Redbox: FREE DVD Rental (Text Offer)
In addition to the FREE rental code I mentioned this morning, here’s another Redbox code for ya! 😀 Redbox is offering up another FREE DVD Rental (or $1.50 discount towards another rental) whenever you text MOVIE TIME to 727272, good for one week only! Your unique code will be valid at Redbox.com, on the mobile app, or at your local Redbox kiosk! Awesome!
* Plus, you can also rent any Disc and get a 2nd one FREE for one day when you text DEAL to 727272.
(Thanks, Free Stuff Times!)
Anybody else notice you get charged for the rental when you use a free code? This has happened to my twice now. My receipt shows free but the charge is on my statement.
I found out something I didn’t know last week- when you have a promo code and enter it at checkout, you must return the DVD by 9 pm the next day regardless of whether you pick up DVD same day or day after the reservation. The language after checkout out is misleading (states you have until 9 pm the next day to pick up the DVD) and caused me to get billed for an extra day.
Technically you have until 9pm to pick it up but you would have to return it immediately because that is also when it is due.

I was charged $1 but then it was returned back to me.
When I texted MOVIE TIME I got a code for rent one get one free-not a free movie rental. Same thing happened with texting DEAL. The code from earlier today did work properly though.
Same here
It will work on 1 movie. You don’t have to rent 2.
The charge falls off in 24 hrs. I keep a copy of all of my email receipts, just in case there ever is a problem in the future. I have a RedBox file. I have heard the some people are charged months aster the transaction, do i just want a record of all rentals, returns and receipts. Never had an issue, knock wood.
The text MOVIENIGHT gave me a free rental. This new one, MOVIE TIME, gives me “rent 1, get 1”. Did I miss something? 🙂
Sarah, you don’t have to rent the second movie to get a free movie. It is treated like a free rental. I forget that a lot when sharing with friends. Just be sure to reserve one movie, or rent one movie at the kiosk, then checkout. Also, be sure to review your email receipt and return confirmation, I have been getting free rental codes in the emails at the bottom, good for one day.
I just learned something new. I always thought that I had to rent 2. All of you guys are just amazing!
Teri I am a bit lost.. maybe it’s because I slept in and woke late..:-) What do you mean with the rent 1 get 1 using the code ‘DEAL’ .. you don’t have to rent the second. If you want the free one why would you not have to pick 2 dvds and put in your cart to get that second one free? thnx for explanation to this little lost lamb..I love learning new ways to save. thnx Free Stuff Times and Collin for all the deals.. JOY
Joy, Just rent one CD, check out. You have a free movie. On some codes you can do this up to five times per credit card. If it does not work for you for some reason, them abort the checkout….no charge. Hope this explanation is clear. Good luck.
Thanks, Teri! Good to know!
Thank you.
Yes redbox does a $1 deposit then returns it within 48 hours after the rental return.
I can ditto what Sarah said a out this code giving you a BOGO rental.
I typed in “Movie night” and got a one day free rental. Maybe it’s how you type it ?
That’s awesome! Got three free rental codes with MOVIE NIGHT, MOVIE TIME, and DEAL. Some are BOGOs, but I’ve never had a problem just renting one and getting it free. Thanks!
Sandy.. I just asked Teri above about this.. so you are saying with the bogo codes.. you only put one dvd in your cart..put promo code in and get it for free? don’t have to put 2 dvds in the cart? Does this work at kiosk..because I don’t reserve mine online.. I never know what location I will go to while I am out and about with my work. thnx in advance for explaining. JOY
Joy,
You only have to add one dvd to your cart and then use the code.
The code states BOGO, however it works just like a free rental code. so theres no need to worry about the 2nd dvd at all.
and yes this works at the kiosk as well
