Could someone explain to me honestly and without snark what the point of a Kindle (or any book reader) is? Wouldn’t it be more wise to put this money towards a tablet where you can not only read e-books but also a whole list of other functions? Thanks!
The kindle fire IS a tablet Tilly, it is not just an e reader. Can do you many things w/it.

If you have prime, having a kindle fire makes it that much better. You get access to the lending library and can watch instant video. I love mine.
I have the first generation Kindle Dire, and while I’m sure it isn’t nearly as cool as the newer ones, it has a lot of functions other than just being an ebook reader. It uses an Android OS and my son plays games on it. I’ve actually only used it as an ebook reader a handful of times.

That’s a good question 🙂 A Kindle is not only an e-book, but it is basically like a mini laptop. You can do soo much with a Kindle! I bought the 7″ two years ago when they first came out, and just upgraded to the Kindle HD 8.9″ last month and Looove it! There is really a lot to do, it is just as comparable as other tablets out there.
The regular Kindle is only a book reader. The Kindle Fire IS A TABLET. Games, music, wifi, camera, everything.
OOOH! Ok thats what i never understood. Guess I should have looked into it further, but id read “Kindle” and my eyes would gloss over and id lose interest due to my lack of knowledge thinking they were all just e-readers. Anyway, thanks!
Yeah, we love our Kindle Fire HD. My girls love to stream amazon prime movies to it. We download lots and lots of free apps that the kids love. We listen to Pandora on it all the time…and lots more. I think the Kindle Fire is AMAZING bang for your buck 🙂 I hope this helps!

The $29 printer from Office Depot that was a door buster is online now! I just ordered one for my Mom. I also ordered the Bissell carpet cleaner that’s $99 at Walmart. Amazon has the $55 Sony Blu Ray player (that works with Amazon Instant Video) on their site live, no need to wait for Best Buy’s site to start the sale or for Target to open. I’m having a good night. My dog is patiently wondering why it is 2:30 am and we’re not in bed yet. Now, if only Target would put their Westinghouse TV on sale, I could go to sleep happy! If my dbf would have stayed awake, we could have ordered all the things he wanted from Lowes and Home Depot… he’ll regret the decision to sleep in the morning.

You’re welcome. We had an HP wireless printer and had nothing but problems with it. I’m sure we just had a bad egg off the factory floor. We replaced it with a similar Cannon and I love it! It works great and ours has individual ink tanks so if you’re printing invitations that are all red or something, then you don’t waste the other colors in the cartridges. I hope you like yours as much as I do mine! I bought this one for my Mom who is getting a laptop and would like wireless printing.

I got one for my kids almost 5 and 2 (more for the oldest). They love to play games, watch movies and read kiddie ebooks on my iPad which definitely had a larger investment than $99:) Sadly no black friday week prices when we got that!:) They don’t use our laptop and rarely our phones (too many calls and fb posts lol!) so this will be perfect for them! They have good kid cases that even have a handle on Amazon to help protect it. Super thrilled with this deal!
