wow, that dollar tree looks awesome! I was just at our dollar tree a few days ago and did not see essie or see the sally hanson sallon effects or the soft soap. Im jealous!

  2. brandice

I just left my local DT in Decatur GA and instead of candy I’m giving away snack size pretzels…they have 8ct Snyder’s of Hanover snack size for $1…can’t beat that

  3. mindy

Bread is my reason to stop by dollar tree every other week. Talk to the cashiers they tell you when the bread is delivered so you can get the best pick. Our store is next to Sam’s so we often get club size pack to $1!

    • ash

Mindy Sam’s Club doesn’t sell larger bags of bread… they do 2 packs for one low price just so you know. We buy bread from Sam’s $1.50 per a loaf.

      • mindy

i got hot dog buns 12 in the pack for $1 instead of regular 8 count…so I thought they are from Sam’s.

        • mel

The hamburger & hot dog buns do come in a larger club size, b/c I buy them from Sam’s for birthday parties.

          • Roselyn C. Robertson

I live in Eden, NC that has a Wonderful Dollar Tree! The Clerks told us when to come in for bread & you can find the Cinnamon Swirl Bread sometimes; which sells 3X as much in the regular stores. Our Dollar Tree also has a Freezer Section that is “Rare” because I’ve been in Greensboro, NC & haven’t seen very many have that!

  4. Blossom

i wish they had a “find in store” option for some of these brands! I love Essie, but I can’t find them in any dollar tree around ATL GA. Awesome find!!

  5. Kimberly

Couponing doesn’t go well at all at my Dollar Tree. But I like to buy gift wrap and holiday theme Things.

  6. Rachel

I just saw the Essie at my store too! Amazing! I did notice you would need a heat lamp or something like that?! I’m a huge Jamberry Nails fan so I was wanting to do a comparison but then noticed the added need for their application.

    • Brooke

Hi, Rachel. You don’t need a UV light to use these Essie strips. They’ve just been cured under UV light to make the color last. The Sally Hanson ones are better IMO, but for $1 you’re not out much by trying them.

      • K

The Sally Hanson ones are better than Jamberry. My friend and I both agreed that they last longer and look & feel better. My Dollar Tree didn’t have Essie, so I don’t know how those compare.

        • Rachel

Thanks for your response! How long did they last for you? Thanks! 🙂

      • Rachel

Ohhh, so that is what it meant by “UV cured” – well gee! 😉

      • Noel

Thanx for the heads up about Jamberry. I’ve been wanting to give them a try, but have been hesitant to pull the trigger due to price/expense. I will try them one day, some day, but after hearing your opinions there’s no rush. Thanx Hipsters!

        • Rachel

Noel – I have some extras if you want to try them! Just let me know! 🙂

  7. Aline

Collin, if you don’t mind me asking… which Dollar Tree did you go to? My store (Fairview & Milwaukee) never has brand name items like these… 🙁

    Thanks!

    • Jennifer

Our dollar trees here never get the bread like that. They only get the generic white and wheat loaves and generic hot dog and hamburger buns. Also they have tortillas and sometimes a 2 pack of french type take and bake loaves but never have I seen any of the name brand breads pictured in the post. This must really vary by region.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Good Morning! I went to the Dollar Tree at 900 S Vista Ave in Boise. Hope that helps! 🙂

      • Aline

        Thank you!!!

    • laura

The Dollar Tree at Fairview and Eagle, across from the Village has these deals, as I was just there. Lots of nail stuff. Only a few of the bread left.

  8. Kacee

These are $8.49 at Wags, I bought 20 sets of the Essie nail appliqués they come with a good file and cuticle push stick, I take a super hot bath every day and scrub floor twice a week in kitchen, didn’t use a lamp and lasted two weeks and then could barely tell lifting at top. These are awesome:)

  9. Michelle

Dollar Tree looks awesome..ours here in Upstate NY, not so much.

    • Preppy Pink Crocodile

Where are you in Upstate? The one in East Greenbush and Troy are great, actually. (Capital Region) They have freezer and fridge cases in the back. I never leave without frozen berries. Best deal on frozen fruit!!

      KK @ Preppy Pink Crocodile

    • Kay

My Dollar Tree in Upstate/ Western New York has pretty much nothing, we don’t even have freezers or bread.

  10. ash

I wish the dollar trees around here had these items. I do find things that are worth buying there but never name brand deals

  11. jhnicole

Thanks Collin.I really need to go use a lot of my coupons.especially that pedia care.

  12. CB

Yeah our dollar tree does not look like that and usually we don’t have these great name brands but I still go there for bleach and gift bags, lol!

  13. veronica

I’ve personally tried the sunblock from the dollar tree and can say it’s amazing! I used it all summer long and never got burned even on my vacation to Florida. I have really fair skin that burns easily. I buy the yellow spray one from the video. It can be a little watery, but it still works just as good as any name brand.

Also, I get all my greeting cards at the Dollar Tree. Sometimes they are even 2 for $1. I find that the prices of greeting cards as ridiculously high at target/grocery stores. Yeah Hallmark will have extremely adorable cards, but are priced around $4-$5. I rather spend that extra money on something else like the actual present.

    • CB

I kind of don’t even believe in cards anymore, unless it’s the only thing they are getting. I just have my kids make cards. Art project for the kiddos and people usually just throw cards away, except my mother-in-law.

    • Melanie

I bought 6 tubes last year of the baby sunblock for myself and kids and none of us burned. Best price ever

  14. M

I love dollar tree! It’s always hit or miss at mine – one local store had none of the Essie stickers and at the one two miles down the road they had tons. I bought a bunch as well as some bottles of Acne Free brand face wash (they were close t the expiration date but that doesn’t bother me at all). You never know what you’re going to find there! Its also a great place to take small kids for a treat like a mylar balloon or a coloring book – how can you go wrong for $1? 🙂

    • M

They also have a handsoap brand there called NOLA and it’s awesome. It smells great and the packaging is very pretty and expensive looking.

  15. Katie

I agree Collin, Dollar Tree is the BEST for gifting and party supplies. I recently had an ocean themed birthday party for my son and they had the cutest tablecloth with dolphins on it (was great quality, didn’t rip) and matching plates and cups. Although I did learn my lesson awhile ago to pass on the gift wrap from there, it rips much too easily

  16. So Mad!

Tried printing the Triaminic coupon! My computer caught a virus.! Deleting this app!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

So sorry you are having issues! The Triaminic coupon is found on the Triaminic website so if you experienced issues when printing, I would reach out directly to Triaminic.

    • cbeths

More likely the virus just happen to show itself at the time you were accessing the coupon and it actually came from another site. Malware/Spyware is easy to catch. Deleteing the app will not remove the virus/malware if it has in fact infected your computer. Try a program like Malwarebytes, Its free. Download it from cnet.com — just make sure you download the program, not one of the advertisments that popup on the same screen.

  17. Katie

Some other things I like to get at dollar tree are the metal wire pencil holders for holding all kinds of things around the house, kitchen hand towels, baby hangers, glitter glue tubes, fuzzy socks for kids and adults, and especially especially the anti slip cushions for shoes, both for the heel and the sole of the shoe…these have been life savers for me

  18. Nicole

Does anyone know what exactly what the wording on the Bandaid coupon means?… It seems to be stating you can’t buy 3 Bandaid items you have to purchase 3 different Bandaid brand items… Ex. Bandaid Brand Bandaids, Bandaid First Aid product, & then a Neosporin…? Anyone know for sure?… That’s why I haven’t tried it yet at Dollar Store. : \

    • Cheryl

I also read this. I saw the bandaids last wednesday and wanted to buy them but then I read the fine print of the coupon $2/3. It says you must buy different items.

  19. KcD

WHAT?! Essie at Dollar Tree?? I live in Nampa and ours does not have cool stuff like that! Im driving to Boise next time lol

  20. Bunny

The Dollar Tree stores in Richmond, Va are not very coupon savvy. Will never bring coupons in there again.

But like others here, I go for the cheap gift wrap and cards. I also like their generic Oxy-clean to use for washing clothes. And believe it or not, I find their generic laundry pre-treatment spray better than Shout or other name brands. Keep one bottle in the laundry room, one in the kitchen and another in our upstairs bathroom (I like to be prepared!)

  21. Cheryl

I like to purchase the Reynolds Wrap brand sheets of aluminum foil. They come 25 to the box and you can’t beat that for a buck!!

  22. Carolyn

I’ve found name brand sunscreen at Dollar Tree as well. And their $1.00/can Campbell’s soups beats $1.37 at Target. I also agree about the balloons and gift bags and tissue. They even have serving bowls and trays for parties, comparable to big party stores (but much, much cheaper).

  23. Amanda

Dollar Tree is one of my favorite stores! I have 2 year old triplets and just bought a ton of stuff for busy bags there: finger puppets, crazy straws, glow sticks, pipe cleaners, pony beads, magnetic cookie sheets (for lap in car), board books, crayons, disney color sets (small color book with crayons and stickers), lacing cards, and more. I’ve found Disney items in the toy area in central Florida: Disney Jr tambourines, maracas, 2″ figures.

  24. Rrobles

Scored Essie nail appliqué, maybelline eye make up, an bread! Thanks for be tip!

  25. Jessica

I just stopped at mine (NE Indiana) on my lunch break, got some Bisquick pancake mix, Welch’s grape jelly, Suavitel dryer sheets, Fabuloso cleaner, Rubbermaid Take-Alongs, and Colgate toothpaste! 18 items for 8.98 after coupons and tax 🙂

  26. Karen

I no longer shop at The Dollar Tree. The Dollar Stores near me are horrible about using coupons. Even when I am in the right and have their coupon policy with they find a reason to not let me use them. One time I was trying to be very persistent, polite but firm as I knew I was in compliance with the coupon and their policies. They ended up making rude racist comments about me in Spanish. When I asked to talk to the manager the girl helping looked to another cashier who claimed to be the manager, while a guy that was in a dress shirt and tie (and on previous visits I had heard introduced as the manager) suddenly went to the back room to hide. I sent an email to Dollar Tree Corporate and they did not even acknowledge my complaint. While I do not hold a whole chain accountable for the actions of one or two employees, their complete lack of response to my complaint, of a)employees not knowing or following company policy, b) racially discriminating against a customer made it a place I no longer care to give my money too.

  27. mokiecon

I went to two stores and all they had were a few left of the essie in giraffe looking design and the tiger black and white. I must have been too late.

  28. Kayla

I found coupons online for 1.00 off Colgate toothpaste and got a 6oz free!!!!

    • Kayla

I also found 0.77 cent off the carmex and got a pediacare great deal thanks

  29. Tina

I found the gain dryer sheets ( I believe they were dryer sheet) at my dollar tree. I see post about these on other sites and how ppl got them but did they use the gain coupons from the last P & G insert? I dont see the wording for dryer sheet.. Am I mistaken?

    • Tiffiny Dauzat

The one that says “fabric enhancers” are the ones to use for the fabric softeners and dryer sheets. I have looked at every gain product and I found none that specifically said “fabric enhancer” so I bought the dryer sheets, got to the checkout at walmart, and it went thru with no problem at all. I hope I used them correctly (I only got 2 boxes anyways) but I did look and found nothing that said fabric enhancer so I went for the dryer sheets 🙂

  30. mikala

DollAr tree has had this junk for months. The ones around me are depressing inside- very dull, and have moths! I only go there for packing tape.

  31. mikala

Oh and I buy helium balloons there- half of the time they dont have helium!
They are horrible about coupons..and only accept 2 like coupons per person per day total of 6 coupons

  32. Tiffiny Dauzat

The “SOS” scrub pads at dollar tree work great (of course, the off brand for SOS”) and those Magic Erasers do work really well!! I have been using them from Dollar Tree for years! I scrub everything I can with the erasers and the sos pads.

  33. Sarah

I’ve tried to coupon at my dollar tree and they told me they don’t accept coupons with more than a dollar value 🙁

  34. v

I have used the $1.50 off 3 James Morrell products coupon to buy the long 2 per pack (hot variety) sausages. I didn’t have problems. Was a good deal paying 50 cents per pack. They are smaller than years past…but they do expand a bit as they cook. Love the convenience of not having to rewrap a larger package. Two is the perfect meal size portion for us.

  35. Molly

My Dollar Store had the PediCare!
The guy examined my coupon and said he couldn’t accept it, it was a copy. It was printed on filler paper. I said I print on filler paper because printer paper is too expensive. He ended up reading the whole coupon (taking his time) and finally taking it. Way to make me feel like I did something wrong.

    • Tanique

      Thats a great idea. Thanks
I have tons of filler paper.
My DT doesn’t take printables AT ALL!

  36. Jen D

Thanks Collin! I found the Essie nail stickers at my DT today in Addison TX. I got four, my best friend loves these and they will make a great stocking stuffer for the holidays!

  37. Hilary

The Essie Nail Stickers are awesome!! I have used other brands before and these go on easily and really last! Thanks for the great tip on these 🙂

  38. hilre

The Essie nail stickers are awesome! Tried them after seeing the tip on your site and they are the best nail stickers I have ever used!! Thanks 🙂
