If you’re in the market for a high quality camera, check out the email I received from reader, Meagan, regarding the deal she scored on Amazon:

I’ve seen some posts talking about the Canon DSLR camera on the back of the Target Black Friday ad. I just ordered the exact same camera on Amazon for $429 with free two-day shipping, a 16GB SD card and a ton of free accessories (including a tripod!). This same camera is on the back page of the Black Friday ad for Target listed for $449 and only includes an 8GB SD card. The accessories offered with the Amazon camera are not Canon brand (they are a brand called Focus), but they all work fine for me! I’ve only had my camera for a day, but so far I’m very pleased and am looking forward to trying it out more this Thanksgiving. Just wanted to share my find with others looking for a nice DSLR camera this holiday season.

So if interested, head on over to Amazon.com where you can score this Canon Digital SLR Camera with Zoom Lens + 16GB Deluxe Accessory Kit for only $429.95 (Regularly $649.99)! Plus, this ships FREE with Super Saver Shipping OR snag FREE 2-day shipping (no minimum) with Amazon Prime (check out this post for more information on how to score a 30-day free trial of Amazon Prime).

I think the Target deal is better because you get the 75-300 zoom lens, so the camera comes with 2 lens. The Amazon deal only comes with one lens.

      thanks for this info!

You’re welcome! I priced out what just the 75-300mm Canon lens would cost and it runs $200 from Canon, but you can get it for a bit less on eBay.

I agree. The Target deal is significantly better with the 75-300 lens. The Amazon deal only includes the kit lens and pretends it’s a better lens. The accessories included in the Amazon deal aren’t that good. Great camera though.

The second lens makes the Target deal better by far. Glad someone commented quick so everyone will know.

does anyone have this camera? any feedback?

I have this camera and I love it. Be step up from a point n shot camera. It doesnt do well in dark settings ( noise in pics) but u need a very expensive camera to get that. If u are just using it for hobby use it is awesome. I won three photo contest with pics I took with this camera

You can always get a Speedlite flash to help with darkness. 🙂 I am still using my Rebel XTi from almost 7 years ago and it works great with the Speedlite flash!

I bought this camera earlier this year (from Target with the 75-300 mm lens) and I LOVE IT! I get great pictures. It captures my kids’ movements. It can zoom in close and get a great shot of a bug or a flower, but with the bigger lens I can also get something far away. It’s been really fun to have!

And it’s not being sold by amazon.. Third party seller.. I would be cautious. Last year around thanksgiving amazon did an even better deal than target. Throwing in lens and memory card and their backpack free. Wait for that

I’m interested in getting the Nikon 3200… Hoping that there will be a great deal on that between cyber monday and black friday.

Target has it with second lens on Black Friday for $500

I owned this camera for a year, and now it’s a paperweight. Actually my last few Canons have not been as good as they once were (I take a lot of photos). I switched to the Nikon 5200, which is a much better camera for my needs, with a lot more features at not much higher of a price.

Oh – I didn’t mention, another friend had the same camera and it stopped focusing at around the same time mine did, at the same age (about 1 year).

I assume you mean the auto-focus feature went out. If that’s the case, did you ever adjust the focus (not the zoom) with AF still turned on? Messing with the focus at all with AF on is what kills the AF motor. It shouldn’t be a paperweight–if the AF is the issue, you can replace the lens, or send the camera to Canon for service.

I bought a rebel T2i about 3 years ago and love it! I bought it from Amazon with 2 lenses. I bought just the camera a lenses as a deal together not a whole package with accessories. My camera works great, takes awesome pictures and at least 5 people I know have bought the same cannon after I did. It’s a great investment.

It is also rumored that Target will have a 20% off coupon. If that is the case, it will be a much better deal.

The T3 is a nice entry level DSLR. However, the T3i is a much better camera.

  11. Jennifer

It seems like the target deal will be better with the extra lens and the extra 5% off with the red card. I think this will be my Christmas present to myself 🙂

Does anyone have a round-up of the best dslr deals for Black Friday? I want to buy one but am having trouble narrowing down the best deals. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
