I have applied for the majority of House Parties that have been applicable to me for the past two years and still haven’t gotten selected for even 1 yet! Is there some trick? I notice some people repeatedly get selected, but I am sure many are like me. I just find it to be frusterating.

I did the pull ups one a few years ago and just got selected to do the go gurt party, my package just arrived today.
I’ve been a HouseParty member for two years now.
My very first party was for the Mad Men season 4 premiere.
Then I was selected for nothing for a whole year. Surprisingly, in these last five months I’ve been selected to hose 3 parties! In November, I was selected for the My Chinet Bakeware Party, In February I was selected for the Ortega Fiesta Flats party and just recently I was selected for the Nerf Rebelle Party! This Nerf one will probably be my most favorite so far! I’m excited to play with these toys with my nieces and nephews. 🙂
For those who are having difficulty or are frustrated with the selection process I advise to just apply for every party. Some are exclusive and olny available in certain states but those are actually rare. I apply for everything. And the ones I really want I always be sure to brag/post a conversation about the party – like ideas and thoughts I’d have for my party if I’m selected as a host. So far each time I’ve done that I’ve been chosen! It must really work. I’m not sure if that’s the “trick” but it does help tremendously. Also, keep a close eye out on the host spots available for each party. The most spots open (say 1-2,000) the better your odds.

I have never done a house party. And I was just wondering do you have to do anything after you get picked? Like write a review. And do you get to keep the items you get? Thanks in advanced.
The only thing you have to do is share your “party pack” and take a photo of your party and upload it to their website. I kept applying for parties for an entire year and was about to give up. Since November I’ve been selected 3 times to host parties. All my friends now ask when’s my next party ( I think they just like my cooking ).
Don’t give up! I was also about to give up on Read It Forward when I was selected last week.

I done 6 of them in the past few years. I just got selected for the go-gurt party! My pack just came today. I JUST applied for this Keurig one …. WOWZA, I hope I get it! That system looks AWESOME!!

I applied a couple of months ago and was selected for the first party I applied for. It was the pull up party. Hope I get this one!
To the people who have been selected to host parties, did you do any of the optional things like sharing your application on Facebook? I’m wondering how much influence those things have on who is selected.
I applied for my first House Party last week, AncestryDNA. There were tons of applicants. I found out yesterday that I was selected. I had read a blog post about “How to submit a strong application” on the House Party website. It talked about starting conversations, posting pictures, making a video and staying active on social media as well as commenting on posted conversations regularly. I did all but the video. In one of my conversations, I explained how we would celebrate my adopted son’s biological heritage at the party with things like country specific food, games, etc. I also mentioned who would be invited: family, close friends and our adoption group (possible target audiences for the product). It worked for me and we are excited to host such a special party. Good luck to all of you!
