I’m not sure how I feel about baby watching dvd in a stroller. πŸ™

    • Pamela

I agree—- if they are in a stroller chances are there are many other real life things going on they should/could be watching.

I am glad to read I am not the only one! I finally gave in and bought a portable DVD player for the twice a year 8 plus hour airplane ride to Costa Rica, but my kids are 4 and 6 and we watch one movie, the rest of the time we play, color, read books, chat, etc.

    • Jessi

Thank-you! If other people want to do this, I’m not saying this to make them feel bad, but I think our generation is way to focused on sticking kids in front of little screens, cell phones, ipads, dvd players, and electronic gaming systems.

We stick all this technology in front of our kids to entertain them and then when they are teenagers and aren’t interested in talking or interacting with us and they just stick their faces into texting all day or plug in head phones and tune the real world out — we wonder why.

Some things are great, but with so much technology we are loosing so much choice time for our kids to interact, get creative, and entertain themselves with this beautiful world.

Now I’m a real Mom and my kids are happily making messes (not so happy for Mom), I get it, do whatever you need to do to be the kind of Mom you are. Moms are amazing!

That was my first thought. How sad that a child in a stroller is to watch a DVD player rather than look around, think, and be talked to by parents/adults that are around. I am sure someone, somewhere has good logical use for this and will bite my head off for my thoughts but you will be hard pressed to convince me that this is needed, ever!

  2. Deb

Granted, I’m an old bat, but that second photo makes me terribly sad.

    • holi

      Me, too.

    • TraceyR

Me as well- babies are too young to be watching tv, etc… Just my opinion.

  3. Ger

It went up to $5.49 now.

  4. ~diane

Makes me sad to see the baby WATCHING anything in the stroller. Just expressing my opinion. πŸ™‚

I like stroller toys to keep them occupied. I wonder if having something like this may make parents more reliant on using the tube as a babysitter?? Perhaps if one doesn’t have it, they may not think tablet as a first option

    • Alison

I’ll be honest, me too. I can see a DVD player for long car/plane rides but I think there’s a real reason that doctors say to limit screen time (kids under two are supposed to have little to none).

  5. Brianna

The baby doesn’t even look properly buckled in.

  6. Crystal

Some people may want this just for the extra storage. Or maybe for a disabled child that has no choice but to be in a stroller/chair. Let’s not judge I bought DVD players for my kids for our first vacation. We drove 8 hours for 2 days to get to Florida and the same to get back home. Would have gone crazy without them. Oh and my kids were 7 and 1.

    • J

I agree Crystal! I ordered one just for the storage, I don’t plan on sticking a DVD player on it.

    • Jessica

      Thank you, Crystal.

  7. Brotin

Very bad idea… I don’t want any baby to start getting into these digital gadgets right from that age… They should see the beautiful world first!

  8. Dam

I like the organizer, I am would use the DVD pocket to keep my Keys, cell or wipes, I always lose these items and need them handy, I would not remember to charge and carry the DVD,

  9. Kristen

The picture make it seem like it’s useful for organizing things when you don’t want to take the full diaper bag. I figure it’s worth $8 for that purpose, though I don’t intend to use it with the DVD πŸ˜‰ (Are most strollers able to turn around like that for an older child to watch the DVD player? I thought they were always facing forward?)

  10. Elyse

I think it would be great as an organizer, but I feel guilty letting my baby ever watch tv. I would never let her watch while in the stroller! That is one time she is very entertained by just looking around!

    • Sara

Television can also be used for brain stimulation, my daughter loved Tom and Jerry, my granddaughter loves Paw Patrol and Sponge Bob. OMG she is 15 months and brilliant! Already talking, and starting to learn to count. Her mommy now earns top dollar in her executive position and it looks like our little granddaughter will follow her mommy’s footsteps to brilliance!

  11. DINGRealityCheck

I thought so too BUT then I thought what about when in waiting room for doctors and I’d rather have them contained instead of all the germies from the furniture and toys πŸ™‚

  12. Casey

    ay ay ay judging mcjudgesters!

    • Anonymous

Just because some are concerned about screen time for babies and how that will affect their social skills and their mental/emotional development and some think that it is sad to see a baby looking at a tv rather than the world around them does not mean they are judging anyone. I have actually only seen one judgmental post in these replies…

  13. Laura

Seriously, a kid can’t even ride in a stroller without a screen in front of them? UGH.

  14. Em

Seriously, can’t you people think outside of your own cicumstances as to why this may be a great product? Maybe a disabled kid with lots of doctor’s appointments wants to chill in his stroller and watch a quick episode of a funny cartoon to relieve some stress. Maybe the kid has a single mom who had to take him to a boring appointment at her accountants (where he can’t run around) and he wants to watch an episode of Seaseme Street.

Some people have different circumstances than your life- maybe you could think outside of your bubble?

  15. AMBER

Definitely a bad idea. Taking a walking in a stroller is exciting. It is a great opportunity to chat with baby. Gadgets are definitely giving us opportunity to not be in relationship with our children. So sad.

  16. Dorothy

I enjoy spending my time with my granddaughters. They get so excited going for a walk. Our grandbaby loves to get in the stroller. We enjoy looking at the animals and birds and listening to all the different sounds while we are walking. We sing songs and tell them about things I did when I was a little girl or when their dad was a little boy. I try to spend quality time with them and I feel like them watching a dvd in their stroller, we would all miss out!

Hi there! Do you know if they make any plugins to protect against hackers?
I’m kinda paranoid about losing everything I’ve worked hard on. Any recommendations?
