I bought two of them a few weeks ago (and gave it a 1 star review which has yet to show up). The lids do not close – if it tips they fall off. Sort of makes this set useless for me. I have had to clean up spilled cereal and pasta already and ended up taping the lids shut. Bummer too because I was excited about the look/price.

I bought these cereal containers a few months back when they were $1.99 a set and they are worthless. The lids fall off, thought about taping them on but that defeats the purpose. I wish I knew what to do woth them now – I’ve thought about throwing them away but my three year old likes to play with them!

I ordered 6 ref soup mugs, they can be put in the oven. They will also work great to leave soup leftovers in the fridge or take soup to work for lunch – thank you.
Two thumbs up for the Anchor Hocking Montana jars. LOVE them! The lids are very snug and keep the ants out of my sugar and flour. I have the 2 1/2 gallon jar for flour and the 1 1/2 gallon jar for sugar. They do have a large footprint, but they’re gorgeous on my counter.
So is there a rubber gasket in the lids to keep them airtight? I’ve been looking at high-end jars like these (Pottery Barn, Crate & Barrel) and they have metal lid that fit loosely. I really wanted an airtight fit, and I can see me (or my kids) accidentally bashing the lids on the jars.
I don’t know if it’s rubber, but it’s very snug. My kitchen is swarming with ants in the summer and none made it into these jars. If you want to see them in person, check Target. That’s where I bought mine.
