As I have mentioned previously on Hip2Save, Target hosts a Toy Clearance event twice a year – usually in January and July – where select toys and possibly other items are marked up to 70% off…and it appears that today is that day! 😀 Although clearance bargains vary greatly by region, here are just a few bargains you may want to keep an eye out for…

[h2s_box]

Check out a few emails that I received from Hip2Save readers across the country…

Spent $132.63 and saved $313.26!

Both of my Targets in central California went 70% off on toy clearance today! Lots of great brands like Legos, Megablocks, Innotab, Melissa and Doug, Leap reader, Leap pads, lots of superhero toys and craft kits at my stores!

I stopped into my local Target in NE PA to make a return & decided to check out the toy clearance. It appears today was the magic day in my store. They are marked down to 70%! While my store didn’t have lots to get excited over, I did find a Fisher Price doll for $4.48 & Matchbox planex pack for $3.88. There is still a bunch marked down 50% too. Just thought I’d pass it along.

I just got back from my local Target and the 70% clearance is happening now and started today. The employees are currently marking them down, but unlike last year, not all are 70%. Some are still at 50% especially the power wheels and kid trax etc. (the big ticket items) and Barbie too was only at 50%. Just wanted to give you a heads up![/h2s_box]

Is anything available online through Target.com at these prices?

    • picchu

No..most of the items are full price at target.com :(…So looks like it is only instore

      • Rachel

Sad….. I called Target just now and the man in toys said he didn’t see any power wheels in the clearance section. Do y’all think its worth me driving 30 minutes tonight to check it out for myself? Would love Barbie deals and a ride on!

        • amy

I called my target last sat asking about a toy and they said they had it in stock in their system but wanted to make sure it was physically there.. they told me they didn’t see it. I went anyway and saw 2 of them.. they were the viper ride on cars which was a pretty big box to miss.

        • Rae

Our toys were pretty much cleaned out at 30% but the power wheels were stocked and they were in sporting goods not with clearence toys.

  2. Sara

At my store in West Des Moines Iowa I got the viper ride on car at 70% off for $53. Great deal! The other ride on toys were 50%. There was nothing great left at any price point on other toys.

    • Ashley

Interesting- a ride on toy would be a great present for my sons 3rd birthday…..although it’s not until October!

      • Emily

Find someone with an attic and hide it away! You’d hate to pay full price in October!

      • Ashley

Just came back from Target! Got my son a Power Wheels Corvette! Regular price $300….I got it for $124! Wow ! Now I have to hid it until October! 🙂

        • Ashley

I also got a bike trailer for my 2 yr old…. It fits two kids, on clearance for $44! Great price!

  3. pao

most went down to 70% in Frisco, Tx; got a total worth of stuff of $202.10 and i only paid $60.37 for everything!! im so excited! went to 2 targets tho, and im extremely pleased with all my finds!! my daughter is going to be soooooo excited!!
    gotta love target!!

    • PS

I live in Plano! Wow! Which stores did you go to? I am planning on going to one by Stonebriar!

      • pao

went to el dorado & tollway and the one by stonebriar too this morning PS, i found more at the el dorado location because i got there by 8am when they open the store, the lady was still working on an isle before the one of the toys bt was kind enough to scan and put the new 70%off tag on each and every toy i asked her to scan, and they were a lot cuz i took two of my best friends with me, so we all stalked that poor lady lol! then we went to the stonebriar location, we got there by 9:30am ant there were already like 7+ lady already toy shopping, it was already very picked out bt i was able to find what i was looking for 🙂

        • pao

also be sure to check the slippers kids, toddlers and lady shoes section!! kids were $2.98, and lady $4.98 i think? they had seriously a wall full of them! also the kids clothes there are a lot of pants, sweatshirts, and jeans at 70%! 🙂

          • PS

Wow!!! Thank you so much for all the info and details!

            • Emily

I just went to both Eldorado & Tollway and Stonebriar. Eldorado store had a lot of stuff left. I got a Kid Trax Viper for $53 and tons of other stuff at 70% off. Spent $136 at Eldorado and only $30 at Stonebriar.

  4. Sarah

I hit the JACKPOT at my local Target! My favorite deals were a Minnie Mouse Kitchen marked down from $69.99 to $20.98, and a Sofia the First play tent marked down from $19.99 to $9.98! Also, Mega Blocks and Circo Blocks are marked down to about $5!

The clearance sign was a bit misleading… it said 30% off, but of course there were much better deals!

  5. Erin

Nothing to get too excited over this year. 🙁

  6. Kayla

I saw a man leaving my local Target in MO with 5 carts overflowing with clearances toys! He spent just over $2,000 so imagine how much he saved!? It was for charity 🙂

    • Kayla

Forgot to add he had a long flat dolly thing full of the white power wheels

    • Donna Dangerfield

I’d like to think that he is giving the items to charity but most people who buy that much are reselling it. I work in retail and i see it happen all of the time. Most likely you will see those power wheels on craigslist or ebay for double what he paid.

    • Casey

I am also in MO and in the past have seen several people doing that, I really wonder if they are giving to charity. Which location?

    • Toni

That’s awesome! There is a group where I live called the Goodfellas. They stock up on toys (cart loads) to stow away for the annual No Child without a Christmas. I helped them sign up and fill bags last year.

There are still some good people left in the world. I like to see the good in people and not jump to conclusions!

      • H

I agree Toni! I go to the Target clearance events every year for the sole purpose of buying toys to donate at Christmas for Toys For Tots. It allows my husband and I to donate more than we other wise would be able to.

  7. Heather

Last year when they had this sale.. I stocked up for Christmas! I’m planning on leaving work a little early today and heading out there before class tonight to stock up for birthdays!

  8. Lissette

Any coupons to use on this deal?

  9. angelahoang12

Anyone see any Beyblade on clearance?? That’s the expensive toy my boys are into these days LOL.

    • Erin

Not sure where you live, but our store (north of Pittsburgh) had the Beyblade battle arena on clearance. It wasn’t with the bulk of the clearances toys, but was on an end cap of a toy aisle. Good luck… my boys love those too!

      • krysta

Which store do you go to?

    • Jessica

My local target had several beyblade items for 5.00 or less. I am sure it varies at each store. 🙂 Good luck!

    • bfam

Check Toys R Us clearance for Beyblades

    • steph

      Lots of them in Durham.

  10. Katherine

I found super soakers marker down low, but my Target was taking forever to get to the toy aisle so i will be “stalking” them all day:)

  11. Amaya

SoCal at 50-70% off. Good stuff. Lots of planes, Spider-Man stuff. Tents and sleeping bags at 50% off

    • Buckeye Momma

Which did you go to? Boy or girl sleeping bags?? Thanks!

      • Amaya

  12. savin girl

Looking for a dollhouse for my daughter’s birthday. Might end up paying around $75 for one. Has anyone seen any deals?

    • Buckeye Momma

My target had a wooden 3 story doll house I think it was the kolcraft brand for $25 marked down from $80. Hope that helps!

    • Z

I found a bey blade battle set at my target for around $17 I think (2 beyblades plus arena) it was 50% off and I had the lady scan it with her price changer machine and it was still 50% so I got it lol I’m in MD if that helps 🙂

    • Z

KidKraft Elegant dollhouse was only $35 at my target (originally $119!)

    • Rachel

My target had the Disney princess ultimate dream castle for around that price.

  13. amy

  14. Barbara

Best deal I saw at my target Super target Brandon, FL kidkraft doll house $35.98. They lots of small action figure for $4 and under. mega Blocks the large starter ones of $8.98. Just walked left at 3:00Pm

  15. Kendra

Just left my target in Jacksonville Nc. The toys are all still 50 percent off. Nothing exciting at all either. They did have circo boys and girls shirts on clearance for 1.50 each. The cartwheel coupon for 15 percent off circo toddler clothes worked on them as well. My total was 1.27 each. Not bad for shirts that are org 5.00 dollars each

    • Monique

      Same here in Greensboro, NC

      • steph

Lots of good deals and 70% off toys in Durham (Southpoint)

  16. Cara

My son turns one on Saturday so I took a peek at one Target this morning and saw a woman grabbing the last Fisher Price crawl around car for $14.99! I was so bummed since I paid $30 for it (after coupons and Cartwheel so already a steal!), so I headed off to our other 2 local Targets. I didn’t find the car but I did find other great deals at all three places — Duplos and Mega Blocks and Melissa and Doug craft kits (for my 5 year old). And Doc McStuffins toys that were marked 50% off but rang up 70% off. Oh and a Plan B globe ball that I bought on clearance a few weeks ago — it dropped even more so I bought it again and returned it on my old receipt. I’m excited! I normally don’t find anything this time of year but the selection this year was great:)

    • Heather

Cara, What Doc McStuffins toys were you able to find for 70% off? Thanks!

      • Cara

A little two pack of dolls — Doc and Emma having a sleepover. And the checkup set that comes with Lambie, Stuffy, and Chilly where it says a different phrase depending on which character is on the table.

        • Heather

          Thanks Cara.

  17. Tarin

I was able to get the fur real friends monkey for $20 lol Elmo for $8.98 brats dolls cars and accessories 70% off hot wheels wall tracks $13.48 fur real friends bouncy $11.98 little tikes walk around car $14.98…. And much much more!!!

  18. Vivian

Got a few things, disney planes sets, kawaii crush doll, vtech car track thing, mini figure hulk toy, and a playdoh toy. Didn’t see any mega blocs or melissa and doug items… there were two ladies who were there together and had their carts piled high. The shelves had a 30% sign, but if you look at the actual clearance sticker you can see that many items were more discounted. I’m in irvine, ca.

    • Amaya

Was there much left? Which store in irvine? Tia

      • Vivian

It was Barranca, there is a lot left… just kind of picked over

  19. SK

So tempted to go… But am holding back. No need to buy something just because there is a sale. I know I might regret it later, but right now I am firm…. Have to stop reading the comments and post though.. They just tempt you more about the deal you could have got 😉 happy shopping everyone! And the ones who missed out or found cleared shelves remember it is NOT the end of the world, your kids not having that one particular toy is not worth fretting over, there are millions of unfortunate kids who don’t even know what a toy is… Your kids are lucky to have a good parent like yourself 🙂

    • Rachel

      Good reminder for me thanks!

      • rosana

My son’s birthday is this month got him 3 items and paid 21.xx
got a train set regarding price 39.99 for 11.xx, hot wheel walkie talkies regarding 9.99 for 4.99 and a set of transformers regarding 9.99 for 3.88. So happy also went to babies r us got 3 dresses and 1 pair of shoes save about 80.00

    • Vivian

I sometimes wonder if I buy more now that I read these savings blogs lol… my husband would say yes. He was rolling his eyes at me last night when I dragged him to babies r us to buy clearance clothing for hypothetical future gifts!

      • Amaya

Yep! I wonder the same often. I think I need to stop reading these blogs 🙂 lol. Thanks for the irvine target info. I think I am done for today tho.

    • Buckeye Momma

For what it’s worth, I think I got more bang for the buck during the July Target clearance.

  20. Em

Anyone see any My Little Pony? If so what

    • Heather

Walkin Talkin Pinkie Pie is $7.?? and Equestria Girls two pack of Sunset Shimmer and Twilight Sparkle is $8.98. My girls were excited to find the Equestria Girls!

  21. Liz

Did anyone catch any Legos on clearance? Even 30% would be awesome.

    • Heather

Found two different Galaxy Squad ones, Duplo Cinderella castle, and one of the little plastic cases of creative cars (not too sure what it is called) all for half off.

      • Heather

Ran out to two more stores after the kids went to bed and scored big! My older girl is just getting into the friends legos and I found the Olivia house for $24.48 and adventure camper for $10.48. So excited for her birthday and for her to get to build these!

        • Sarah

Were the “Friends” Legos marked on sale/clearance?

    • Buckeye Momma

I got three sets. One Lego Ninajo with a three headed dragon regular $119 marked down to $28. Another Ninajo regular $40 for $20. And a space alien lego set regularly price $20 for $10.

      • Liz

        Wow!! Lucky you!

    • AnnaD

I got four Lego Duplos, one 31 piece box, two starter sets and a story book set.

  22. Rachelle Betow

I scored this morning around 9 am. The employees were stocking/marking down to 70% as I got there. I got rollerblades for my daughter, 2 different scooters (1 hotwheel and 1 toy story 3) for my sons, star wars play tent, magnetic/doodle activity box, first years electric keyboard, hotwheels sets, thomas the train sets, disney baby-ish toys for my bun in the oven 🙂 and much more. I spent $155 and my total would have been over $500. I used my target redcard for another 5% off. I’m glad that my younger two are boys because there wasn’t much in the girl dept but TONS of good boy stuff… And whoever was asking about dollhouses: my target in Oregon had like 3 or 4 and they were originally $119 marked down to $38 (I think)… so it may be worth checking out depending on your area. Happy shopping everyone! 🙂

    • Samantha

Just curious… What Thomas sets did you find on clearance?? I wasn’t planning on going, but my son LOVES Thomas!

    • Amaya

How much were your scooters? Thank you 🙂

    • Rachelle Betow

I got a HUGE “Thomas” that is remote controlled (more for 18 months and up) and a smaller Thomas track and train. The scooters were like $15. Not bad when they are normally $35-40. There were about 4 Hotwheels scooters after I left but I got the only Toy Story 3 one. I didn’t see a whole lot of Thomas stuff but the stuff I did find was mixed in random areas…. HTH!

  23. Melissa

I got a leapfrog tag space learning set marked at 5.98 and it had a $5 off peelie in it making it 98 cents! I also got “the green machine” for $21!!

    • Mer

Pretty sure those peelies expired back in August

  24. Kate

I went in this morning and was able to pick up some fun “how to train your dragon” crossbows for about $5.50 each and some kreo mini figures for $0.88 a 2pk. Nothing else really caught my eye.

  25. Barbara

I got a Barbie dream house for $78 about four days ago. Marked $92. The box was crushed they gave me an extra $10 off because I mentioned it was for next Christmas and had some concern over lost or broken pieces plus I used my red card for extra 5%. Was so happy because my daughter really wants the one with two elevators, ( isn’t it crazy how they know the difference, she will be five in July) and I could not buy it at full price. Yeah!

  26. Linda

Collin, thank you for all the posting you do! I’ve never left a comment on any mass followed blog before, but am so excited by the deals I just scored at target! Including a Disney princess castle that I’ve been waiting to get marked down lower! Reg $189, was marked $94, asked why some toys were 70% off & others only 50%… Had to go to customer service, but they took 70% off everything that wasn’t ringing up at 70% off. $189 to $56 & another 5% off with target card! Now gotta wait a year to give it to my girls, they’re gonna freak out next christmas! Thank you for posting!

  27. Leslie

Anybody in west palm beach florida? What does it look like? Getting paid tomorrow.

  28. Heather

My finds weren’t as good as last year, by far .. But I’m still happy! Got a $59.99 megablocks Barbie set for $18, a smaller set for only $3, some Melissa and Doug sand art for $2.08. There were a few isles of stuff.. Nothing in particular we were interested in.

For those interested, they had tons of superman/iron man toy sets, cabbage patch dolls, Barbies, ninja turtle ride on toy for $11.98, sky landers megablocks, Minnie Mouse kitchen for $30.98

  29. Joy

I bought a Step 2 create and play kitchen for $29, reg $98, for my grandson. I would never have paid full price but I couldn’t pass up the sale. It’s neutral colors which is great for a boy.

    • g

I got that same kitchen last year for my kids at that price as well. It is a great kitchen and you can’t beat $29 for Step 2.

  30. Jennifer

Store in St. Louis had the beetle bug ride on clearance. They had 2

  31. Tracey

Hi! Does anyone know what date further reductions will be taken on the toys? There are a few things marked 50% and I’m patiently waiting for them to drop to 70%.

I really want to get the Volkswagon bug, Barbie jeep or other two-person motorized car. Right now, they are still marked at 50% (ranging from $90 to $150). Should I hit my Targets every morning or should I not bother until a day next week?

I’m becoming obsessed! I really want these items but I don’t want to go Target-hopping if it’s not necessary.

Thanks in advance for your advice!

    • Barbara

Ask someone nicely in the toy area when they typically do markdowns. If they know they usually will tell you.

  32. Keosha

I went to Target yesterday to scope out deals for today. The selection was terrible. I found better deals after Christmas at Target (90% off) and Rite Aid, Walmart and CVS (75%). I decided to skip Target today because I didn’t want to e tempted to buy something because it was on sale. Glad to read the comments of those who found GREAT gifts for their kids or to donate. I will try again in July. Happy Shopping!!!!

    • Buckeye Momma

I totally agree! I felt much better abt the things I picked up at CVS and Target Christmas then I did today. I think the Target selection was better last July.

  33. Brindha

Got 2 baby alive dolls, planes play set, remote controlled wheels and on the go dry erase/magnetic set… Actually got for abt 70$ some were 50% also most were 70% ! Going to return some soon 🙂 it was on end aisles no 70% signs at all. Got some bday gifts for this year…. In ohio!

  34. Mary

Anyone in Minnesota seen the power wheels Spat 70% off?

  35. Jen

I am in MN….I am thinking you mean the big power wheel ride on cars? ( not sure what Spat is) I got the red Viper car for $53 dollars, was the only one 70%. All others were 50% even had them price check.

    • Mary

Omg, I know it was the only one. But what store is it?

  36. Nikki H

Thank you so much for posting this!!! I was able to get two Dusty Crophopper toys for my little boy’s upcoming birthday!! Thank you again!!

  37. Sarah

FYI, there are sweet clearance deals in the baby section as well! Diaper bags that were $40-50 marked down to $10… Crib sheets, blankets, breast pump accessories… Most were still 30-50% off though, so hopefully the prices will come down even more in the coming weeks!

  38. Melissa

Went yesterday and scored all my boys bday presents for his upcoming 3rd bday next month for under $30! I’m so glad I got there when I did because as I was finishing up my shopping a couple started clearing the shelves in a matter of minutes.

  39. Renee

seems like all the stores with 70% are out West….nothing on the east coast yet…still at 50%…i asked and called around to about 10 stores….no one seems to know when they will be at 70% around here. guess I will be out on Monday looking….

  40. kay

I am in Northern NJ and most clearance items are 70% off. Target in Rockaway and one in East Hanover.

  41. Beth

Only 50% here in IA and IL. :○( Oh well. Guess I can wait. Lol

  42. Sara

Anyone know if I can store the power wheels for a year or so before using it??

  43. emily

Omg! I have been to 4 targets because the statewide clearance has been amazing. On the 4th one I was lucky to find the one toy I wanted for 50% off. Good enough since they seem to be out everywhere. FYI it was the Barbie train and ride horse. It had no clearance sticker and was in regular isle and sure enough 50% off when I scanned. Yay!

  44. Andrea

You can store the power wheels with no issues. Just take the battery out and store the battery in the house if you plan on storing the car in the garage.
