On a side note, I just ran The Color Run Race in Boise this past weekend along with my hubby and kiddos (ages 7-13), my sister, Bryn and her family, and my good friend Erica and her family. We had such a great time – this race is extremely family-friendly and geared for all ages – there were families with strollers, teenagers, grandparents, college students etc. My kids especially loved the after-party – they had a great time dancing to the music and participating in the color throws (and loved throwing paint directly on their mom! 😉 ). One word of advice – bring towels with you so that the interior of your car does not look like a giant rainbow. And plan on scrubbing colors out of your ears, nose, scalp, toes etc.![/h2s_box]

If you have never participated in The Color Run, I highly encourage you to check it out and see if a race is coming to a city near you.

We did the color run here in Binghamton, NY. Oh what fun. But, literally we had the blue color showing up for days later. Everyone should do the color run!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

LOL! Same here – I just finally got all the blue out of my ears and nose!

  2. Rita

    Nice pics!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks! We had a great time! 🙂

Buyer beware. The Color Run was cancelled in the Atlanta area due to low registration and the people who already signed up didn’t get their money back. Evidently, their policy is “no refunds” even though the organization was the one who cancelled.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Hi Irene!

The Color Run Atlanta took place on April 5th: https://thecolorrun.com/atlanta AND it was NOT canceled. You must be thinking of a different race?

Also, The Color Run hardly ever cancels a race and if they do, they issue a 100% refund immediately.

It looks like a great time was had by all. Good for you and your family!

Been waiting all summer for the race in Sioux Falls, SD but the registration is not open yet

Brandice, see the above comments from Collin. It was another race that was cancelled not The Color Run. The Color Run did in fact take place in Atlanta on April 5th.

      • brandice

        Oh ok..
Just wanted folks to be aware, but it could be run by the same parent company

I tried to find on their website but was not able to locate. Does anyone know if you pay for children too or if they are free? I was looking to do the Team runners but if children are free i could invite my bestie 🙂

    • nicolegammeter

Hi Ela! All kiddos 5 and under can run with an adult FREE of charge and do not need to register! Check out their FAQ: https://thecolorrun.com/faq/

My best friend took her 12 year old niece as a birthday present and they had a BLAST! I hope to make it next time 🙂

My two sisters and I are leaving the kids at home and doing a sister outing/run. This is a great excuse to get us all exercising again! We are looking forward to it!

I have a question for anyone that has done this. I wear contacts and have sensitive skin and have always wondered about the powder and if it’s irritating? I think my kids would love this if I could work it out. Thanks!
