Anyone have an opinion on these? Do you have to buy replacement filters?

We got one from Walmart around a year ago and use it everyday. You do have to replace the filters but Walmart as their own brand which is cheaper than the Brita and work just as good!

Great, so you can use other filters? Thanks…think I’ll get one 🙂

Yep, you’re welcome! I started using the wally brand filters which I get the three pack and and they work just as well I think and are defiantly cheaper about $5-6 less in my area. This is the cheapest verison of the Brita pictchers but I like it because it fits in the side door of my fridge and doesnt take up alot of room and besides it works just as well, it just holds 5 cups of water vs 10 like the bigger pitchers but again I like that it doesn’t take up as much room.

You do have to buy replacement filters but I think that’s a small price to pay for good, clean water. I can tell the difference from when our water is filtered well and when the filter is at the end of the life – or when I’m brushing my teeth and take a swig of our normal sink water. And we live in a township with very clean water. I just love my Brita.

I’d never had any of this before I went to college almost 15 years ago. All the Brita pitchers work the same way and use the same filters. This looks like the very basic pitcher that doesn’t have the bells, but you don’t really need those.

This would make a great deal if you know someone going to college soon. We kept the basic pitcher in our mini-fridge in the dorm. Then, we could have cold water and since you filled it up with the bathroom sink, you felt better about drinking it. Since then, I’ve always had a Brita pitcher in my fridge.

I usually by a large pack of refill filters at Costco when they have an in store coupon and it last a long time. To me it’s worry the $$.

Collin, would this also be the in-store price?

My family has been using the large Brita filter for a couple of years now and really like it. We have well water and it doesn’t taste very good, so the Brita filter really improves the taste. I usually buy the large filter refill pack and the last couple of times I waited until I could stack a Target Brita coupon with a manufacturer’s coupon to get a better deal.

I’ve been wanting to buy a second pitcher, but this one is only a 5-cup pitcher and isn’t really large enough for my family’s needs, but for a single person I think it’s a great deal!

Thanks! Bought two for gifts for $2.40, had 11 something in SYWR.

I just bought a brita filter system for my faucet today at target. It was on an end cap for under $6. It was cheaper to get the new system instead of a replacement filter for my old one.

Dang I clocked link and Kmart site says not available online. We just bought a cabin and the previous owners left theirs. I’ve never used one so i didn’t know if pieces were missing or if I had to know filter numbers etc. How much do these pitchers run typically? Are the filters expensive? How often do you have to change them? Last question, how do I figure out what filter to buy for one that was left at cabin?? Thanks for any help
