Check out the comments from readers who purchased this detergent previously:

We have used one box since it was on sale over a year ago. That is with a family of 7. It works great, but make sure to put it in the water, not directly on the cloths. I just start my water, as I make sure nothing is in pockets and undo the socks. By that time the water has dissolved the powder and it cleans great. I have just about used my box, so I will be getting another. I also use only about 2/3 of what they recommend for a load, so it is even less than .05 cents a load.

I have been using this product for about 9 years now.. Get it at Sears once a year and it last me for about 9 or so months..depending on my laundry loads.. I have a front load washer/dryer.. Whirlpool Duet actually..and it’s the best detergent I have used.. It is compared to Tide to me. I read that in Consumer Reports many years back and gave it a try

This is my favorite detergent! We have a front loader and like with any detergent, be sure NOT to use too much. I do have problems with the detergent not dissolving in a cold water wash, but I have found it works great when I wash on warm or on hot.

I bought this last year when it was on sale and it works great. EXCEPT if you have sensitive skin it will bother you. My husband broke out in a bad rash when we started using this detergent. If you don’t have sensitive skin you will be fine. If you do, then watch out for this stuff!

Our city water is very hard, even with a water softener. I found that the detergent just wouldn’t dissolve. Even when I added it first, ran hot water, and used my hand to stir the water to help it dissolve. Clothes would come out with tiny pieces of detergent stuck on them (white specks). It’s a huge box and I tried using it numerous times doing everything I could think of to make it dissolve. I know others seem to like the detergent, so this isn’t to scare anyone off from the purchase. Just a note that it didn’t work for me.

      I had this happen, too!

Used this detergent before. My clothes still smelled dirty after they were washed and dried. Not a bad cleaner, just needs a little help in the scent department.

Agree.. I saved money on soap but spent extra on downy scentables or whatever they are called.

I like this detergent and plus I could use my $4 in shop your way rewards and went thru ebates 3% back. Not too shabby for 275 loads! It’s not tide smelling that’s for sure but it gets the job done for a pretty good price.

FYI this detergent is very hard and does not dissolve easily

I purchased this last time. It does make my clothes smell dirty. It also seemed to not clean the clothes very well. I am going to throw it away. Plus it’s way cheaper to purchase detergent like purex at cvs when it’s on sale. I wouldn’t recommend buying this. But this is just my own opinion. I’m sure others have different experiences.

This detergent IMO works well with whites, linens and towels, but as far as color clothes they seem to fade them. The smell not so great either. I found this detergent to be a great household cleaner though tub, shower, toilets you name it lol

Bad smelling clothes … Tried for 6 months even with scent boosters…. Finally getting tide next week…. No more

Thanks for comments, I wanted to buy this with my points, just bought a HE washer. Now I am not going to buy this.

I bought this detergent a year ago and like the previous poster it was very grainy/hard and didn’t dissolve very well. I used it to wash my towels. I bought another box a month or so ago and they have made the powder much smaller and it now dissolves better. For towels it works great!
