I have a Mac. Looking for a printer that only prints black copies (not color copies). I want it just for printing coupons, school forms, and text-only homework assignments. I know a lot of people like Brother printers. Wondering if anyone has a recommendation.
Hey, I would get the “Brother HL-2270DW Compact Laser Printer with Wireless Networking and Duplex” just copy that to amazon, and you should see it on sale for about $90. I think this is an excellent price, as it’s usually around $100. It’s also highly rated. I don’t have this printer myself, but if anything ever goes wrong with mine, I’ll definitely turn to this one, as I’ve heard so many great things about it. Good luck 🙂
I purchased this exact printer Brother HL-2270DW in January due to all the great feedback I had read on some couponing sites. With all my personal printing and coupon printing, I’m still on the first toner cartridge. Purchased on sale at Staples for around $60-$70.

I have a brother non-wireless laser printer and I love it! Perfect for coupons and homework. I buy the toner from Office Max, their brand lasts as much as the Brother and its quite cheaper. Hope that helps.
I have the Brother HL2240, it’s the basic b/w laser printer. I can get a year+ worth of use with my cartridge and that is mainly printing coupons, some school stuff for the kids and any reports husband has to turn into his job. I got it Black Friday a few years ago, I believe it was $30.

I have the same exact Brother printer pictured second and I LOOOOVE IT!! Best printer I’ve ever had .. Toner is pricey but compared to having to get it much more often it was a wash with my old inkjet any way. Definitely worth $100 🙂
I have that printer too, but I buy and use the generic toner (TB-TN450) for it on meritline which is much much cheaper than the original toner! Haven’t had any problems and the printing quality is just as good.
I also have this printer and use the generic toner for 10 dollars I believe. I bought mine in February and am still using it (after the one it came with). I agree that this price is a great deal for what you get.
@ mrl… I’m not sure that any ink jet prints *only* B&W however every printer has an option to print B&W in the options menu. Be sure to look for printers that have black and color inks in separate cartridges. You will still need to load color inks but as long as you set your preferences to B&W it will minimize the usage of color.
Ordered one this morning for $50 saw it on slickdeals.net and some people commented that ink is $16 on amazon it is generic but has very good reviews i had bought a hp 7525 at costco for $100 but ink was $60 for black and $60 for color and mine didnt last long and i didnt even. Use it so ill just try amazon ez ink

I have the second one and i love it! Staples never excludes coupond for brother toners. I price matched Amazons price and used a coupon for back in rewards. Ended up being like $35 and it will last last over a year even with lots of coupon printing.
Does it still work if one of the color cartridges is out?
The second printer uses toner and only prints black and white. I like it because I rarely used color with my old inkjet and the wireless is super convenient.
