Checkout51: Cash Back for Grocery Purchases at ANY Store (Milk, Yogurt, Produce & More!)

Hip2Save may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you via trusted partners and affiliate links in this post. Prices and availability are accurate as of time posted. Read our full disclosure policy here.

As I mentioned this morning, Checkout51 pays you cash when you purchase select items at ANY store or even online. You can easily download the App for FREE (available for both iTunes and Android). Or if you don’t have a Smartphone, you can use Checkout51 on your computer – just create an account here.

Since it is rare to save on milk and produce, I take advantage of any opportunities that I can to save on these items! With that being said, here are just a few of my favorite Checkout51 offers…

* $1 cash back when you buy 1 Gallon of Milk (any brand and any variety!)
* $1 cash back when you buy FAGE Total Yogurt 35.3 oz
* $0.50 cash back when you buy Earthbound Farm Organic Carrots

To learn more about how Checkout51 works, head over here for all the details.

How about you? Have you had a chance to check out Checkout51 yet? I would love for you to share your feedback in the comments below.

I just used it today, and earned $5 cash back. You have to have $20 to cash out. Seems just as easy as ibotta which is great.

  2. Happymama

I had to run out to Walmart after downloading this app. I noticed my total was $20.76 so I tried to submit my recept – I bought nothing on the list – and still recieved a $2 bonus! And b/c I got bread, I submited the Ibotta offer and I got thaat too on the same reciept!

    • Jay

Can we use the same script for both ibotta and checkout51?

      • Nit

        Yes

  3. LoveSaving

    There is also a $1/2 fage yogurt 35.3 oz coupons.com. I think zip 84123

  4. Tami Harrison

This might seem like a no-brainer, but I tried uploading a receipt from yesterday and it was not accepted because the offers I was going for didn’t go live until today. So dates on your receipts are important. Bummer, since I just purchased some Special K with Fruit and Yogurt (my fave) on sale at Safeway yesterday. I like the app for sure though.

    • Rebe

For those who bought Special K yesterday, enter your codes soon. I bought it today at Stop & Shop and entered the codes right away and it gave me 500 bonus point for every box! 🙂

  5. Brindha

I used the app today scanned the receipt got my 1$ for milk in matter of few hours. Very easy…. Easier than ibotta I feel as you don’t have to scan the product but just the receipt.

  6. 78Brownie

Questions…do you recommend separate orders if your receipt is going to be pretty long? I see a message stating that I can upload a receipt of $20 or more and receive $2. I just spent for times as much yesterday and my receipt also includes 15 or so coupons. Are they asking for this photo? Thanks in advance.

    • Brindha

You can scan the receipt in many sections they give you option for it. So no worries abt length of receipt. But the offers went live from today morning so I think yesterday’s receipt would not be accepted… Sorry.

      • 78Brownie

🙂 Thank you! No worries. You answered my third question (I thought of afterwards), as well.

  7. paige

i used 3 receipts from a few days ago and i was bummed that everything went live thursday to wednesday but i need more milk and the ibotta offer and checkpoint one with work good today! seems like it is gonna be good i just hope more and better offers go in because roc and aveeno, thats something i wont use 🙁

  8. stacey

used it, was easy to do and who does not love getting money back

  9. Maria

Are there any referal bonus’s for getting new people to sign up?

  10. Maria

It said more offers in the mobile app.. but I don’t see any different ones. Anyone else?

    • She

It’s the same for me as well.

  11. Crystal

I’m one of those people who don’t have a smartphone so I’m really excited that I am able to do upload my receipt to the website. I already got $1.00 credited to my account for buying milk. It was super easy to upload my receipt and I was surprised at how fast my account was credited. Thank you Collin. Without you I would never have known about this site (or a lot of other sites/deals for that matter 🙂 )

  12. Mona M

Thank you, just downloaded it and got 2$. Too bad we all drink lactose free milk and they don’t sell it in a gallon 🙁

  13. Amanda

I was recently part of a massive layoff of over 5,000 employees and I am 9 months pregnant so right now every penny really is being stretched.

I love these apps because things that I am in need of I can buy and get money back on those purchases. I can either put in the money into paypal or I can get a gift card so that I can splurge every once in a while.

    Thanks Hip2Save.

    • rebecca

Amanda, I’m going to be praying that God takes care of you during what should be a wonderful time but I know must be very stressful. I hope you have a loving support system to help you through too.

    • Happymama

If your stocking cheap diapers, Babys R Us has the BabyGanics box for $15. Hopster coupons has $2.50 off this brand. It says redeem at Target but it’s a manafacture coupon. Good luck and I hope things improve for your family!

      • Amanda

Thank you. I actually worked at a grocery store that closed almost 70 stores in IL. I was able to take advantage of our closing sale and got lots of baby supplies and food at 50% off before my coupons.
And yes I have an amazing husband and family that are awesome support.

  14. Meg

I saw this on another blog this morning and I am in love with it already!

  15. Ashley

Not sure if I want to do this…there are newspaper coupons, printable coupons, store coupons, online coupon codes , ibotta, cashback sites…. And now ANOTHER site? Sometimes it’s overwhelming! I work full time w/a husband and toddler…. I think I want to limit myself to save my sanity! Anyone else feel this way?

    • axhilli

      Yes lol

    • kathleen

i agree.. im in your situation but with a 3 and 1 yr old girls.. im trying to scale back this year

    • Misty

Can’t agree more. I am already keeping myself in control. I have assigned 45 minutes for browsing deals and printing coupons a day. Once my timer goes off, I stop. I am amazed how much time I used to waste on all these deals and now, after a month I realize, even after cutting back on time and thus use of coupons and offers my spending is same, and of course house is more clean and organized than before. Just my opinion.
I like savings with coupons and love Hip2save. Hip2save will always be my first site to visit whenever I sit before the computer. But I do feel we need to maintain a balance which is difficult with the flooding deals which keep coming every minute.

      • Ashley

I agree so much! I spend way too much time with these deals… A clean house and laundry is important!

    • meg

Anything that saves money is worth my time 🙂 just my opinion.

      • rebecca

But time is money as the saying goes. If you waste time, you waste … well, you know. I think when I first started, I was addicted to “saving” but in the end, I think I bought things unnecessarily. It might not be that for you but it certainly was for me. I’ve scaled back a lot because of it. Even if it’s a giveaway, I won’t enter it unless I really need it.

  16. jiya

I don’t have smart phone so I had never used ibotta or checkout 51. Someone please tell if u buy milk from Costco can you get that credit?

    • melissa

Yes. Costco is a listed store with ibotta and 51 accepts any store receipt.

    • Happymama

Costco has gallons, right? Should be able to.

      • jiya

        Thanks to both of u.

  17. Krissy

I’m impressed so far. Set up accounts this morning after reading about it here for both my mom and myself and got credited in a couple of hours after submitting our receipts. ($2 receipt bonus, Special K cereal, Lender’s, & milk). And there does seem to be a difference in offers with this app. For instance, she had a $1 back on two Halls cough drops, which I did not get. Same zip used.

I will definitely be using this in conjunction with Ibotta & Smoopa. They each seem to have their own advantages/disadvantages. Glad you can use Checkout51 anywhere, so I can use it at my local small grocery store or Kmart. I’m hoping more offers are like this weeks and are pretty common brands and types. The downside will probably be worrying about offers being full after you bought stuff but before you submit. Ibotta is great with bonuses and range of offers, but you have to use it at certain stores and I can’t find the brands/types in my area. Smoopa randomly offers money back and the values not as high, but you can scan anything, not just groceries, at any store to see if you can get money back.

    • Happymama

Never heard of it. I’ll look into it! Thanks!

  18. Margie

Darn! I bought 3 boxes of Special K yesterday (a day too soon!) and Fage yogurt today but Fage isn’t available for a rebate where I live. 🙁 Maybe I’ll get the $2 bonus for my $23 receipt though. I’m crossing my fingers!!

    • Rebe

For those who bought Special K yesterday, enter your codes soon. I bought it today at Stop & Shop and entered the codes right away and it gave me 500 bonus point for every box! 🙂

  19. Biscotti27

Can we use receipts from this past Saturday or do they have to be today’s? Sorry if this is a dumb question.. TIA

    • mel

It has to be from today. Offers go live on Thursday, and you have until the following Wed to submit the receipt. This is a little different than Ibotta, where they give you a few days leeway on your receipt.

  20. Becky

Thanks Collin. This is awesome! I love the fact that you don’t have to use a smartphone! NICE!

  21. Karen N.

I think the offers are regional. I have the milk and carrots for example but not the Fage.

  22. Tracey

I just downloaded this app and I cannot wait to use it. I’m going shopping Tuesday and my offers expire Wednesday. I was already planning on buying a lot of things on the list I use ibotta so it’s nice to get cash back from 2 sites.

  23. 87mb

Collin or anyone that can help me, I started receiving calfresh (foodstamps) 2 months ago and I also receive WIC for my baby, my question is if I can still use this apps if I’m paying with any of this two or is it cash only? TIA…

    • Kelly

I use ibotta when I buy items from WIC like the milk, bread, and when they have cereal offers. Ibotta doesn’t care how you pay, just that you bought the item. I haven’t used this new app yet. HTH

      • Nikki

I was wondering the same, their FAQ page says ok to use ANY coupons or discounts so it should work.

        • snoopymom

I used ECB at CVS to pay for my milk and it still gave me the credit. It made it a money maker for me.

    • Happymama

I hope you are couponing to maximize your food stamps. We don’t get any assistance but I make sure we don’t pay more than $200 a month for a family of 4 for groceries (including diapers/baby food). I’m not sure what the guidelines are for food stamps but I wish the program taught couponing…maybe America can get out of debt. Just saying…

When it comes to your question though, I don’t know it’s the right thing to do when you didn’t pay for the food in the first place. Just my opinion though.

      • Jenny

        Wow.

        • Siobahn Smith

I am new to couponing and wow this in mind blowing!!!! I am used to going shoping once a week and spending 200 a pop! I cant wait to start saving and learning this system!!! thanks for sharing the love

      • dropofrain

I would say, it is a SMART thing- trying to stretch your dollars/food stamps. You will have to pay tax on those items you paid for using coupons (otherwise, it would be completely free), but still, it is very smart. I’ve seen so many people buying milk at gas stations and paying with EBT cards, almost twice as much as it costs at Winco or Walmart, and it just makes me wonder why? (I am talking about “regulars”)

    • ashleybeach5

According to this website you can use ebt, foodstamps, or ANY form of payment with checkout 51. Happy shopping and saving.

      https://www.discountfanatics.com/how-to-use-checkout-51.html

      happymamma,

I am sincerely happy that you have never had to accept any kind of assistance from our government. I truely hope that you never find yourself in a position that your family might need the governments assistance and so often the harsh feelings that come with it. That’s not mentioning the overwhelming humiliation caused by the undeniable judgements from other people’s uncaring comments. If ever you do find yourself with government assistance please make sure you hold tight to your very clear opinions while using them.

P.S. Wic checks also come from the government, but I saw absolutely no harsh comments from the many people using them to get cash back for their WIC purchases. You should at least be fair if you will judge one, you should judge all.

  24. Katherine

I signed up today and uploaded my receipt tonight. I got 2 dollars cash back and a chance to win $500! I really hope I win:) I would pay down debt.

  25. DrLadybug

Sorry to say, bad experience here. Got the $2 but they couldn’t tell that I bought milk. The brand I buy is very expensive, but they didn’t credit. Plus, I submitted a review request but no acknowledgment when they’ve sent messages for every other little thing. I just dislike having to follow up if they don’t know the fairly well known but regional milk brand.

  26. Siobahn Smith

just signed up too … hopefully this is an awesome new app I will be using ALOT just like HIP to Save 🙂
Love Ya BTW newbie here and saved my first 56% at walgreens on sunday 😀

  27. Penny

I just joined today (1/10/14) but shopped yesterday and spent over $20 can I submit my receipt and get the $2? I tried checking the FAQ section but did not find info there. Thanks

  28. Amanda

In the details of each offer it says the days that they are valid. These offers were valid yesterday so you should be fine to submit. Even though you signed up on 1-10.

  29. DM

Anyone else having a problem uploading their receipt using Internet Explorer? I tried and it just keeps spinning, does not upload.
    Anyone?

  30. jiya

I am new to this….so if u buy 2 gallon(2 bottles) of milk u will be credited $2?

  31. Jen

Does anyone know for sure if you can use food stamps or gift card as a form of payment and still get cash back from checkout 51?

  32. Becky

does anyone know if you can use this with ebt?

    • Maria

I just redeemed and was approved for the .50 milk offer using my WIC check so it should accept it with ebt.

  33. Amy

I LOVE checkout 51 so far !!! Especially when they have the special k cash back offers! That is my fave cereal – but so pricey! I also switched to ALL detergent (temporarily) because of it – at dollar store last week, the detergent was $5 reg but was on sale for 3.50…got my $1.00 cash back – I was excited lol. Four kids with only my husband working, I get super excited when I can save a penny! lol
I used to use ibotta but had problems – I think I might redownload it to see if it’s any better now!

  34. Jessica

If we use our ebt card can we use this app?

  35. Nelly

Just started using it…will this work with WIC items?
