I have a question.. Is your tax calculated before or after coupons? yesterday I did a deal at target and my total after coupons was $0.35. but, my tax was calculated on $11.99? I ended up paying $1.02 in tax. Can anyone please help me with understanding this?

I think it depend on where you are. Here in Phoenix it’s before coupons too.
In IL, u have to pay taxes on the full price. The way i see it is Colin is giving an estimate.
Because tax rates differ between states, Collin doesn’t factor in the tax. The prices that she posts are what you would pay for item, but not including the tax.

I’m pretty sure it’s before coupons because even if you have a coupon that makes an item free you pay the tax on full price.

where does is say you get a 5.00 gift card? That’s what you posted about the Axe also but there was not a 5.00 gift card.
Hi Catherine! It is posted by the mouthwash. Target’s Customer Service should be able to help if you were supposed to get a gift card at checkout, but didn’t receive one.

Tax is usually on the before coupon price. The price she lists does not include tax.
Tax is calculated on the price after store coupons but before manufacture coupons..

Can you use the $5 off $15 coupon more than once? I used it once already yesterday on the Dial for Men/Tone deal. 🙂
I went to target today and was not able to use the $5 off $15 twice. I was using the mobile coupon. The 1st transaction went through fine. On my 2nd transaction the cashier scanned it, but the register would not allow it. There was an error message stating that it had already been used. 🙁
You can only use the mobile coupon once, But you can use as many printable and in ad coupons that you can get ahold of.
Good luck to everyone trying to use this with the $5 / $15 coupon. Our local Target will not let you use any additional coupons on the $15 to get the $5 off. Bummer!!

Just did the deal the only problem I had was the 5 off 15 wouldn’t go threw. I had nice cashier that called over manager and they didn’t know why so they just put it threw. 🙂 All other coupons went threw just fine. They thought maybe the 5 off 15 didn’t include that Act mouthwash.
The printed $5 off $15 coupon will never go through for me. The phone one worked better.
Same thing happened to me with the coupon from the ad. The mobile one went right through but the cashier had to manually type in the ad coupon.
If you use the 5 off of 15 with the 5 gift card they have to override it. For some reason it deducts 5$ off for the gift card to make it less than 15$. It took three (very nice and helpful) cashiers to figure it out.
Same thing happened here. She had to call a manager. But in the end all is well.

Not exactly. They scan the $5 GC which adds $5 to your total and then quickly deducts it since it’s free with the promo. If it was doing what you posted, then you would be getting an extra $5 discount and leaving with a $5 GC.

– $5.00 target ad deal
– $4.00 target coupon
-$ 3.00 mfc
Paid 3.09 with tax and get a $5.00 gf=mm yess so please match price.
Hi all just did this deal with the $5/$15 pc q at my local target in sunny California. Our prices are much higher for stuff like this. The ACT mw was not on sale for $5.89 as posted here 🙁 It was on sale for $6.99 (buy 3 for a $5 gc). I still got a great deal, but I was so disappointed when I saw how much higher our prices are. As Collin always points out, prices def do vary by region! I will be able to use the Target $5/15 again because my printable did not scan and the checker had to use a generic copy at the register. I had my mobile q but he just said he wanted to use his. I assume at my Target I can use one each day. I also had no trouble stacking cartwheel, and manufacturer q”s as well 🙂
