No not truly free. when you get to the final screen they want you to order a magazine for $2 first year with automatic renewal and wants credit card info for this. I tried to not pick one and it wouldn’t let me continue.
There’s and option for ” no thanks at the bottom ” I had trouble too

Just got mine! Thanks. Here is another tip. I have also used these as a gift. With the holidays coming and having a large family this is perfect. If you have a spare email you can use just fill out the info for the person you want to receive the subscription and use your spare email. At christmas give them a card with something inside that says they are getting a year subscription to a magazine. They will never know it was free! Also if you already have this subscription you can sign up again and they will just extend your subscription.
