If your prescription is over 1.00(which is pretty much everyone who wears glasses regularly) they make you pay a $30 lens upgrade fee, plus $20 shipping and handling. It can still save you money, but it’s stopped me from buying from there. $50 for a pair of glasses ain’t free.
I literally just went to eye doc today but they took my script. Wonder if I’m over 1.00. I just have an astigmatism. ???
Just call your doc and ask for your prescription. Don’t forget to ask for your PD too (pupillary distance)
Thats funny I didnt have those fees just the insurance on shipping. Have they changed the rules in the last two years?
They did change the rules because people with a higher prescription were ordering the standard lenses and it was causing the view to be distorted for some people. So now they require you to buy the thinner lenses so that the view isn’t distorted.
I ordered the thinner lenses due bad vision and my total was only $36 including shipping. Not free but much cheaper then anywhere else and I love my glasses!
And it’s a good way to use up flex spending money in December.

I have trouble with the PD pupillary distance part. I don’t have that. Do we have to add that info?
There is a chart you can print and have someone help you with that. It used to be linked under the PD box. There is an average that you can use but if its too far off for you it can cause headaches.
There’s a way to measure it yourself. It might be in the faq somewhere of you can google. I had to for a previous order.

you can call the eye dr and ask over phone they should have it in your chart, I always ask them to write it on prescription and print it out for me

Sams Club optical will let you bring in an old pair of frames to reuse if you pay a $10 fee, then just have them do the lenses. An idea for anyone who does not have a current RX immediately handy.
