    How does this stuff taste

  • Mindie says:

I just want to post a Warning about Hydroxycut. I took this for 5 weeks and it ended up causing acute liver failure. For 6 weeks I was in bed and at the hospital daily for blood work and multiple liver biopsies. My liver enzymes were so high, and I was so sick that my liver specialt thought that I would for sure be needing a liver transplant. Luckily, my liver started to heal itself and after a very long and scary road I was back to normal. Please be careful if you decide to use this product.

    • Patty says:

      Additional information from WebMD:

“In 2009, Hydoxycut maker Iovate Health Sciences voluntarily pulled its products from shelves over reports of liver problems, seizures, and rhabdomyolysis, a muscle-damaging condition. At the time, the main active ingredient in Hydroxycut was a fruit extract called hydroxycitric acid (HCA). The makers of Hydroxycut have since stopped using HCA in its formulas. However, the health concerns that sparked the recall were never directly tied to HCA.”

So Mindie’s liver problems were not an isolated occurrence. The product was recalled and now has different ingredients, and this MAY have solved the problem. We don’t know for sure.

    • Bunny says:

Mindie, glad you are fully recovered. Sorry to hear you went through such an awful ordeal.

Your Hip2Save “sisters” (okay, there may be a few “brothers” but it seems like Collin’s readers are mostly female) are glad you are able to let everyone know about your experience and that you are now okay :-)

      • Tim says:

Yup, there are some “brothers” on here. I’ve been couponing for almost 2 years and I love the thrill of finding great deals. My wife will find a great deal every so often but, for the most part, it’s just me. I love Hip. Best coupon blog out there.

    • Dannie says:

I was gonna say be careful too because I’ve seen tons of testimonies online about people who have had severe physical and mental complications because of diet products :(

    • Maria says:

Wow Mindie, thank you so much for the warning and cautionary words. I will, too, pass on this deal. I’m glad you fully recovered after such a disastrous situation.

    • Christine says:

Wow. That’s terrible mindie! Diet products are very very scary! When I was a child a family friend died from diet pills. Best if luck with your recovery.

    • Abby says:

Thanks Mindie for sharing with us! I’m glad you are ok now… This is a miracle 😊 I’ll pass this deal 👎

  • says:

I agree please be careful with what you put in your body. With that being said I have been taking Skinny Fiber since October and am losing weight. It is different from all other “diet pills” because it is all natural. No caffeine, no stimulants, all plant based ingredients.

    • lisa says:

Even that product is not necessary. Eat at a calorie deficit and weight loss will occur.

      • says:

Thank you for your input. I have struggled with my weight for years. I have been using for the last year and a half being on a 1200 calorie diet and still only lost 10 pounds. This included cutting out processed foods and jogging on the treadmill 3 to 4 times a week. Diet and exercise does not work for everyone:) Since starting with Skinny Fiber I have manged to lose another 9 1/2 pounds. Skinny fiber works with your body naturally to help get rid of toxins and helps to boost your metabolism to help you in your weight loss journey.

      • Debbie says:

I am doing a three way kidney donation in six weeks, so I appreciate all the advice from everyone. That being said, I have dropped 30 pounds on weight watchers but hit a plateau two months ago. I CANNOT lose these last five pounds! I am walking every other day, doing cardio every other day and sticking with the program, but it’s frustrating. Any advice to kick up my metabolism? Please????

        • Shanna says:

Mix up your workouts. Try adding in some weight training with the cardio. Many times ppl hit a block when their body is used to the same thing. I bet once you add in weight training the last 5 will come off! Best of luck to you :)

        • Patty says:

Try mixing in weight training with your walking and cardio. It raises your metabolic rate (muscle cells use a lot of energy, even when you’re resting).

Lifting heavy weights (ones you can lift just a few times before getting tired) is most effective. Women often avoid heavy lifting because they don’t want to look like a bodybuilder, but women’s bodies don’t bulk up the way men’s do.

        • jac says:

First of all, great job on your weight loss! I agree with other posters that you might find that the last five pounds is easier to lose with a new activity. Specifically, some type of resistance/strength training will help you build muscle mass. This requires more energy than other body tissue, so it increases your metabolic rate & can help you lose more weight than cardio alone. Good luck, & I hope your kidney surgery goes smoothly!

    • Patty says:

‘All natural’ and ‘plant based’ means absolutely nothing. Belladonna is all natural and plant based and will kill you dead.

Also, you’re not contributing to the discussion. You’re just taking advantage of Mindie’s very personal warning (and Collin’s daily hard work to attract readers) to make money for yourself. I find that shameful.

      • says:

No, I am simply trying to give people an alternative to the chemicals and toxins that they buy off from the store shelf. I work in a pharmacy and see people buying this stuff all of the time, they aren’t worried about the harmful side affects, they just want to lose weight.

        • Patty says:

An alternative to CHEMICALS? What is Skinny Fiber made of, sunshine and dreams? Every physical substance is made of chemicals.

You’re not trying to help people, you’re trying to get people to click on your link and type in their credit card number. And you’re regurgitating the worst parts of every weight-loss infomercial in the process.

          • Tia says:

“sunshine and dreams”…well that is just too funny and I will be pocketing that away to use at a later time. And I don’t think Patty is being rude, she’s being honest. Move more, eat less…it works time and time again. And this comes from someone who did just that and lost 30 pounds using YouTube videos.

        • Tiffany says:

No one needs any kind of pill to lose weight, most of it is mental, I have always struggled with weight as I love to eat and being southern, comfort food is yummy but horrible for your health… Having been involved in the fitness industry, I can tell you right off. If you eat the proper foods at the proper times to keep your metabolism going, and work out at including strength training to build muscle (more muscle mass means more fat burning). It isnt about 1200 cal a day per say, that usually isnt enough cals for someone to build and repair muscle if they are working out….(its basically for someone who sits on their butt all day) A pill does none of this for you.

          • Britt says:

Tiffany, sometimes pills are necessary. My body does not process protein and has other issues. My doctor put me on pills to help my body do this. Without the help my body was not performing tasks that it should. I do martial arts 3 times a week and have been for 7 years. I eat healthy and everything…..just my body did process the nutrients and protein. So sometime even if you do everything right it isn’t enough to lose weight. Everyone is different and there is no one right answer.

      • Tammi says:

        Patty you are rude

    • SoxGirl1029 says:

You guys should check out this group on facebook: It’s full of all kinds of different women trying to get healthy in a very non-judgy way. There’s a lot of useful information including how many calories you really should be eating based on your metabolic rate and how much activity you do.

  • Youna Kimi says:

hust did this at my walmart. thanks :)

    • Mary says:

Did they have to manually adjust the coupon or anything? I read the coupon and it says good on products indicated which would mean the ones pictured on the coupon, or am I wrong?

  • Tammi says:

Unfortunately I will not be able to score any deals at Walmart because I am boycotting them for the way they do their employees and so should everyone else!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • gege1804 says:

Me too haven’t step a foot in Walmart I don’t know in how long. They are on the naughty list and won’t get my money. Well to get back on the subject I will past on this deal. Clean living and exercise works for me :)

    • Beth says:

We should because YOU chose to?

      • Kalleigh says:

Good for you beth!!!! While everyone has the right to utilize their buying power in the manner they wish, doesn’t mean the rest of us should be pressured into boycotting just to have others approval. I believe Walmart is an innovative company who is committed to providing products at the lowest cost to their customers. This is something I value as do millions of other people as evidence by the millions who shop there on a daily basis. If the employees are really unhappy they will take their labor services to another company. However, I believe that most Walmart employees are proud of the company they work for and wouldn’t continue to work at Walmart if they were not being respected at work.

  • Colleen says:

    Everyone is so feisty today!

    • Patty says:

The old rule was that you don’t bring up religion or politics in polite conversation. I think we can add weight loss to that list :)

    • gege1804 says:

LOL I was thinking the same thing. Maybe everybody hungry thinking about this diet stuff :) LOL I know how I get when I get hungry I joke

  • Jessica R. says:

I lost over a 100 lbs in 7 months eating a raw diet of mostly fruits and walking two hours a day. I did eat hemp seeds and hemp powder for protein. This worked very well & very quickly unfortunately like every diet you have to keep up the healthy eating and the exercise or the pounds come back quickly.

I did try the old hydroxyl cut when it had fen fen & that made my heart race. =(

  • Maggie says:

This is getting way to heated, Let’s be kind.

  • Lauren says:

Wow! I looked at the comments and thought this was a hot topic about a free product, was I wrong! lol, lets all be happy today. Someone may want to take advantage of this deal, so lets not hate on everyone. Smoking clearly causes Lung and many other cancers, but yet about a third of america still does it. Eating processed junk can lead to obesity but yet many people will still endulge in fast food and cookies daily.

  • Jamie says:

Cheer up, people. Its Superbowl Sunday and we’re about to *hopefully* watch the Bronco’s win. Superbowl Sunday isn’t about a dieting discussion, its about football! ;)

  • 78Brownie says:

:O It only takes a person to state an opinion before people start to lose the best part of their mind. Wow. Let it go, guys. Hipsters are better than that.

  • Carmen says:

I wish I had more of these coupons! I use hydroxycut and love it. I only take one pill a day though. It gives me energy. If I take two at the same time, my heart feels like it is racing so I don’t take two. I think with all things, it works for some people and not for others. My husband uses haydroxycut max and has for years. He also takes it for energy and not weight loss. I would have to look at the bottle, but I think it says to take two pills three times a day. For my body… That’s insane! Like I said, I feel great taking just one pill–that’s all I need.

  • Ana says:

Its a debate in here for no reason. Collin is just passing along the deal and its to whoever’s discretion to use it or what not. There is no need to argue and get into a huge debate about this and so on. If you don’t want to do the deal than don’t have to make a big fuss about it or comment rudely about it. Enjoy your SuperBowl Sunday and happy coupling !

  • Mary says:

Can someone help me out with this. I don’t want to go to the store if this deal is not within the coupon limitations. The coupon states good only on products indicated. The protein shake is not pictured and thus not indicated or am I wrong?

    • Carol says:

Mary, I’m pretty sure if it says “ANY” product then it is any Hydroxy product, unless you have a nasty cashier. Companies can’t put a picture of every product they sell on a tiny coupon.

  • Amy says:

I think some of the comments here show that the groundhog made a lot of people very grumpy today with his prediction!!

I used this coupon today at Walmart with no problems and no beeps.

My interpretation of the coupon is that you CAN legitimately use it on the shakes because it says ANY Hydroxycut product, and even though it states, “Good only on product(s) indicated”, it doesn’t specify. As most couponers know, words supersede pictures, and the it says ANY.

  • Diane says:

    Three cheers for coupons!!! :)

  • stacia says:

it worked for me. bought 2 shakes and 2 bars. $1 overage on each. heck ya i’m going to buy the stuff!

  • Staci says:

Did anyone get this coupon in th Arizona Republic in Phoenix ? I bought six papers at circle k and nothing. :-(

  • tabatha says:

i went and tried to buy this product with the coupon at walmart and the managrr had said it was only good on the products in the picture. Even though i had pointed out it said “ANY HYDROXYCUT PRODUCT” anyone else have a problem ???? i also emailed corporate to get some type of feedback on the situation.

  • Carol says:

I bought the shakes and had no problems with the coupon at Walmart.

  • danny says:

This hydroxycut coupon says 5$ dollars any product but the fine print says on product indacated. I was made aware of this by the walmart manger.

  • Cole says:

I have 10 copies of SS from that week and none of them have this coupon. I think there was an error on someone’s part.
