And, if you’re on the fence about joining BJ’s, be sure to check out my video and post here (and all the helpful comments from readers!) where I highlight how to store larger canned goods purchased from a warehouse and how you can save money when compared to buying at your local grocery store.

[h2s_box]Here are a few positive reader comments from that post regarding BJ’s:

I shop at BJs and instead of getting the huge cans, I usually get the box with multiples of the grocery store size (14.5 oz) and still end up with great savings. The cool thing about BJs too is that you can stack BJs coupons with manufacturer coupons.

I love BJs! The membership pays for itself in one visit. I love that you can stack coupons and that you can use multiple coupons on a product. For example if you buy a 4 pack of toothpaste shrink wrapped together, you can use 4 manufacturer coupons plus a store coupon. As long as the items have separate bar codes. So if you buy the double pasta sauce like Collin has in the video, you would be able to use two manufacturer coupons as well as one store coupon. Coupon savings on top of their great prices makes BJs the best!

I love BJ’s for the following reasons 1) Huge Organic or 100% Natural selection. 2) You can combine manufacture coupons and BJ’s coupons. Our last trip we saved an additional 39% by using 13 coupons on 10 items. My father in law is gluten free and Barilla has had $1/1 coupons on Coupons.com and  our BJ’s has a 3pk for $5.99. We can use 3 $1/1 coupons which makes it $2.99 which is amazing price for gluten free pasta. I bought 12 cans of mushrooms for $7.99 which made them about 67 cents a can, the same cans sell for 88 cents each at Walmart. So I saved $2.57, we use a lot of canned mushrooms. Also if you create a log in for their website sometimes you receive coupons to try products free. We got a coupon for a free contanier of Earth’s Pride Organic Orange Juice. Especially welcomed this time of year.[/h2s_box]

    Does BJ sell organic food?

    • RB

Yes! They have a surprisingly wide variety of organic foods! I love that they sell Applegate products and, since you can use Manufacturer coupon on the items as well, it makes them an even better deal than Target normally!

      • Tiffany

They just had an apple gate bjs that was in the last set of the flyer coupons. Made the 2 pk hotdogs a great deal with the 1.00/1 IP Applegate coupons.

My membership expired last december…can i buy this membership?

    • Laura

wondering the same thing. mine expired about 3 weeks ago. I wasn’t going to renew it, but at this price I will (assuming it applies to those of us who have had a membership before)

I purchased one for my husband when Collin posted the one on Groupon in December. I was a member, so did not get myself one. When we went to get my husbands this month (mine was expiring the end of the month), the clerk asked who else we wanted on the membership. Much to our surprise, he said i could be added. And yes, we did tell him I had a membership that was about to expire. Not sure if this is the norm, but might be worth buying for your spouse, parent, etc and adding yourself. I also grabbed my dad one and he is able to add my sister, who does not live with him. HTH

Yes they do. We love their organic Edemame

Also, if you sign up for their emails, you sometimes receive $5 off $50 in-store purchase coupons ~ we’ve got a few in the last couple months.

When Barilla had their $1/2 coupon out last, I stacked it on top of a BJs coupon and got 8 boxes of pasta for $1.

They also carry Happy Baby food items in their Baby Department!

Does anyone know if there is a way of getting new membership, if you are an existing member.

Also which in your opinion is better, bj’s or costco?

    • Karen

Could you put it under someone else’s name in the household?

I don’t have a BJs near me. I’m patiently waiting for a deal to Costco, there was a new one built by my house. Can anyone remember if it was Groupon or Livingsocial that had the deal last time? Want to know where to keep my eye on.

I’m hoping someone has a deal for SAMs soon..
My year from last years LS deal is almost up! I’d love to renew it for a discounted price, lol.

I got aveeno baby lotion 2 pack bottle (18 fl oz in each bottle) reg 11.99 for 4.99. i used 2 – 2 off aveeno product from recycle bank and 3 off aveeno baby item from bjs booklet.
The same size bottle at my target is sold for 9.99 each..

One thing I really love about BJ’s is they have a self service check-out. If I have just a few items, I can be in and out of the store in 5 minutes. Stacking coupons at BJs is such a huge $$ saver too.

And as much as I love Costco, they don’t have self-service check-out. Their lines are crazy and you can wait as long as 10-15 minutes on the weekend. But Costco’s food selection does seem to be better than what I can find at BJ’s.

This is such a good deal. A while back, Groupon had this deal as well!

I just chatted with a Bj’s rep and she told me that I can enroll as a new member once my current membership expires.

: Hello How may I assist you today?
: Hi, I have a question about getting new membership. If I am an existing BJ’s member is it possible to get a new membership once my existing membership expires, instead of renewing it?
: I’ll be happy to help you with this. When your membership expires, you are able to enroll in a new membership.
: oh sounds good, so I don’t have to renew my existing membership, I can just get a new one, right?
: That’s right. Is there anything else I can help you with today?
: no that will be all. Thanks a lot.

So this deal maybe good for existing members, whose membership is about to expire.

Here is my zulily link. Would love it if someone wants to join under me.

Thanks for your helpful comment! I used your link to order 🙂

Groupon or Livingsocial (forgot which one) had $35 for membership and you get $25 gift card, so after I signed up I did not renew my sam’s card membership. BJ is a little bit more expensive from sam’s club but they accept all manufactured coupons and they also have great coupons on their own. Every month they have new coupon booklets and also another paper coupons. And last week on bottom on my receipt was $5 off next $50 purchase 🙂 which I used this week.
