According to what I’ve read in the fine print previously, the promo codes don’t (usually) work for reserved movies.
I have used promo codes for reserved copies several times.
How does it work (where do you put in the promo code? Also, what do you have to enter to make the reservation– any credit/bank card* info?– and then what do you have to input at the kiosk to pick up– just a confirmation code they issue you for the reservation or do you have to have the same *credit/bank card?)
When I checked this out today, I was offered a free one-night game rental as well. W00t!

I’m in fl and the code worked for seven eleven kiosk.

Yes, as long As it’s tomorrow!
As long as you return by 9 p.m. the following “day” (in your time zone), you won’t be charged for another day.

I tried at Winco and FoodMax in Northern CA, did not work at either location. It said it’s only valid at certain locations and this isn’t one of them. Bummer.

Yes, you will still need a credit card to rent from Redbox. It is so they can bill you if you don’t return the movie by 9:00 pm the next day! When you check-out there will be a promo code tab to enter the code. HTH

I’ve rented, but I need to know the reservation procedure, because my fiance does not have the credit card with him, and he would be picking it up. So what would he need in order to pick up the movie? Also, at what point is the promo code entered when reserving online?
He has to swipe the card to verify at the redbox so he will need the card.
I called Redbox and explained that this code didn’t work and they gave me a one movie credit on my e-mail address. Hope this helps.

I just tried to see it and it wasn’t available at that kiosk location. Not sure why but it was a military base one of that makes a difference.

So, I just tried reserving the same title from my home computer and it allowed me to reserve the movie for pickup at Walmart and McDonalds! It looks like this code works best if you reserve online…

Reserved online for Turkey Hill. It worked fine! If you reserve online it says you can pick up by 9pm the next day. So if I pick up tomorrow does that mean it will still be the same price if I returned it on Saturday? So is it you can reserve on Thursday for a Friday night movie?
Based on what I read elsewhere in the past, you can pick it up until then because you’re being pre-charged for that time period. If you keep the movie beyond that 9 p.m. cutoff it goes into another day’s rental.

When you are on the check out page (above credit card info) there is an option to use a promo code. Just used it and it worked fine.
After you add movie to cart and are in checkout page before you click “order” button there is a little box that says Enter Promo Code. Check the box and then enter the code there.
You will need to enter the credit/debit card number that you will be picking up the movie with. When you go into the store that you selected to pick up the movie you click the “pick up” button on the kiosk screen and then need to slide the card that you have previously entered online in your acct when u reserved the movie.
If you fiancé has a card get the numbers of the card and the security code from him and put it in your acct before he picks up the movie. It will charge that card and the movie will be released to him when he slides the card at the kiosk.
Save yourself a headache and just reserve it online with the promo code! I went to Raleys & it didn’t work at that location, so I went to Save Mart and again didn’t work at that location. I sat in my car and made a Redbox acct and reserved the movie w promo code no problem and then walked back into Save Mart and picked it up for free!

You can but the code only takes off $1.20 and blu ray is $1.50 so you will be charged $0.36

I had to reserve it online in order to ck out a DVD. I tried to use it at the kiosk but said only available at certain locations. Then I went on my smartphone, reserved it online & voila~free movie…repeat!!
Wouldn’t let me use at the kiosk, so I hopped in the car reserved the movie via my Redbox app and it worked perfectly. Thanks for the code and thanks to the commenters who suggested reserving online.

I rented three movies for free! I did each as a separate reserve online, using the same promo code each time! What a nice treat for the kiddos! We had a family movie night! Thank you for the heads up!
I had same problem trying to rent at the kiosk with receiving the error message. I Re-read the terms (I received the coupon through Redbox phone app) and it said it had to be reserved through the app. I don’t know how redbox is deciding who it works for through which method, but this code DOES work for current customers. If it doesn’t work at the kiosk, try online, or through the Redbox app. I reserved through my phone at the kiosk and picked up immediately, there was no delay.
