddlet, paid $800 at Sleepys, and its 3 years and saggy already…ugh. Thanks for your help!

  28. Leigh

Fisher price! I have the bunny swing that costs about $160. The motor started making noise so I contacted them via web chat and they just needed a couple serial numbers from the swing and they shipped me a new motor for free, I didn’t have to return anything and I didnt even have a receipt

  29. Leigh R

Two examples. First, my MIL broke the hinged lid to her Crock Pot and they gave her a completely brand new crock pot within a week’s time.

Second, I am a clumsy and lost one of my two Columbia gloves at a bus stop waiting for work. I wrote to them asking for the opportunity to buy a replacement glove so I could have the pair back together again. I wasn’t expecting them to give me a free glove. However, they surprised me by giving me access to their friends & family website where I was allowed to “stock up” on their entire line at 75% off! They were fast, kind, and very understanding. I’ll be choosing them over North Face anyday!
