FYI Found 1L Purell bottles on clearance today marked down to $3.48 (reg$4.99). Used (1) Target mobile coupon (also available for print) $1 off 2 8oz or 1L + (1) manufacturer coupon, $1 off. My mom’s a teacher, so scored a few bottles for her 🙂

Woohoo! Gosh I’m such a nerd for getting a kick out of seeing one of “my” deals posted! 😀 Thanks for all your work in saving me money! As a side note, I just figured out yesterday that I can sign up for an account and then edit and print only the Target deals I need! Who knew?! 😉

On clearance?!?!? I thought this was a new product. Tried getting this over the weekend and couldn’t find it at walmart or Kroger!!

When do the pools begin to go on clearance?

    • shop4mybabies

our targets haven’t had a single pool for probably 2 plus months

    • Jennifer

Walmart had the $999 pools marked down to $548. Not sure about other pools.

At my Target in Centerville, Utah 90% of food items on clearence are overdue for months, today I found Quaker cereal bars due in April!

    • Amy

By overdue, do you mean expired? Is this a Target practice? A couple of months ago at my local store, I was looking at some clearance steak sauce but when I look at the bottle, it had expired in summer 2013. Thinking it was just that one, I start looking for one that wasn’t expired. Of about 15-20 bottles, only 3-4 still had a good date on them but I even found one expired in 2012. Isn’t selling expired food items a violation of most local health codes?

      • Lauren

From what I understand, the expiration date on food is almost always how long they guarantee quality and does not mean the food is unsafe to eat. I don’t think stores sell dairy items or meat past the expiration date, but non-perishables are probably okay to sell. With that said, I am usually disappointed when I get home with items and discover they are out of date.

      • Natalia

        Yes, expired.

I am not sure this is the place to post this nostalgia bit of history. Looking back at HTS websites I found this link:

    https://hip2save.blogspot.com/2008/06/first-post.html

Time for an anniversary posting??? Did I count right about 7 years? I have been following HTS for most of the time since that first posting. Does the website go back any further?

    • kate

Aw, haha! I’ve been following that long as well. Remember when she switched from blogspot and was gone for a short bit? Ahh! It was terrible lol

    • Erin

So cute! Posted by “poor girl.” Not anymore!

    • Shelby

How neat to see that! Collin called herself back then Crazy Coupon Collin! 🙂

How does saving star work at Target?… no store card…:(

    • Amy

I was wondering the same thing. Any ideas?

      • mel

You have to download the app to get credit from non loyalty card stores. It’s like ibotta where you scan the product upc(s) and upload the receipt.

        • Amy

Thanks, Mel. I didn’t know that. I see it now when I opened up the app and clicked on “Stores.”
