I hate websites that asks you to sign in before you can even check out what current deals they have. It’s an office gatekeeper, when you need to talk the boss or something. Thredup does this, too. I wonder how many potential impulsive customers they lose because of this?
it is so they can send you emails with deals everyday – makes it feel like you are getting exclusive insider deals …. I agree with you though, generally it is really annoying
I have to say that zulily is worth the time for us though – we’ve found some really good deals and they have some cute brands that I wouldn’t have heard of otherwise …. give ’em a chance 🙂
I don’t like their “no returns” policy. And the quality of some of the clothes we have purchased is not good. For us it’s not worth it.
I absolutely hate their no returns policy and I only purchase an item/brand that I already know is going to be quality, fit, work for us
You can absolutely make returns. I know it says you can’t, but it’s just not the case. If the item arrives damaged in any way, or something is off and it is Zulily’s fault, they will give you a full refund or store credit and you get to keep the item. I was told to just donate it to a local charity. Just call the customer service number. Also, I’m pretty sure you can browse on the ap without having to enter an email.
I am one of those impulsive customer that they lost. So far I have refused to waste my time creating an account just to browse. I have to see really good deal to make me do it.

I got stuck in traffic on the way to work and “arrived” to the sale 10 minutes late…the one I wanted was sold out. Oh well, with shipping this was only $9 cheaper than when they’re on sale on Americangirl.com. I’m in no hurry and will wait until Black Friday..I’ve heard they also have good deals then.
Americangirl.com has AMAZING Black Friday deals. I stock up during that time. Books for $1-2, clothes for $5-10, animal sets for $6-$12, etc.

These dolls were 40$last summer before their ridiculous price hike. It’s funny to see folks getting excited about paying &50 for them now (even though I know they come with a book, etc now) 😉

I am considering sponsoring a child for Christmas to teach my kids how lucky we are. We did animals last year with Heifer international. Does anyone know of a reputable non-religious “sponsor a child” organization? TaIa

Please consider contacting the school counselor at your local school (maybe corresponding with your child’s own grade level) and having them point you to a local place where your donation is directly impacting your own community. In my city, we have a non profit, run by a saintly no nonsense angel named Diane, it’s called Caring for Kids. I wish every city had a Diane. When I was a kid, we had NOTHING!!! Our food, clothes, and gifts came from strangers every year. So each one of my children ( 4 of them) sponsors a child every Christmas. It really makes it even more meaningful when you know it could be going to a neighbor or a classmate
