no this is definitely universal and not ymmv. It is 98% of whatever the required purchase employees should know this also as well as corp bc it is not a secret type thing. $10.00 = 9.80, 15 = 14.70, 20 = 19.60, 25 = 24.50, 30 = 29.40 , 50 = 49.00 etc… I have shopped in different states and tons and different stores over a 9 year period of time and have never had an issue..
I forgot to add.. it has to be normal thresholds… not the ones where you spend either 20 and get 5 or 30 and get 10.

The one and only time I ever tried doing this I was three cents short and it didn’t trigger and the lady did not print them out for me. Because it is not written in any policy that I had available to me, I couldn’t prove them wrong.
My CVS will not print the ECB unless you spend the exact amount required or more. I have not gotten my ECBs b/c of two cents before. The employees just say that is the way it is. I live in Virginia.

I’ve done deals posted multiple times and they won’t print because I’m 2 cents short on a $20 purchase. I don’t know if it varies by region but you have to be at 100% where I am located.
It was probably a spend 20 get 5 or you could spend 30 and get 10… these are fairly new types of deals within the past few years at CVS and the 98 % does not apply to those. HTH… all other things it works on

My local CVS stores do not print unless you actually go over the $20. I’ve purchased things several times thinking the EB would print when I’m a few pennies short and they wouldn’t. The employees say that I have to buy something to push it over. After pushing it over the $20, it printed…
But what deal are you referring to? Any of the spend deals, like this week’s deal on the GM food items, it’s spend $15, get $5. 98% of $15 is $14.70, so any amount over $14.70 will be enough to trigger the buck. The total of my items was $14.94 and the ECB printed fine for me.
The only time an extrabuck won’t print short is a “tiered” deal. Those are the deals that say you have to “Spend X, get Y OR Spend W, get Z” For those deals, you have to hit the spend amount or more, as the 98% rule does not apply.

I did the spend $30 get $10 ECB on J&J products-2 benadryl anti itch creams, 1 neosporin and 2 band-aids. Only problem is with the $2 off benadryl topical coupon! It says “one coupon per person” so cashier wouldn’t let me use 2. The coupon machine did print out a coupon for $1 off 2 band-aid products (30+ ct) so that helped but just thought I would let everyone know.

It’s $9.99. When you buy it with 3 other Neutrogena products, it comes off free. BUT it’s also tracking as an item towards the 3 for the ECB deal. I bought 3 bar soaps @ $3.19 each, along with the tote and my receipt says I have 4 as the amount towards and 2 needed for the next deal. So the limit is more than 1. Also I had a %off, but the register did not apply bc the bars and bag are ringing as a sale item. So that was a bummer. But I’ll use it for the revlon tomorrow.

No you have to buy 3 for the tote to come off free. It’s just that the tote itself is also tracking as a quantity, so I think you could buy 5 items the tote (which would be free) and you’d get a $20 ecb.
I was wondering why my receipt said I only needed 2 more for the offer. I bought 3 soaps at the first store(no tote bags), and 3 soaps and tote at fourth store (no totes at 2nd and 3rd stores!) and now my receipt says 2 needed. I forgot the best part you can do the deal twice andthe free tote counts as a item so I bought 2 soaps and made almost a $4 moneymaker on my second transaction
Is the deal limit 2 on the tote too, not just the ecb? (When you did the deal the second transaction I mean)

Question please on the Renu deal. I received a $2 off of $8 any eye care purchase from the machine…..will this work on the Renu deal at $7.99 even though I am a penny short?
Depends on the cashier and CVS store. My store will push it through. But some cashiers either won’t (most likely their store policy) or else their store registers won’t let them push it through. It’s best to ask the cashier as you’re checking out. That’s how I learned that my CVS can push through these coupons and regularly do so. I still ask my cashier every time I need to do that just in case they say no (which hasn’t happened yet) and if that happened I’d probably try a different store or time.

Does anyone know if the 25% off cvs coupon will work for the L’Oreal Buy $30 get $10 ecb deal? (As in if the L’Oreal items are ringing up as sale even though they’re regular price?)
I called customer service today and I was told that if you buy something that is regular price that gives ecbs, then the %off qpon won’t work for those items. I called because I didn’t get % off for the 3 Neutrogena soap or for a hair color that wasn’t on sale. Grrrrrr!!!

Last time my cvs wouldn’t let me go negative in a transaction and said they could not adjust coupons so I hope it works!
As long as you have other items to absorb the overage, but it is ultimately up to the store if the want to adjust down or not.

The math is off in the essence of beauty deal,the deal is buy for $10 get $3 ecb, not $5 ecb. But on the other hand, though the lotions are priced at 1.99, when you buy 3 or more it is 1.66 each. I brought 6 for 9.96 and got back $3 ecb.
From what I saw on the signs at my store, the Neutrogena Deal is monthly through 5/24. I know they are running it almost every week this month so it will reset each week, and my receipt says a limit of 2. I did this deal last Friday before it hit the ads this Sunday.
