What’s the big deal with this detergent that hardly ever goes on sale and is highly scented? Please someone clue me in TIA ๐Ÿ™‚

It was really good at getting formula stains, as well as others, out of my daughters clothes when she was a baby.

I’m not sure. I got a bottle of Dreft from my baby shower that I used but after that I switched to Purex Baby. I believe Purex baby advertises that’s it’s lightly scented, dye free and hypoallergenic which seemed like good qualities for brand new baby skin. I was able to get it on sale at Winn Dixie for the regular Purex sales prices and use coupons so the cost was about the same as the regular detergent I was buying and I’ve always kept my daughter’s clothes in a separate hamper for convenience anyway. If I had another baby I’m not sure if I’d bother with special detergent but as a first time mom it seemed like something I should be doing so I did ๐Ÿ™‚

There is nothing special about Dreft, except it smells nice. Having the baby on the label is for marketing purposes, to make consumers feel it’s for babies. In fact, it is NO different from any free and clear detergent, that will also remove stains. And it’s tremendously overpriced.

    • Laura

You should always use an unscented product on babies clothes so I have no idea why people buy this product.

I LOVE the smell of this detergent!

    • Marlene

Kmart actually had the powder on sale for $9 and some change during the week of double coupons up to $2. I had several $2/1 coupons which made for a great deal. I’ve also bought it from lowes on clearance in the past for 50% off through a deal posted

I just bought avalue box of diapers yesterday at original price! this 8 dollars off would have helped!! ahhhhhhhh

      • LB

Sorry ๐Ÿ™ I know it’s a pain, but you could probably go back and get it adjusted for the coupon.

I love the smell of this but I just use our detergent for our babies clothes. She snuggles up to us so I don’t see the problem. She doesn’t have sensitive skin. Plus why would I wait and do a whole load of her clothes? I don’t like to let dirty laundry pile up. It smells like baby but don’t see the point in buying this expensive detergent.

Ivory Snow works just as good

  8. Arielle

I got dreft for a baby shower gift, but after I ran out, I started buying All free and clear mighty packs for my daughters clothes and love them! I even WON the All Free and Clear Mother’s Day contest and won 6 months free of All Free and Clear laundry detergent!

    • JenniferS

You scored big on that ๐Ÿ™‚ how great! Great job Mama. Do they anually have a Mother’s Day contest ? I’ve never known of this one will keep my eyes open for next year.
