I just made an appointment for two of my daughters. I figured we could do that and then go to a few other places with coupons. I am excited. I am going to try to get hair done, eat and a snack for under $20!

Hi Amanda I go to Ulta regulary for my hair style and cut. Price that I’m paying is $36 and than I always give $14 tip so I round up my bill to $50. I love that salon and my hairstyler Beth. I would say if you like what they do you can tip them at least 20% IMO
I tried to do this once. I got there 10 minutes late (yes, my fault) and they said they wouldn’t do it. There was nobody else there getting their hair done or waiting! The woman couldn’t give me any reason other than I was late and she was not friendly at all. I was so confused.
Too bad, but late is late sometimes. Especially when people are doing it for free.

The website says that blowouts are $26; I would tip 25 % of the listed price.
Thus great service and a free perk. I got it done last year. I however reacted to their product and had a itchy scalp the 2 following days. Just something to be aware of. My husband had the blowout too ( yes men are invited too) and he did not have any reactions.HTH

I never go to anyone who doesn’t regularly do black hair. They can really mess up.
Blowing out your hair with it being wet may cause breakage
I don’t know why they wouldn’t do an AA client… I am a cosmetologist and when I went to school we learned about ‘hair’ not “race’.
I wish we had good stylists at our local Ulta. I got a free blowout for a grand opening recently and they did a terrible, rushed job. My hair ended up really frizzy. The sad part is that I had never had a blowout before and I was doing it for my graduation the next day in hopes of saving time (totally backfired!).
Just set up my apointment, of course i have never had one, but i guess this is my chance. I have shorter hair, but they said anyone can get one.

Somehow I got booked for a Pure Minerals make up event at my Ulta as well as this one this Friday with my friend, it’s going to be a fun night out, making the hubbies take us somewhere nice afterwards since we will probably look great. Thanks so much Collin, this is a win all around for me!
I used to rep for a cosmetics company inside ulta. The reps work on commission so if they’re doing a full face it is customary to buy product as well. They book you with hopes that you’ll like the look at but product then, as opposed to later. I’ve worked those promotions before and have had people love the look then walk away. That can hurt someone’s numbers. Nothing in the beauty industry is really free.

Maybe a silly question, but what is a blowout?
I called Ulta on 104th in Thornton, CO. i was told they have no idea who is doing this event so they can’t book any appts. They took down my name and number and I was told I was “second” on the wait list. They also told me that the manager will be in at 12:30 and that she would call me with a time. I called at 4:30 which gave the manager 4 hours to call me. So I called again today and was told that only ONE person is booked for this event…ONE hair stylist. The lady told me she has a call into the regional manager to ask if a second stylist could come and help on Friday and that she would call me back this evening. I’m not holding my breath. Funny how I called RIGHT AWAY when I say this post but yet no one at Ulta can help me or make me an appt. Ridiculous !!!!
