Is the neutrogena bar soap deal still working for everyone?

    • jessica

      still working today

  4. jiya

I need some advice from you hipsters. I am not a big couponer but I buy stuff from cvs which is at good price like cosmetics. I went there to see if neutrogena deal is still available. I met a cashier there she is very nice lady. She told me that they had a manager whenever I go there she tells everyone that I am a coupon scammer. I knew she dislikes me without any reason but never realized that she is talking bad words behind my back. I just don’t understand why she does that. I was feeling like crying. I don’t know how to deal with it?! She shows like she own the store & always give me hard time whenever I go there. I know I am doing the right thing saving my husband’s hard core earned money with coupons & helping him save for our kiddo. I was ignoring her…I don’t want someone loses their job because of my complain . What should I do? Collin what are your thoughts about that?!

    • Cinthia

Exact same thing happened a few times with a cashier where she would tell the customers behind me things about me and couponers stealing from the store for using coupons. She honestly made me feel really bad and almost to a crying point but i never stood up for myself. Until one day I called customer service and gave them her name and told them what she was doing and that i didnt want any trouble for her just for her to stop and better train her on the coupon policy. It worked and now shes extra nice to me. I always use the right coupons and i try to keep them on order but i still try to avoid her! So give them a call because there is no reason to be treated it that way. You have to stand up for yourself. Dont feel bad because you are not doing anything wrong. Good Luck! πŸ™‚

    • Kristy2

I would contact corporate. I went to a CVS where the cashier for no known reason wrote down my CVS card number. The manager of the store called and corrected the problem.

    • Elsie

I’m so sorry that is happening to you. I had a similar experience at CVS where the cashier was always rude to me, had an attitude, would never say hello or ask if I needed help finding anything, although he would to other customers. One day I asked him if he had a problem with me or my coupons or if there was something I did to him to make him treat me differently than other customers. He swore he didn’t feel like he was doing this but apologized anyway. I felt better after I asked him because although I’m not doing anything wrong I felt like there was an elephant in the store everyone I walked in. Since that day he always speaks when I walk in n offers to help me if I need anything. He also asks about my family and if he hasn’t seen me in a while he asks if everything is ok. I do feel like he’s being genuine. This was maybe six months or so ago and I have no complaints. I feel like this conversation broke the ice. Good lick with what you decide to do πŸ™‚

    • Jenny

I would call corporate and tell them an what the employee told you and not give them a name or description because you don’t want to get them in trouble. The manager can’t fire everyone. Or you say you are a customer that overheard the manager say that about a fellow customer as they were leaving and you thought it was very disrespectful. I have 3 cvs stores near me so I rotate each week so I don’t feel like when I walk in they’re like “oh there’s that lady”

      • jiya

First of all thanks to all of you ladies. It seems like I am not the only one who is being treated like that. I will give a call to cooperate. I was in shock to hear that. Who is she to judge me?? She don’t want to speak or say hi that’s fine but why does she wants to spread a word that’s not true at all? Everyone at that store is so nice & talks to me. I usually go there twice a month. Elsie she is so rude if you ask for something nicely she will start shouting on you. No one likes her there. I don’t understand what kind of people behaves like that!!

        • Cindy

They just jealous that we got good deal with coupon. That’s all.

    • Angelique

I just recently had this issue at CVS as well. I caught two ladies talking poorly about me. I was very upset and told the guy at the front that the two ladies should save it for the break room. There is nothing wrong with coupons, the store actually makes money when you use them, I reminded them of that fact. I haven’t wanted to go back to that Cvs but then I remind myself that I am doing nothing wrong, that saving my family money is what is best for us and those old ladies can take a hike.

    • Cindy

Don’t feel bad, I always ignored them. There’s cashiers name on the receipt, when they send you survey, just point out that cashier’s name.

    • Cindy

I know you are kind, but some ppl don’t deserve your kindness, you give them business, if they not treat you nice, then they loss their job. Company don’t care you use coupon or not, they make a lot of money from ppl who don’t use coupon, their price is much expensive than other store if not on sale. the cashier give hard time, first, they jealous that you save money, they don’t know how, second, they hate to organizer tons if coupon,

    • Amy

Jiya… I would call and speak to the district manager or whoever the next person is above her. Not to be mean but this cashier needs to be taught a very valuable lesson. I had a similar incident with a cashier at Target. I called corporate and they didn’t even ask me what store it happened at! So I called my store and asked to speak to “the highest ranking person in the building”. They must have cut her hours and talked to her because I didn’t see her for weeks and now she is super nice.

      • steph

Wow, all the CVS I shop at have such nice, helpful employees. I usually run into this at the W stores. (Greens, Mart)

    • Megan

I just wanted to say that if you have a really good experience at CVS, call corporate for that! Trust me, we appreciate it!! If you have a favorite cashier/store, please call 1-800-SHOP-CVS πŸ™‚

      • sarah

I had a similar thing happen around 2 years ago at my favorite CVS. While I was checking out (and a friend behind me who just happened to be there), the cashier mumbled under his breath, but loud enough where I, and the other people could hear, “CHEAPSKATE”. I laughed it off and joked with him how much I was saving and its now being a cheapskate, but being smart about my money. The next day, I went directly to the manager, who I always see and he knows me cause I shop at that CVS frequently, and told him the story. He was horrified and apologized over and over and even gave me a gift card for $20. That is not what I was after, but just to let the cashier know that even though I am a friendly and frequent shopper there, that was uncalled for and I was embarrassed greatly. The cashier was notified and he did apologize to me. Sometimes these cashiers just need a lesson in customer service and if it takes us doing it, then so be it. I don’t think this gentleman meant to be mean or ugly to me, but it was horrifying to me. He was so nice to me from that point on. I sure hope you can get this resolved and I would definitely go to the manager and further up if you have to. There is nothing wrong or illegal with couponing if done right.

    • lisa

Same thing here too. Except I live in the Rhode Island, which is where CVS corporate is headquartered. You would think they would have their act together in the state they are based in, but not so much. I went up the ladder to Corporate, and got a personal phone call from the store manager. I went in and met with him and explained the situation. Unfortunately for me, this cashier is a “lifer” and nothing has changed. She is still disrespectful, and treats me like I’m a criminal. I only go to that particular store for prescriptions (it’s 24HR and I pick up for my entire family). I usually checkout at the pharmacy, but I avoid that store at all costs for anything else. It’s a shame. Coupon training should be a priority if they are going to promote coupon use at all. Moral of the story: “you gotta know when to hold ’em, know when to fold ’em, know when to run, and know when to walk away.”

      • jiya

It feels much better after sharing. But why if we are right we have to be aware of everything. I don’t clear shelves from store. I don’t think buying 2 lipsticks or few other stuff is wrong. They are getting our business…yep sometimes we use coupons because it saves money. It’s their responsibility too to treat us right. Personally I think every person should respect each other.

        • lisa

I have said it before, and I will say it again. Yes, we are right as customers. Yes, we follow the rules, and are right morally and ethically. Yes, we deserve to be treated better. And until some educational standard is set in place by the corporations promoting coupon use, this is a neverending conversation. So, I say, try to see the silver lining: disgruntle cashiers make you appreciate the nice, kind, patient, educated, and understanding ones. Be grateful we (well, some of us) have other options such as other locations, chains, stores to go to. Stay positive. Kill ’em with kindness!

          • jiya

            Well said. πŸ™‚

  5. Cinthia

Thank you so much Collin and team for all you do! Happy {early} Mother’s Day!!!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

You’re most welcome! Thanks and Happy Mother’s Day to you all too! πŸ™‚

  6. monica

people r always going to have stupid stuff to say… u know ur not stealing i would definitely tell the manager or corporate. stand up for urself ur giving that company business (even though its not coming out of ur pocket but the manufacturers).

  7. Janet

I have a 1.50 off 4.00 for deodorant, does anyone know if I need to spend the $4 or is $3.99 good enough?! Tia!

    • Heather C

Depends on the store. I patronize my CVS frequently, and $3.95 or so would be perfectly fine. Lots of times it’s all about the relationship you have with the cashiers. I enjoy them and really treat them kindly and share coupons to help out their families too.

    • shopper

The system may just knock it down or the cashier should override it.

  8. vanessa

the popchips rebate of .51 is on checkout 51, not ibotta.

    • vanessa

.55 rebate, not .51 sorry! but it is on checkout 51 for sure.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

How strange! I only see it in Ibotta?!

      • mel

Popchips is also in my Ibotta gallery, not Checkout51.

  9. Linda

I like the addition (or maybe I just never noticed it before) of the “better deal at Rite Aid” That is SUPER helpful!!!

    • StephanieLT

      Agreed!!

    • Jeff

      +1!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

So glad you like it ! πŸ™‚

    • Celeste

Yes, this is an awesome addition to the list. Thank you!

    • Meg

      That was helpful! Thank you!

    • Kathy

I also appreciate the note that there was a better deal somewhere else.

    • Rebe

      I love it too! πŸ™‚

  10. lenmar01

You may get a better deal at Rite Aid and I have one close to me, thank you Collin for the nice touch that you added to the upcoming deals.

  11. Liz

Even though the ad says “excludes the firming lotion or trial” but when I logged in my account on CVS.com. MyWeeklyAd does say the Nivea Firming Lotion (the 2.5 oz I believe) is also included so I am all confused now. Hopefully it’s included so it’s a little bit of MM. I think last time they had the exact same deal and it was included. I bought the 2.5 oz bottles they smell so good and nice size to carry in a little purse during the summer.

  12. Amber

HI ladies on Nivea the 2.5oz will not count towards the $5ecb because this is considered travel size at CVS. Manager told me that even if the coupons say it’s valid on that size it’s in there travel section and not part of the deal. But it’s worth a try at other CVS’s
    #justAheadsUp

    • mel

2.5 oz worked for me. It’s a blue bottle that says Smooth Sensation and is reg price of $2.87. Also read the Q10 will also work for the ecb deal, but my store didn’t have it. These are located in the regular lotion aisle, with the other Nivea products, NOT in the travel section.

      • Brandi

2.5oz blue bottles worked for me. They were $3.19, but still mm.

    • Erin

The 2.5 oz bottles work. Good luck finding them, though! We have a store that carries them but they seem to stock only one at a time. πŸ˜‰ I found one in its place on the shelf and another misshelved. When I was in on Saturday, they had none. What do you want to bet that if the misshelved one had been in its place, the second one wouldn’t have been stocked at all?

  13. Cindy

Can I use the buy one get one speed stick gear, and the $2.00 off one speed stick gear? Thanks, and Happy Mothers Day!

    • Ashlynn

Cindy the only way you could use both coupons together is if you bought 3 speed sticks the b1g1 coupon requires you to get two and you would need an additional speed stick to use another manufacturer coupon.

      • Cindy

        Thanks Ashlynn!

  14. sam

can i use a 3$ off 10$ cvs brand baby item purchase and still receive the 4$ ECB?

    • mel

Yep, sure can! Coupons (whether its store or manuf) don’t have any bearing on ECB deals.

  15. Sue

I’m interested in purchasing Dreyer’s ice cream but in the ad, it just says, “sale! 3/$12”. Will I still get the $4 extrabucks? Thanks for your help!

    • linda

I did that deal but didn’t get any ecb.

  16. Lisa

I don’t see a link where it says “here” for the Eucerin deal. Help please.

  17. Lina

Can I use a cvs % coupon on a buy one get one 50% off?

    • Kidsallgone

      Prob not.

    • mel

No. Bogo is considered a promotional sale. Even if you only buy 1, it won’t apply the discount.

  18. Liz

Quick update: I just came back from CVS to do my shopping trip for this week. The Neutrogena bars are still included and producing ESB however the tote is no longer counted as an item. Also, the limit is 6 (18 items in total including the totes from previous week). For Nivea deal, the 2.5 oz bottle firming lotion or soothing lotion (the Q10 or blue botte, priced 3.19 and 2.99 respectively at my store) are included in the deal making it a nice >3 MM after coupons. Also, if you didn’t buy the newspaper this week to get the Nivea coupons, there are little samples at the facial and lotion aisles that have these $2 off attached to them that you can use to score this deal as well (MQs coupon with redeemable at CVS with a limit of 4 in one transaction). It has been so much easier these couple weeks for me to coupon since I normally come to this one very nice and friendly cashier who has never given me any problem before. Woohoo for another awesome week !!!

    • Liz

And don’t forget to check out all these samples (come in a small display between the facial and lotion aisles at my store) with Burt’s Bee Brightening Facial sample (come with $3 off any coupon). Bio Oil, Essene, Nivea samples (with $2 off coupon)… Also, there is a P&G coupon booklet at the display as well (all kind of goodies) and the last page is $5 of $30 any beauty purchase. I feel like walking in heaven now LOL !!!

    • amy

Where are the neutrogena bars located? I looked yesterday at my cvs and couldn’t find them. I checked by soaps. And by the cosmetics with neutrogena stuff and didnt even find a spot to see if they were sold out. Maybe mine doesn’t carry them?

      • Liz

It’s in the facial care aisle with all the cleanser and towelette. I found mine right next to the Neutrogena On The Spot Treatment (if I remember correctly the name). It’s kind of orangy as well (I mean all Neutrogena products are). If couponing is competitive in your area, maybe someone has already wiped off the shelf before you come in. Just ask any staff working there to see if they know where it is. If there are totes hung around, it’s likely that your store does carry it.

        • Erin

According to the Neutrogena display, the free tote promotion is not valid with purchase of the bar soap. I guess everyone’s been doing it anyway, but the sign specifically prohibits it. I was kinda bummed because my store actually had totes as recently as Saturday (though bars were sold out).

  19. Cathy

I really the best deals being highlighted in red! Can we go back to that?

  20. Cathy

    *miss*

  21. Cathy

I guess they are in red here’s how come no longer in the email? That was just faster.

  22. Sue

I have a question on the Zantac rebate from last week, the form says “Purchase price calculated net of any coupons” does that include ECB? I purchased the Zantac last week with 5 other products, I used the $6 coupon and other coupons and ECBs so only spent .95 cents. Now I’m wondering if I’ll receive the $11.99 rebate ($17.99 – $6 coupon).
    Any thoughts? TIA

    • Deb

I did the previous Zantac deal and they DID deduct the coupon value. Other people have said they got letters saying they were not eligible for the rebate, but I got mine without a problem.

      • Liz

I did the last one too and I got the full value in a check back (I used both ESB and MQ coupon). I have read a couple people got them back in full value and some got denial letters. Not sure why they would treat people differently, it doesn’t seem so fair. Did you buy the Zantac on its own coz I did buy some other things with it. Maybe they found it too time consuming to figure out the coupons I used on the product so they just give me the full value. Just my 2 cents

  23. Laine

The link is broken for this deal…Spend $20 on ANY Eucerin or Aquaphor = $8 Ecb (limit 1). Where do I get the coupons for this deal?

    • Sarah

      I agree I can’t print it either??? Hmmm…..

  24. Heather Pender

does anyone know the zip code for the colgate optic white coupon? Thanks! πŸ™‚

  25. Sam

My cvs has extra week deals this week. 12 packs of coke products 1.99 each limit 4, Gatorade large bottles and 2 liter coke products 79cents, lays potato chips 2/3$ plus I received 1.50 off 4$
Chip, nut, or cookie purchase from coupon machine making them 1.12/each when you buy 4, and edy’s icecream was on sale for 1.99 – when you buy 3 edy’s icecream tubs you get a 4$ecb making it 2$ for 3 tubs or .66cents each!

    • Kidsallgone

Were these in the ad? In Collin’s post? Or are these hidden deals u found out?

      • Sam

This was a hidden deal, they had a 1 page ad printed on regular printer paper and had it posted on doors and around the store. It was not included in the weekly ad

  26. Lora

I have a $3 off any $12 Hair color (Loreal, Garnier, Revlon) making a better deal on the garnier olia hair color.

  27. amberpalazzo

Wondering about the excederine deal. It’s total $20 but the total for 4 is actually 19.96. Will you still get the ECB for being .04 under $20?

    • nicole

CVS has a 98% rule so the ecb should print evn if it’s 4 cents short….colin has a copy of their policy which states it as well….bring it in with you so they can maually print it if it doesn’t by itself

      • mel

There is no written policy regarding the 98% rule. If you call CS, they’ll tell you there is no such thing. It used to be you HAD to hit the amount or over to get the extrbuck. Then a few years ago, I remember doing a deal. I knew I was going to be short b/c the store didn’t have enough items, so I’d have to finish it out at another store. It was like .10 or something, but to my (and the cashier’s) surprise, the ECB did print! After reading some different forums, someone calculated that 98% would be the max amount needed for the ecb to print. And it took off from there. The only time the 98% rule does NOT apply is when the offer is Spend THIS or Spend THAT, like the CVS brand bandages. You have to hit $8 for the $2 to print, anything less wont’ be enough.

So many people question these scenarios each and every week b/c they’re a few pennies short, that I think Collin should put a red note at the top and/or add it to the CVS Store Guide.

  28. mel

Heads up, the Nivea deal is no longer working for the 2.5 oz items. My friend tried today, and the ECB did not print. When I checked online, the 2.5 oz isn’t showing under deal details now.

    • Liz

Yup, mine showed it was included on Sunday but seems like they took it off. Ugh, the corp changed their mind frequently these days after seeing many people taking advantages of the deal.

  29. jo

I have a question for you, ladies. Can I use a coupon of 4 off a 20 purchase plus a $2 off when you buy vitamins (for example) on the same transaction?

    • Kidsallgone

      Yup πŸ™‚

      • kali

Can you also use a $2 off $10 in toothpaste, mouthwash, etc. with the $4 off $20 coupon? Not entirely sure if the category specific ones are also considered purchase based coupons..

        • Kidsallgone

          YMMV

  30. Diane

Did anyone else have a problem with the $2.00 Q for the excedrin because it said redeemable at Walmart. My cvs wouldn’t allow it. πŸ™

    • Liz

Your CVS should have allowed it. The only times they would not accept it is when there is a Walmart logo on the coupon or the word “Redeemable only at Walmart”. You may want to come in at different time when other cashiers work or go to a different store. Good luck !!!

      • mel

CVS policy says they do not accept 3rd party manuf coupons with another retailers logos, and according to CS, that also includes also mentioning the store name like Redeemable at Walmart. Believe me, I have gone round & round with CS on that, but they won’t budge.

        • Liz

I have used many of the “Redeemable at Walmart” at many CVS stores without a problem. The only time they would not allow or the machine would beep is when it has the other store logo or say Redeem only at …. I had an issue once with the cashier telling me I can’t use a coupon because it said Redeemable at Walmart on it. I just explained it to her and told her to scan it, if it beeped or gave her any problem. I would be gladly to take it back without using one. She did and it went through not a single beep so she knew that I was right and then she took all 4 of the same coupons and gladly scanned for me. So I think it’s worth a try because there will be many of them like those from coupon.com. Good Luck !!!

  31. Liz

I just bought the 2.5 oz Nivea smoothing sensation body lotion at CVS. I had no problem using the mq, but I didn’t get the ECB. Not sure if the deal is dead on that size or not, but it didn’t work in NC. Oh well, still a nice price for that lotion.

    • Liz

Yup, they pulled out theses size bottles from the deals. It was working perfectly fine for me on Sunday but on Tuesday, it no longer shows up on myWeeklyAd.

  32. Cathy

Collin, why are the best deals no longer listed in red in the emails? That was always so helpful!

  33. Sue

Would anyone know…I purchased the Zantac last week and used the $6 coupon, in addition I purchased 4 other products, used 3 other mfg. coupons and $15 in ECB so my out of pocket was only .95. Now I’m wondering if I will receive the $11.99 rebate since the form says “purchase price calculated net of any coupons”. Any thoughts?? I don’t see any contact info to call or email and ask. Thanks!
