Lynn, I’ve been doing the same thing and found that the really big mason jars are $5.99 at hobby lobby and then the glass stuff goes on sale for 50% off every other week so you can score the really big kind for $2.98. I find the bigger ones are good for things I use often so I don’t have to run back a forth to fill them at the store. 🙂
Love this….I am soooo going to try this idea. I hate storing in plastic because I don’t like warming up foods in plastic and end up dirtying up more dishes to warm things up. This will eliminate a step :o) Plus with our big family….it will simplify and speed things up.

Thanks for the tips, I picked up some of the smaller jars for $.79 and the larger ones were only $1.80 each. Plus I had like $5.00 left on a gift card from Christmas, so paid VERY little OOP.
