   I got the following “this promo code is only valid at certain locations and this isn’t one of them”. Wonder which locations it is valid at???

  Hi, Beth. I’ve found that if you reserve it online, at whatever location you choose, it works.

  I had the same error code come up at the redbox; I then reserved it online and the promo code worked fine for me.

  I don’t think so, but we’ve had great experiences with customer service at Redbox the few times we’ve needed it. I would suggest calling them BEFORE you pick up the rental as that would likely be an easier correction.

    This was my first time using Redbox..I reserved it online and used the promo code and it went through online and when I went to pick it up it charged my card $1.00.. Ah well still not a bad deal on a movie rental

  Did you “pick up” at the kiosk or “rent” it again? I’d contact Customer Service if you made a mistake and ask if they can help you correct it. We’ve had good experience with their customer service when we’ve needed it.

  Another thought — if you just happened to “see” the charge on your card by checking the card’s billing online, this may just have been their $1 charge to ensure it is a valid credit card and may not even be an actual charge. Companies often do this the first time a card is used, but it doesn’t actually result in a charge.

    Another code for online use only today is ERTP9888. If you use both codes just use each 1 separately in different transactions.

    I got a code sent to me in my Redbox app. Mine said “in-app” only, and I was able to reserve the dvd with the code while sitting in the parking spot, and it was ready by the time I walked up to the kiosk. First time I used the app and the reserve, and I was impressed:)

    Earlier today I tried it at the kiosk didnt work so went to my car and reserved it online with my smartphone amd it worked! Yes I was determined thank goodness for smartphones lol. Thanks
