i was in best buy last week and I was told by a CR that best buy is no longer selling Amazon GC. This is for all best buy across the country.

Best buy offered $13 for my kindle fire HD 16gb. Seriously laughing out loud!

    • Rae

Thank you for posting that. I was considering taking our first gen kindle fire in but at that rate they would probably offer me a dollar or laugh me out of the store.

      • Janessa

So the website says “Get a minimum $50 gift card when you trade in any working tablet.” But then when I did a search for the Kindle Fire 1st gen, it told me it was worth $3. I’m wondering how they can legally say “a minimum $50 for any working tablet” and then not offer it. Kinda wanna go try it just to see what happens.

    Does it work for iPads?

  4. dee

For my BlackBerry it’s 2$ good condition and $0.90 for poor condition…. Lol!!!

Hysterical, I have a kindle fire HD and they offered me $19, seriously, OMG, sorry keeping it, I will give it away first, not even 20, what a joke bestbuy

You will have better luck selling those on Craigslist for a fair market value. Honestly, $50 is the absolute lowest for an ipad 1st generation, but i would not be surprised if they sell for more. Same goes for fire hd.
Just remember to check what comparable items sell for on craigslist and ebay, and always meet in broad daylight in safe public places like the mall or even police department lobby (there has been a craigslist related robbery in the viscinity lately, so the local police department suggested that people meet there for transactions).

Ok, great guys thanks for commenting, I almost took mine in. I have a samsung galaxy tab 2, they probably would have made me pay for them to take it at those rates lol

    • Tia

I’m with you, Sarah! Saved me the trip.

Now on best buy it says “minimum $50 gift card” does that override what the trade in calculator says?

    • Tatalicious

Yes that’s correct. The minimum you can possibly get is a $50 gift card when you trade it in

  9. Griselda

did you guys actually go in store to get your item valued? or did you just use the online calculator, because this is and IN STORE event, and it does state MINIMUM $50 GC. i wonder if it’s worth checking it out in store.

    • ds

Yes, in store only. assuming you follow the T’s and C’s, they should give you $50 gc.

  10. Amy

I thought the same… it does say minimum….. I called my store and they know nothing about this promo.. I suppose I can print it out and bring it to the store :0)

    • ds

it’s in store only. often clerks don’t hear about these promos. make a print out and head to the store with it, and you should be good to go!

I sold my iPad mini with a broken screen for $130 in less than 24 hours on eBay.

We had a cheapo android unit not even worth ten bucks. Got fifty in store for it.

Thanks Hip2Save. I had a old freebie cheap tablet. It’s old and extremely slow. BB accepted it with a smile and applied the $50 Gift card onto a new Ematic tablet costing $51.99. So I just paid them 1.99+tax and they will ship it to my house for free since they did not have it in stock. Thanks again Hip2Save.

Hi! I had a generic tablet that I bought on Liv Social about 1 year ago for $59. It was junk – – slow, would not hold a charge. Manuf and LS both would not refund for it. It was nearly ready for the trash bin, then I saw this. Did some research on BB forums about previous tablet trade ins and saw that some clerks at stores would often refuse b/c they had not heard of the trade in program. Yesterday, I happily traded that piece of junk for a $50 BB gift card.

My advice to anyone considering, take a copy of the promo from BB website. If you are refused in store, head to the BB forum and voice your concern, get someone from BB corporate on your side. They will communicate w/ the store directly, and you will soon have your $50 gc. This is IN STORE promo only.
