Thanks Collin & Crew! I didn’t need 19 notebooks, so happy that I can mix and match. Thanks for all your hard work!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      You are so welcome! 🙂

      • Alicia

I purchaded 16 notebooks last night and got stuck paying 38.00, what did i do wrong?

        • Rachel

Never get stuck paying anything. If my total is ever higher than it should be, I ask for a break down at the register (and yes, I hold up the line, they will get over it), or I tell them I don’t want anything at all, and tell them I’d like it put back, because something went wrong with what my total should be. They are always nice about it, or help me figure out the price difference.

          • Lolita

Maybe she did it online and the price changed on her, or she expected it to change?

          • Alicia

I was able to contact customer service and get everything fixed. Very nice and helpful people. Was refunded everything and ended up paying 2.82 for 16 notebooks!! Thanks!!!

            • Alicia

Their system didnt apply the discount for some reason and they caught it when i called plus gave me free shipping.

        • Sherri McCoy

If you bought them online you had to put 24 in the cart to get the deal.

          • Heather

I got the deal and only purchased 16….strange.

        • Laurie

I tried purchasing 16 and my total was similar, then I figured out they were charging shipping so I changed it to 19 and the price dropped to .17 for each of them and free shipping. Which was just over $3.00. Hope this helps! 🙂

        • Sabrina

it is cause the deal is when you purchase 24 as a minimum.

  2. Tanya

I tried mixing and matching with the notebooks I ordered last night. It wouldn’t give me sale prices on the other items, since I had notebooks. There was a note that offers couldn’t be combined.

    • Suzanne H

I am having the same problem and can’t figure it out!

  3. Valerie

I just checked out.. Total would have been $78.71 but paid $19.56 after tax for a little bit of everything! It let me mix and match with no problems.

  4. jc010462

I purchased 24 notesbooks at $0.17 each and didn’t have to buy any other items…so I didn’t have to do the $25 minimum.

    • LaToya

Yes you did – the actual price on those was $1.61ish each – so buying that many took you over $25 and then you got the discount of $23.04ish which took it down to the $2.72ish purchase price (the ish I am using based on my numbers from my receipt).

  5. Jodi

My accountant told us that school supplies are tax-deductible, so I’m going to save receipts this year. YMMV.

    • Meg

They’re tax deductible if you’re a teacher or if you’re donating them. Otherwise, I think you need a new accountant!

    • Jen

We homeschool and can’t deduct supplies on taxes. How do you deduct?

      • katie

I am a teacher and my accountant told me that the 2013 year was the last year teachers can claim anything up to $300 on their taxes. We will be getting it cut back if not entirely cut. You can deduct if you own your own business as a charitable donation, but you literally have to denote the school supplies, not just use them for your children.

  6. Annemarie Riley Guertin

Thanks Collin! Teacher here who has to purchase her own supplies!! I saved a ton and remember to go through ebates for an additional 2% cash back !

    • Lauren

Remember too that teachers should get higher limits

  7. Traycee

I did two separate orders and I was able to get the notebooks that way.

  8. lae

I hate that it is only online. I would rather go to the store any day over ordering online. I hope that they have these great deals in the store soon! I love back to school shopping. I love using my own money for the supplies. 🙂 🙂 (I am not kidding!)

    • Kara

These were the prices for notebooks in store as well

  9. v

I know it may vary by region but as a mom of a soon-to-be kindergartener, I’m a first timer: are these all fantastic deals or will my other school shopping options(walgreens & walgreens) have better deals later?

do you have a list of target prices for school supplies???

    thanks!

    • Jodi

Check your school website for a list of items needed first. These are good prices, and more importantly, save you the hassle of running around to get items at several different stores. Plus, they’ll have what you need now, rather than almost-what-you-wanted.

      • v

thanks…I just found it as you posted it! 😉
        love this type of post.

    • Amanda

Good questions! I’m in the same boat and would like to know too!

    • Kelly

I always start shopping in the summer for the basics, crayons, colored pencils, markers (get washable for Kindergarten), paper, scissors, then finish when we get our “official list”. We don’t get that until the week before school. I always donate extras to the school. We are a Title I school and have lots (I mean lots) of kids who show up with nothing. My teacher friends are always very grateful. I am a Mom of a soon to be 4th grader and kindergartener).

  10. Pamela

Thanks for head up and I will pick up few things my son needs for his fourth grade class in this Fall.

  11. Mary

I’m a social worker in a Middle School, and it is so nice to have extra supplies on hand for kids who don’t have it. Plus, this deal is awesome because I did not have to leave my home! I have three kids myself who are 5 and under and dragging them from store to store to get all the deals cam be tiresome! V, these are awesome prices on everything. This was my order.

    • Mary

      Total $34.72!

    • Sandy

      Thanks Mary! Good Job!

  12. Kristina

    Thank you! This will help!

  13. Aza Goff

I tried the mix and match approach but not all the coupons were applied.
    Do you have any suggestions?

    • Traycee

Place one order (make sure it’s over $25) then go back and place another order for the notebooks. I got it to work that way.

    • Christan

Reset amount to 1 and then add up from there. The filler paper wasn’t giving me the discount on 6, so changed to 1, then it added the discount and I was able to change to 6.

  14. KimW

Getting same message as Tanya when trying to combine. So I think I would try two order and now it’s taken the discount off the notebooks!! Ugh frustrating

  15. Dolls

    is this online only?!

    • Laura

      In store also

  16. Courtney

It says that the notebooks are out of stock 🙁 for the wide-rule ones it says there is a limit of 6 for which the discount applies. I tried to get 20 and it was going to be around $30.

  17. Laura

I just came from Staples and pencils are ringing up for 68 cents! I bought 12 packs as my youngest seems to burn through them like crazy!!

    • Dan

Which pencils are ringing up for 68c?

      • Laura

        Staples brand

        • Laura

          Sorry 12 count

  18. steph

will there be better deals closer to school starting? According to the price point document that was posted, these deals aren’t so great…

    • Christan

For me and my 4 kids, I’ll pay a little extra to save hunting down 8 different stores and the gas it takes to get the absolute best deals.
There will be better deals if you are willing to drive to get them

  19. Jessica

    Thank you so much!

  20. Charlotte

I’m having issues… My total is at $24, after a $6 discount, however, the items I put in my cart were supposed to be MUCH lower. Why is that?

  21. Cscott

Thank you! My twins start kindergarten this year! I also found 6 pack of dry erase markers buy I get one free. Which makes them .58 each

    • Dee

was this online or in store? do you have an item number?

      • Cscott

Item # 852480 you add 2 to your cart and at checkout you and coupon code 83312 and that deducts 6.99.

        • Bobbi

If you want color markers instead of black, it’s item 852479. The B1G1free makes them about $3.50/pack, or $.58 per marker. When I read the comment above, I thought they were $.58/pack. As a teacher who goes through tons of markers (and I hate the black ones) I was excited! Lol. It’s still a good price if they are good markers.

          • Scotty

Your right. I forgot to include the color markers. Our teacher requested black markers for some reason! Still happy to donate supplies at a reasonable price!

  22. Jennifer

Can you do a break down of how to get the prices. I removed the notebooks and it is still not adding the instant savings.

  23. Rae

Having a nostalgic moment here when they had 400 sheet ream of ruled paper for .20 and the 250ct was .15… back in the mid 90’s. My dad got enough to last me through high school and a semester of college LOL!

  24. Martha

Do you get free shipping to home or just to store?

    • LaToya

With the Staples Rewards it’s to your home.

  25. Kendra

get 2% back on ebates too!

  26. Hilary

Our daughter needed highlighters and I found this deal! Free ones for me!
“Get a Free Bic Brite Liner Grip XL Highlighters 4/Pack (Item# 569975) with purchase! To redeem offer please add Item# 104869 & Item# 569975 to your cart. At time of checkout use coupon code 13873 to get item# 569975 FREE with Purchase!
**While supplies last. May not be valid in combination with other offers. Offer subject to change.”

    Offer Expires on 07/05/2014

    • Myrene

I tried doing this deal but realized that item #104869 is a dozen of yellow highlighters and thought would not need this much of a kind so I took it out of my cart and decided to keep item #569975 with the coupon code 13873 and it allowed me to still have it for FREE at check out without purchasing the other one! awesome!!!

      • Christan

        Worked for me too!

      • kat

you got the 4 pack color highlighters for free right? i tried it your way and it worked! thanks! did you try changing the quantity to more than 1 to see if it came up free?

    • Paola

Mine came up as $0.20 each :/ Still a good deal though! Got 6 sets for a total of $0.60 😀

      • Paola

I mean six sets for $1.20. My math skills are definitely non existent at this point of the day, lol

  27. Kviganas

Walmart had a bunch of school supplies on clearance yesterday. I scored on the 10 pack of markers for .49 cents each! There’s a bunch of things a teacher can use for next school year!

  28. eas

THis is crazy. I can’t get to $25. Everytime I get to $25, one of the coupons automatically comes off and takes me down to like $19. It’s a never ending cycle.
Fro example, I put enough to get $25 in my cart, and only the coupon for rulers came off. That lowered my total below $25, and the rest of the items auto coupons said my total was too low to be applied.
So unless it’s working incorrectly, the minimum seems to really be forcing me to be way above $25!

    • momof3divas

I had a similar issue but my total ended up being $22ish in the end. I had to have $25 each time to get another coupon to apply itself. I was still happy though because I got a huge head start on our school supply shopping for $22 and I didn’t have to leave my house. I love that!

  29. Pat

I couldn’t get the sale prices either.

    • Charlotte

I figured it out. You have to hit $25 pre coupon codes for it to work. I’m just going to go by my local store this afternoon. With a pre-schooler and a kindergartener, I don’t need that much. 🙂

  30. JEH

If anyone is spending over $100 (after the discounts above) , there is code that you can enter : 8938212599766863 that will take $20 off $100 also.

  31. Jay7910

It worked for me but I did have to keep adjusting items. This is what I got: 8 notebooks, 6 #2pencil boxes, 3 eraser 3/pack, 6 box of crayons, 2 pencil sharpeners, and 6 boxes of markers.
    Total=21.65

    • Jay7910

Dang just realized though it charged me full price for 2 of the notebooks. Good thing I didn’t hit submit yet.

  32. Mary

    Has anyone gotten their confirmation?

    • Alicia

I placed 2 seperate orders and never got confirmation email. I had to call customer service. Apparently the website is screwing up but they were able to help and get me the stuff. Nice person also i spoke with.

  33. Katie

Thanks! Just got a bunch of stuff for $22. I splurged a little and got a big box of glue sticks, but I hate trying to track those down, especially when I need 36 this year!

  34. Kris

I went to check out and it emptied my cart!!! wth?

  35. Lucy

I got stuck paying $40+3.68 tax!! It gave me the discount and I was only going to pay $5and some cents but the price changed after I payed and I noticed it when I looked at my order receipt! I canceled my order but I’m still waiting to get my money back.

  36. Krissy

Need more breakdowns- my total is $60 I see all discounts but I can’t get it lower ;<

  37. Melissa

    Awesome deal! Thanks.

  38. Alycia

Do you know how the 5% cash back is awarded? I have 10 coupons listed so I’m worried I don’t get that (it says you can’t have more than 10) Either way I’m still happy. I had over $200 in my cart for 50 items and now I’m only paying $85.02 … which includes a new desk chair that was only $39.99 since it was 50% off!

  39. Mandy

Just spent an HOUR trying to get this to go through. Now I’m on the phone with customer service. I’m wondering if it’s all worth it by this point!

  40. Babzko

It seems to me that they’re applying one coupon at a time when I mix and match. Then I have to add something else to get the total to $25, in order for them to apply another coupon…

    • Jay7910

If you talk to someone via live chat they should adjust it for you.

  41. ihearthip

This is also great stuff to stash away for road trips and stocking stuffers! Thanks, Collin!

  42. E

Am I the only one who shops 75% to 90% off clearance after school starts and saves for next year? I have a tub in the attic. I also buy all the school supplies I see at garage sales (pens and pencils especially they’re usually free!) to divide up. I keep a stash for the inevitable “mom I ran out of…” and give the rest to the kid’s teachers. I hardly ever spend more than $100 a year (we did buy an expensive calculator one year and a laptop another) for my herd AND a big pile of donations.

  43. lisa

I could not get this to work online – but when I went to the store (I have one 2 miles from me) you did not need a $25 minimum to get these prices.

  44. pgntgrl27@yahoo.com

I need 16 boxes of crayons but the limit is 6 :/ and I think Wal-Mart has them for this price when school supplies come out

    • sarah

Walmart has Crayola for 40 cents, Rose Art for 25- at least last year.

    • Tiffany

The crayons usually go for .25 when it gets closer to the beginning of the school year.

  45. Heather

    Don’t Forget glue sticks $1.25 for a 4 pack

  46. Sara

Thanks so much! Got a great start on the school supplies and had an $8 reward coupon to use so I made out fantastic, woot woot!

  47. Heather

Other cool things I found on sale:

    34473 Scotch® Brand Duct Tape, Fourth of July, 1.88″ x 10 Yards $2.05
    190131 Post-it® Super Sticky Full Adhesive 3″ x 3″ Line-Ruled Pastel Notes, 4 Pads/Pack $2.19 4 Pads/Pack
    635713 Staples® Mini Twist-Up Crayons, 12/Pack $1.58 12/Pack

    647764 Staples® Book Rings, Assorted Colors & Sizes, 16/Pack $0.75 16/Pack

  48. Sarah

Thank you so much for posting this! Instead of going to different stores to get school supply deals, I was able to get a lot checked off my list from home!!!!!
