How is the produce at Sams Club? Is it cheaper to buy it here than at a grocery store? Thanks!

    • Jennifer

I like the quality of the produce! In terms of price, it’s slightly cheaper than regular prices at other stores like Meijer. However, it’s the same or more expensive than sale prices at Meijer.

    • gpyen

The produce at my local Sam’s Club is hit or miss…and many of the dairy products have short expiration dates. In my opinion, the produce at Costco is fresher and won’t spoil before you have a reasonable amount of time to eat it all. I wouldn’t get a Sam’s Club membership just for produce, but they have cheaper other items (like Eggsland Best Eggs!)

  2. Robyn

This is great. Been wanting to go back to sam’s club for a while now

  3. Toni

I’ve never found deals at a warehouse. I do like the free sampling.

    • tef

Costco is better in my opinion ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Kathy

If my membership expired, would I be eligible as new member?

    • K

I would call your Sam’s club though. I bought a similar deal from zulily and my Sam’s let me use it to renew.

      • Kathy

Thank you K, I will give them a call ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. brandice

Not good on renewals….my membership had expired 2 yrs ago,and they would not let me use an offer like this ๐Ÿ™

  6. gpyen

I did this last year and my membership expired in June. Can I register this under my husband’s name, even though he had a “complimentary” card on my old membership?

    • C

I called and asked this exact same question a few months ago when there was a deal like this going on, and you can. We didn’t do the deal then, but will this time.

      • gpyen

        Thanks for letting me know!

  7. Karla

Just remember there are no coupons accepted at sams! That is why we left. We went to BJs instead. Better produce and they take lots of coupons!

    • Simi

I second BJs. I compared prices at Sams, BJs and costco. They were all about the same, but love that you can stack manf and BJs coupons to save even more. BJs had the best offering of organic items too. BJs will have a deal like this too. Got one the last time Collin posted.

  8. Laura

    I’m
    Sticking with Aldi

    No membership fees

    Cheap produce

    • meg

I agree! Love aldis! Produce is wonderful

    • Thelma

I only buy produce at Aldi these days. They have the best prices and I’m never disappointed in the quality.

    • Kanani

We love Aldi’s prices, especially on their produce, milk, and eggs. But the produce is hit or miss at the Aldi stores in our areas.

  9. lisab

Is this offer valid at all sams clubs I am in Mississippi, and when I try to sign up for groupon it says TX.

    • Anna

Yes, you can use it at any Sam’s Club location.

  10. Jessica

I am lucky enough to have a Sprouts store near me and an Aldi. Those two, especially Sprouts, are my produce go to stores. Aldi is hit or miss. Sprouts is always AWESOME….cheap, fresh, and local farmers when possible.

  11. spi_cy13

I wish they allowed this offer on renewals!

  12. Casey

I wish they would come back with the Costco deal!

    • Liz

I have observed that after a month or 2 of the Sams club deal,Costco also comes with some subscription deal…at least they have the last couple of times…im waiting patiently for the Costco deal..sorry Sams Club..im not biting.

  13. Suzie

    Collin, you’re famous now!!!

  14. ND

I wish Sam’s club would have promotional offers for existing members to renew. :/

    • Gina

      Agree

  15. James

    • nicolegammeter

      You’re welcome, James! ๐Ÿ™‚

  17. Gina

I tried to buy it.. Said there was an error with my payment and try a new card.. Did so now it says I exceeded the limit ๐Ÿ™

  18. Deeanna

Hi Collin! If any of your readers live near a Giant Eagle grocer store they sell Groupon gift cards so they can get fuel perks for purchasing the gift card and then they can go to Groupon and get the Sams Club deal! We are all about saving money any way we can ๐Ÿ™‚

  19. Tory

I did this groupon last year and it included two cards for two people. They said that we didn’t have to be in the same household, so consider splitting with someone to make it extra cheap!

    • icicle

Thanks for letting us know. Do both persons have to be new at sam’s to get this deal? or one new customer is enough?

  20. Emily

We did this deal last year and found that we made it up in just gas savings alone. One week it was 40 cents cheaper than the gas at the local grocery store. Even with gas points from the grocery store, we make out at Sams. We also found that their chicken breasts and pork loin is cheaper than the grocery store and higher quality. That’s really all we ever buy there b/c we do better with coupons but sometimes we need something that’s a better deal there – like feta cheese.

    • Emily

At the end of your year, they’ll send you a statement in the mail saying you can renew in the mail and just send in a check. There was a flyer in that envelop that allowed us to renew in-store for $45 and receive another $20 gift card. We did that, so remember to keep your eyes peeled for that renewal notice.

  21. Shanshan

Wow this is better than the military/veteran day promo we got, which was $45 for 1 yr membership, $15 GC, Free roast chicken, croissant and strawberry shortcake.

  22. mindy

also sam’s has new master card which give you 5% cash back on gas (Samโ€™s Club and Walmart fuel stations, excluding fuel stations located at or that are part of warehouse clubs and certain supercenters and supermarkets) and 3% dining and 1% elsewhere all year long.

  23. Becky

I received a pass in the mail for a free 1 year membership. I don’t know why, but I’ll take it!
