Please don’t buy and use this Graco carseat! It is highly unrecommended because the lowest harness slots are too high for most newborns. Plus you have to adjust the harness in the back which is a pain in the butt. Look for a Graco 30 or 35. Not this one that goes to 22 lbs.

Thank you! I was reading the mixed reviews, but not feeling good about it. Can anyone recommend a good car seat that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg?? Thanks, and thanks Colin for all you do <3

The Graco 30, 35, or 40 are better fits for newborns. The Chicco Keyfit is, too, but more expensive. I can’t think of the other kinds. Join Car Seats for the Littles on Facebook for recommendations and Car Seat Deals for prices :). Congratulations!

The Graco Snugride infant seats have actually worked great for us! They always fit my newborns just fine. Personally, it would have been completely unnecessary to invest in the Graco 30 or 35, because my kids outgrew height limit long before the 22 pound weight limit. Plus i believe they are heavier as well as more costly. I have a Chicco Keyfit also, and the straps do adjust easier, but I still prefer the Graco Snugride because it’s lighter and the accompanying strollers are much more cost effective. I think it comes down to the physical build of your baby, cost factor, and personal preference. And as far as safety, the Graco Snugride was top rated by Consumer Reports five years ago when we purchased our first one.

We have the Graco highback boosters in all our cars and love them. We got them at Costco in the past for about $33 each at the time.

I’ve been needing a new booster seat for my daughter, so I picked up a Turbo Booster. Thanks!

  5. Adriaddiemom

Picked up 3 of the boosters from target.com. : )

Thank you Collin! I picked up two of the high back chairs. My daughter is about due for one, and knowing how long kids are best off in these seats, I went ahead and bought one for my son too. He’s newly in a front facer — but I can’t imagine $29.99 being easy to beat for such a highly rated brand new car seat! (Obviously I would never put him in to the seat until he outgrows the other.) BTW You have a way of alerting me to awesome buys! It’s good and bad — cuz sometimes I think I may buy things that are ‘wants’ more often, but at the same time, some of them are such awesome prices, I like to tell myself that I’m truly saving so much in the long run. Anyway, thank you for your work!
