Does staples price match?Toys r us has bogo on Crayola crayons and markers that ends today. Would be nice to pair with staples current sale on certain Crayola of $2.

Really frustrated with my Staples store. I went in last week to purchase pens at a great price ($1 and $2 per pack). They were out of stock. I asked the sales associate helping me if I should check back later in the week or if they offered rain checks. She said not to worry about it – they were keeping their sale prices on school supplies until August so I could just check back later. Lo and behold, I went in today and they weren’t on sale. When she tried to ask the assistant manager about it, he dismissed it, saying that he couldn’t change prices on items. She acknowledged that she had told me to come back, but he didn’t care. I went ahead and purchased the items on my cart, buy I will be spending my dollars somewhere else.

Will you do your stock up price list for school supplies this year?

  9. Dallas

does any one else feel the staples deals have been lacking this year so far?

    • Cat

      Yep, the other stores too.

    • Crystal

yes. last year deals was a lot better in m opinion.

    • Carol_R

Yes. No 1cent deals or free printer paper with rebate deals.

    • CW

I have heard Staples is in financial trouble. That could be why. Also, a lot of educators shopped their sales because they took limits off for teachers who pay for everything out of pocket. Well they stopped doing that. I stopped shopping there two years ago. I know many educators who did also. And it’s not just the back to school deals, they stopped shopping there year round.

      • Holly

I stopped shopping at Staples a few years back when they denied a $50 rebate that was submitted correctly and on time. I also know a lot of teachers who don’t shop there any more.

    • M

Yes! I am very disappointed so far.

    • gypsemommyX4

Staples must be having a financial crisis the one by my house and by a cal state closed now were down to one in a 40 mile radius 🙁

  10. v

I’m disappointed that my order for the $1.50 sharpie markers was cancelled from the deal that was up recently.

  11. Jennifer

How do these prices compare to Walmart?

    • Holly

I do most of my back to school buying at Walmart and Fred Meyer. Both often have really good prices, and don’t always advertise everything in the weekly flyers. Right now, folders are 15 cents and crayola 24 crayons are 50 cents at WM. FM has 70 sheet spiral notebooks for 19 cents…too much more to list. I donate most of my purchases to underprivileged teens, so it’s really important to get the best possible price.

  12. Jennifer

I want to get everything in one trip unless staples is a lot cheaper.

    • Shel

You can take your ads (Staples, Walgreens, etc,) with you to Walmart, and just price match anything that isn’t already cheaper.

  13. camille

Does anyone know about price matching the PaperMate InkJoy OfficeDepot/Max price at Staples? If Staples has them for $4 on sale, and OfficeDepot/Max has them for BOGO, could you price match at Staples for $4, plus BOGO? Then each pack would be $2. I’m just wondering how it works if you do a price match where both stores are having deals. Thanks in advance.

    • Lauren

Some of the ink joy stuff was marked at $3 @ office max. I got 2 packs if multi colored pens (no fancy caps or anything) for $1.50 each.

Where’s the paper ad in my Sunday paper? It never comes anymore. I know the ad is online but I like to have the ad to circle what I want and take it with me. Do they not send it out anymore?? Disappointed with the bts sales too.
