Could you buy 3 suave naturals and use 3/1.50 coupons?

    • T

      Thats what I’m planning to do…Buy 3 Suave Infusions = $8.67, minus (3) $1.50/1 coups = $4.17, get back $5 GC +better than free!

    • Samantha

The coupons limit it to 2 per shopping trip.

      • T

My store is very coupon friendly and I never have trouble using more than 2 same coups per trip..They also always allow me to use 2 coups on B1G1 free items..I guess it depends on your local store…

        • Ashley57

It sounds like it is not the store policy (Target limits 4 like coupons per transaction) but that the coupon is only allowing two per transaction. It is a misuse of the coupon to use three in one transaction, if that is indeed correct. Could someone who printed it clarify?

        • Samantha

It’s not about the store, it’s about using the coupon the right way PER the coupon…

    • Lynn

Unilever coupons say ‘maximum of 2 identical coupons allowed in same shopping trip’.

  2. liezel

Yes u can..just did it last week

    • Samantha

Then you mis-used the coupon :/

      • Sussie

You have to do what’s best and feels right for you, and you alone. If someone is comfortable using 2 or 10 coupons, that’s fine too because it works for that person.

        • Tiffany

I am sorry Sussie, actually it really isn’t about doing what is comfortable for you or even what is right… Some people may be comfortable altering a coupon, but that does not mean that it is legal (or right for that matter). I am all for using 50 Coupons (for example) if it does not go against the wording of the coupon and if the store allows it, heck I have used more than that at a time of a single coupon prior to Target changing the limit to 4….But when you use more of a coupon than what the small print states, then it is absolute misuse because you are not using the coupon as it was originally intended by the manufacturer. Misuse of a coupon is coupon fraud and no better than altering a coupon because it is dishonest (I understand that once in a while there could be human error, but by now most of us who have been doing this for a while should know that basically any unilever coupon will have the 2 like per transaction). Ladies and Gents, Coupon fraud is also a prosecutable offense.

    • Tiffany

Of course it will work… Targets system limit is 4 identical……… HOWEVER, Just because it works… does not mean that it is right to do it… per the coupon, you are not supposed to use more than 2 per shopping trip. The wording on the coupon is like a legal contract is what you should go by… It is important to keep in mind that your store/manager/cashier can use their own discretion and limit the acceptance even further.

It is important to be honest, just because a cashier lets it slip through… you need to remember, occasionally individual transactions are audited by upper management, and corp. Also there is risk of the store not being reimbursed if the store goes against the redemption agreement… The reason I get so technical is that I have been ‘extreme’ couponing since before all these blogs popped up. Back when we had to do our own work. For those of you who have been around as long as I have, you can remember how much better coupons used to be.. higher value, more prints, more freebies, etc…. Such misuse along with all these people who want 15 mins of fame (TLC) or want to constantly brag about their stock piles… have caused these manufacturers to lower values on q’s, and stores to scrutinize more.

Has anyone’s store not included the $1.89 items? Mine has removed all the tags from in front of them and the tags say only items that have signs. I was wondering if I should try it anyway, maybe the system will recognize it and still give me the card or if other know that only the higher priced items work at certain stores? Thanks

    • Lin

I went last week and the 1.89 kids peach did not have a sign on it (actually either removed it or fell off, it had been there earlier in the week) but did generate the $5 GC. I have not tried any of the other 1.89 items.

    • K

My store had 1 sign on one variety but not on the others. I bought 3 of the variety with the sign. Sign said $1.89, they rang up $1.92 and did not generate a giftcard. I explained that there was a sign. The cashier was a little rude, said she didn’t think she could let me have it because it would be free and called a manager over. The manager was much friendlier and told the cashier to push it through. So I guess your experience may vary.

    • Leanne

The suave kids 2 in 1 shampoos were marked but I didn’t get the gift card. I was so excited about the Starbucks coffee deal that I didn’t realize it until I got to my car. I went to customer service and the woman was very nice and gave me the $5 gift card

  4. Lisa

These coupons are limited to 2 identical coupons per transaction, therefore the above transactions will not work. Sorry!

  5. racheal737

My target in Lawrence Ks does not have the 1.89 suave included 🙁 I checked last week.

  6. racheal737

The Target in Lawrence Ks does not have the 1.89 kids suave included. (I checked last week) but it would still be a pretty good price buying the ones priced at 2.89 🙂

  7. A

I was able to use a bunch of coupons last week to get a suave kids body wash (my store did include the 1.89 bottles), ponds wipes, and tresemme shampoo for a rockin’ 35 cents total after the gift card! My store is not always the greatest at putting promo/sale stickies on all eligible items so I would definitely take them to the register with you if you’re not sure (maybe with a back-up item in case that one doesn’t prompt the gift card).

  8. Pia

The other day I got 15 suave kids body was for $3.58 and also have the $5 gift card love target

  9. Mel

My stores are WIPED out here of Suave kids and Suave shampoos/conditioners. 🙁 Too many couponers in my area unfortunately for me to do this deal.

    • Melissa

Same here! Wish they would stock it again. But they never seem to do it!!

  10. youa

went to my target and notice that werent all tagged for the gc. And all was still in stock excepted for the ones that was tagged, decided to try it anyways and it was included, and im going back today. Think people just think the tagged ones are on promotion but it doesn’t hurt to try it out the ones that arent tagged.

  11. Inna

From all the comments here, it seems that my Target is the only one that charges sales tax on the original amount!
Does anyone else’s Target charge sales tax on the original amount?
If I were to follow the deal scenario that Collin posted, my total purchase price after coupons would come out to $4.67 + $0.73 (tax on the original amount) = $5.40 – $5 Target gift card = $0.40

    • Carmen

I don’t think Collin ever includes tax since tax rates vary by state. NC does charge tax on all products before coupons.

    • Sussie

California charges sales tax on amount before coupons.

  12. Crystal

this is a great deal. hopefully i can swing by my target before this gc promo ends.

  13. L

Kind of irks me when the headlines of these deals are written this way. This is NOT FREE. You are paying $$ and getting a gift card. Again, not free just because you get a gift card. I wish these would be more specific!

    • Amy

I always make sure to save at least 1 $5 Target gift card for these exact scenarios. That way I never have to pay OOP and I end up with another $5 GC to roll on a future deal.

      • Kim

Exactly! I have 2 $5 giftcards left from last week… So it’ll be free for me!

    • holly

Are you kidding me, lol? How about, “Thanks for the awesome deal! I can use that gift card next time I go to Target and that’s x dollars I don’t have to spend next time–therefore, these items are essentially free!”

      • Maile

holly, can I “like” your comment? exactly what I was thinking 😀

      • Rebe

        I am with you Holly!

    • Mona

If you will throw away the $5 target gc after your transaction, then you can say that the deal is not free because you lost the $$ you just paid.

But for couponers who go to target every week to shop the great deals, the $5 gc’s are as good as cash. Also, if you live in CA, you can actually go to Guest services and get $5 cash for your gc since it’s below $10 and it’s the law here.

It’s a mindset that takes time getting used to but yeah any store credit for stores you frequent can be considered as cash.

  14. Noor

Sometimes, I feel that people are not being grateful that someone is taking their time to write out a scenarios for others. Yes, technically it is not free but the point is it is a very good deal that you are getting. You can roll your gift card and stretch your dollar. Thank you Collin for all that you do.

    • Kayla

Absolutely! Collin is usually pretty good about noting when an item is free after gift cards and will usually write out “FREE + $0.0X money maker” when it’s only a few cents. The reason why I left my last coupon site was because they would constantly advertise “BETTER THAN FREE TOOTHPASTE” when the item costed $0.99 and the coupon took off $1.00. Yes, still a good deal, but it was their constant false advertising that made me completely switch to a more clear and honest Collin.

    • L

“technically it is not free but the point is it is a very good deal that you are getting.” Sorry, but Noor that is not the point. If something is free then it is free, if it is a good deal than it is a good deal. You can’t just throw around the word free when it is not free. Collin usually posts “HOT DEAL” or something like that when something is a great deal. For all the people that feel the need to comment that they think someone is ungrateful, whatever. Of course I appreciate this site! That doesn’t mean I can’t point out an inconsistency and maybe someone who runs this site will see it and make a slight change in the future, for the purpose of providing better clarity for the folks who visit the site. Maybe it’s others who are ungrateful and selfish for not taking the time to point out a small flaw in a site that they love, for the purpose of the site’s betterment.

      • Inna

L, beautifully said! I couldn’t have said it better myself!

I would also like to add, that everyone is entitled to their opinion and should feel safe expressing that opinion. They should not hold back for fear of other posters attacking them if they disagree. We need to make sure that we don’t express our personal opinions in a way that makes others feel attacked. Of course, we are all grateful to Collin for taking the time to post these great deals for us that enables all of us to save money! No one is saying otherwise. And judging from Collin’s comments on other posts when inconsistencies are pointed out, she seems to appreciate the feedback.

When I first started couponing, I took advantage of what seemed like a great deal at Rite Aid, but since I so rarely frequent Rite Aid and did not know that their UP points expire 14 days after the purchase, that great deal turned into an expensive mistake for me and also a learning lesson to read the fine print. So, I think that people definitely appreciate having the little details pointed out – knowledge that those with more experience and know-how take for granted – like knowing that Rite Aid points need to be used within 14 days or that there is still tax to pay on “free” deals.

We turn to this site and sites like it because we are trying to save money for our families. Everyone who comes to this site has their own unique financial situation. There are those who come to this site for whom .40 cents is equivalent to “free” and there are those who come to this site for whom .40 cents is not equivalent to “free.”

So for those here, who are quick to criticize those for whom the distinction between “free” and .40 cents is significant, please take a moment to think that perhaps that poster is in a different financial situation than you. Before posting a harsh critique of someone’s opinion, please at least attempt to understand where they might be coming from. We’re all in this together and should be supportive towards one another.

  15. Danielle

I was able to purchase 3 Suave infusions using 3 of the $1.50 off coupons no problem in Austin. Thank you so much Collin!

  16. holly

    Anyone try this in Boise/Meridian?

  17. Cannielle

Only the peach one included( kids suave).

  18. Leah

My Target was very nice, but they also said the kids 2 in 1 didn’t count towards the gift card promo but they gave it to me. The Starbucks sale wasn’t posted this morning, so I’m going tomorrow to hopefully get 4 bags with my 2 coupons. Hoping to get another 3 Sauve items but I’ll make sure I get all adult items this time instead of one kids item.

  19. Maile

My store had the Suave kid’s bodywash (no tears version) for $1.89 and it prompted the gift card no problem. I took them to customer service first just to make sure 🙂

  20. Priscilla

There are also these other Suave coupons. They could be used on a kid product, right? They don’t say anything about excluding kids.
Feb AY 2014 Suave, any product pg 25 $1/1
March AY 14 Suave Hair Product pg 2 $1/1

  21. Holly C.

If anyone was wondering, the suave dry shampoo with keratin is FABULOUS (and included in this deal)!

    • KAT

Sweet! Thanks Holly C.! I wasn’t going to do this deal but you had me at “dry shampoo”!
