Macy’s: New $10 off $25 WOW!Pass Including Sale & Clearance Items (Valid 4/15 & 4/16)

You can use this WOW!Pass on all sale and clearance apparel and select home items (exclusions do apply so be sure read the fine print on the coupon) in-store only.

Last time I wanted to use the $10 off $25 coupon on clearance I couldn’t because all the clearance in the store was marked either special, deal of the day, doorbuster, etc. and you couldn’t use the coupon with these marked specials. Kind of crazy since the coupon says you can use it on clearance. I looked through the ad this morning and it looks like again, all of the clearance clothes is a door buster or deal of the day type of thing. If anyone goes and has luck using the coupon on kids or juniors clearance can they post back?
I had that issue last time too and waited over a half hour for a manager who just threw her attitude around and didn’t want to listen to me.
I left upset and decided to go back in and went to another register and that cashier rerang it up and used the wow pass, with no questions asked. It was frustrating!
I had this same issue two weeks ago! The clearance in the junior section had a sign over that said special. I did not realize it until after I spent an hour shopping! I was so upset that I sent a complaint (worded very nicely) to their customer service. I just could not believe that in huge red letters the coupon stated ALL clearance apparel. My local Macy’s got in contact with me and they are refunding me the $20 since my total was $50 that day.
Same here. I feel mislead with false advertisement.
Happened to me too the last couple times they have released this coupon. I even picked up clearance items from a rack that did not have any extra special signage but when I got to the register I was told that it was a “special” and I couldnt use the coupon. Macys sales arent as good as they use to be.
I vowed to never shop at Macy’s again. I tried to use a Macy’s coupon and went to pay w. my gift card. They told me I couldn’t do that. I tried to explain that I am not buying a gift card I am using it to pay – like cash. They were like “no you can’t use a gift card and a coupon”. That is the most ridiculous policy!
Yes, I too noticed this when I went into Macy’s. I am sure there was still plenty of merchandise to use the coupon on, but for the frugal shopper it is a lot more difficult. Much easier to shop at stores like Kohls where you can use your coupons no matter what the sale is.
I don’t know if there really is much left to use the coupon on after their exclusions.
I feel the same way I completely ignore most of these wow passes because they are too deceiving.
Just happened to me 2 weeks ago too, I emailed them and told them about how disappointing it was since I spent over 30mins in the dressing room. I even told them that I will go to Kohls from now on since they don’t have such strange exclusions! The cashier was also very rude to me which made the situation even worse
Hi, I’ve never shopped at kohl’s. How similar is it to Macy’s?
The quality at Kohl’s isn’t as nice as at Macy’s, which is a much “higher end” store (although the last time I was in a Macy’s I observed to myself that the quality has gone down some). But I do love shopping at Kohls and can almost always find something I like. Everything goes on sale at some time or another and you can get some utterly fabulous deals. If a person were to only have one store credit card, I would advise that it be a Kohl’s card.
BTW, I will be shopping soon for a nice mother-of-the-bride dress for a wedding. Even though I love shopping at Kohl’s, it isn’t the store for such a dress. I will be checking out Macy’s, Nordstrom, and Dillards.
Kohls is my favorite department store to shop at! I save money by using % off coupons and kohls cash. I have excellent experiences with their customer service… You can return anything. I had shoes sitting in my sort for almost 2 yrs with the tags and receipt still. They let me return no problem. My sister had a Keurig from there that wasn’t working and they let her exchange without a hassle.
The clearance coupon is very deceiving…. I spent an hour and a half with my two girls trying on all the clearance clothes… got to the register and they wouldn’t take my coupon…. so what do i do? Put back the clothes that we took so long to pick out and try on; plus disappoint my 6 and 8 year old who were excited for their new clothes or do I suck it up. Of course I still kept the clothes but I feel very deceived too. (I realized after I purchased the items there was nothing in the girls clothing that was truly a coupon worthy clearance item)
I am so sorry you had such a horrible shopping experience! Did you have a chance to reach out directly to Macy’s customer service about this?
Same happend to me ( I was shopping at shoes department) and cashiers there were rude and like they are something special cuz they work at macys … I took all my shoes and went to kids department and there is awesome lady on register. She took all my coupons , no problem at all. She was so nice, and she told me that she is also couponer. Just try other department
I am at the store as we speak all clearance item are either deal of the day or doorbuster so annoying
Thank you for confirming this! Glad I stayed home today- like others said, not worth the time and dissapointment picking out clothes just to find out the coupon doesn’t work. I feel sorry for the employees actually because last time I heard many complaints from customers about the bad coupons. It isn’t their fault for the bad bait and switch sales tactic but the employees have to listen to upset customers the entire day.
Looked at all their clearance rack and it either marked special buy or deal of the day. Also the sale rack were brands that are excluded on the coupon. So strange :/
It is looking like Macy’s is using the typical “bait & switch” approach. Get you in the store for a reason that really doesn’t exist. I hate that. Happened to me at Ulta recently. They were having their “Beauty Steals” one-day sales. When I got to the store two days in a row, they were already sold out. That is understandable. Stores can’t be expected to have unlimited supplies. But the store had only received a few of the products to begin with for at least several of the items. So the truth is, they were “sold out” within the first few minutes the store was open. Customers weren’t supposed to know that, but one of the employees let it slip.

I ignore these! You can’t really use them on anything on sale. It’s false advertizing!
ill stick to kohls i had the 10 off 30 kids purchase and 30percent off so i got 1 pair of levis 22.99 one levis on clearance 14.99 one shirt 3.00 -10 off plus 30 percent my total 24.50 the cost of one levis woohoo and you can even use coupons on levis at macys
Anyone have any coupons for online ? I am going to Macys tomorrow to buy some stuff I put on hold until the sale started today/ I am having twins ( boy/girl) and we need so many clothes !! Every coupon helps !!!
I had similar experience with past One Day Sale with coupon with the Deals of the Day put above clearance racks. I made up for that this time i got $234 mens clothes for $32 after $20 off 50!
