As most of you know, 9/16/12, was the start of the new Walgreens Balance Rewards Program! Even sweeter, on 5/5/13, they started a new point system in which you can redeem your points once you reach just 1,000 points. Please head here to read all about it.

oops!, be careful with that Glade coupon, the Glade website shows the tall machine as the ‘automatic spray’, somewhat like the Original version, there is a second coupon on coupons.com for $1 off for the ‘spray & sense’ products specifically (spray & sense ‘automatic freshener’ w or w/o 360 design) –this $2 coupon use seems to be a mistake (if accidentally used as in this posting (I had actually matched this myself too about 2 wks back then caught my mistake when I was on coupons.com printing other coupons) or fraud (if purposely forced thru knowing that it is the incorrect coupon, just to benefit from the higher value, costing the company an extra $1 that they didn’t plan on)
as a couponer for over 15 yrs, I love this site and one other for understanding that there’s so much to couponing that we make a mistake every now and then (probably every month, lol) and that we are couponers who actually have the intention of doing right by the companies, we’re in this to save money &/ enjoy the ‘finer’ things in life, but we’re Not out to take advantage of companies. I have to avoid other blogs, outside of the two that I visit, because there is just so much coupon dishonesty out there, I’ve always couponed by myself until this year. I’m so glad that this site does Not encourage or allow intentional fraud. And it makes me feel human to see the same little mistake that I made too–it’s hard having to be up and up on a company’s full line–but at least we won’t be embarrassed at checkout or have to apologize for the oversight

I know Walgreens made a few changes to their coupon policy. I have 2 $4 rr to use tomorrow. Does the item I’m purchasing have to be over $4 in order to use the rr? or do they still considered the rr as one coupon per item? Meaning I can just add a cheap filter.
Yes, now each RR has to be matched with an item that is at least the value of the RR. Very frustrating in my opinion. It will make it hard to use those larger RRs.
You can use the $4 RR for more than one product now.
Last week i had a $2 RR I used just fine on the 2/$1 AZ Teas. I bought 4 & my total with tax was $2.04. After RR i paid only $0.04 🙂

Sadly, yes, the rule still applies. Points go one way or another when redeeming them or either receiving them.

Okay, so I printed the Starbucks $4 off 2 and went to Walgreens. I picked up 2 4pks of frappicino and was told by both the cashier and manager that the coupon only applies to “coffee products.” I of course stayed and argued that “any Starbucks coffee product” also included the frappicino, but they refused to accept the coupon. Anyone had a similar problem with this transaction?
The coupon beeped when I tried using it at Target for the “buy a 4 pack get a single for free” deal. The cashier said the coupon has only been working on the fall related flavors, so no go there. I used the coupon for the same deal at CVS and it still beeped, but the cashier pushed it through. I guess it all depends on your cashier.

Well beginnings coupon beeped. Clerk told me they are fraudulent because Walgreens does not allow manufacturer coupons for their own brand products. HUH? She said they only have store coupons for their products. Always a great experience at wags when they point you out to everyone in line as a coupon criminal. 🙁 ugh. Now I remember why I stopped shopping there.
You should private message the Walgreens Facebook page. The coupon came from coupons.com and it is HORRIBLE for a cashier to tell you that it is fraudulent. Let Walgreens know that it came from coupons.com, and how there were others in line, like you are saying, when she said the coupon was fraudulent. Or speak to the district manager, this line of diapers seems to mainly be carried at Walgreens so they should be up to date on their coupons. I would also take the survey on the receipt and let them know.

Thanks for the good advice justina. I will do that in hopes of helping others but as for me wags is just not worth it. I feel badly for the clerks because I am betting management is all over them when they make a mistake,so if the coupon beeps they just say NO to protect themselves. I noticed afterwards that the clerk took my $4 coupon for the OFF but it didn’t come off on my receipt so I did go back and another clerk easily reprocessed my receipt and made the adjustment. So you just never know. But I’m never going back. LOL

I purchased a Color Stay eye liner for $8.49 and a bold lacquer mascara for $7.99, however, it did not ring up at BOGO 50% off when the free mascara coupon was applied.
The coupon deducted $8.49 and the mascara rang up $7.99 – 1.00 so my total for both items was $6.99 not $3.99..not a bad deal, but still not as good as what was posted. I can’t figure out why the mascara rang up at $6.99…who knows with Walgreen’s.
And also on the Simple Wipes deal…the second manufacturer coupon beeps and has to be pushed through. Maybe because it is BOGO 50% off…Walgreen’s new coupon policy on the free item is annoying.
Ughhh, Walgreens, so much for corner for healthy and happy, more like corner of tired and frustrated….. So many of their employees are leaving, I think their attrition rate has gone way up:(. Yesterday I purchased the OFF! Clip-on starter kit and the Tide Simply Fresh detergent. The digital coupons for both of these products were redeemed and displayed on my receipt.
Sometimes they do not redeem if you do not have enough items/filler to account for them during your purchase; or the exact purchase criteria wasn’t met; or your store’s cash registers were not set to allow them. If you believe a digital coupon should have redeemed, but didn’t, call the Walgreens Balance Reward program at 1-800-925-4733, opt. 3, have your receipt handy, and they should be able to help you. HTH! 🙂
Fyi for those curious about how the digital coupons and the points booster coupon work together, my points booster coupon still worked, even though the redemption of the digital coupons dropped my total below $25. 🙂
They work, but they automatically come off. however, if you have paper coupons make sure you let the cashier know so they can apply that first before totaling them. Because once the digital coupons come off, you can’t use coupons or else you will need to have a manager override to apply the paper coupons.
Crest 3D Whitestrips Luxe Supreme 14ct were $65 at my Walgreens. I did a price check & sure enough they were 🙁 and here i had a $10/1 Q from the mail to go with $10/1 in-ad Q. I guess it’ll have to wait. Scored $144 worth of stuff for $32 today (78% savings)

You should be able to use it more than once. I have used it as many as 4 times on the same day. 🙂 But you may want to check with your store before you do so, because from what I’ve read, some stores have strict individual policies. :-\

So far the following does not qualify: NICE trash bags, water, dish sponges, canned fruit, punch, and countless other items. Hello Beth, I’m looking at my voided receipt and my purchase came to $10.93. I am sure that I had over $10 dollars as I had to run back and grab 2 more items as the cashier waited so that I would make it past $10? The reason that I had tried to attempt this deal on 2 separate occasions is because I called cooperate to make sure that the water was included and was told yes. I went back in on my second attempt and ask the manager if the water was included to be sure informed them that I had been told it was. They told me that sometimes what is told to us from customer service is different in the store? No worries, its just not worth a 3ed attempt from me in my opinion.
Oh and btw, I did not attempt the water on the second visit per the mod’s response, they were all different items that I previously stated. Oh, and 2 different locations.
