If your interested in Ting please use my referral link. It would help me a lot during the holiday. Thank you so much 🙂 I love this blog https://zbshk8261c5.ting.com/

  2. Ohiogirl

Anyone have experience with this company? Looks like we could cut our bill in half. We have verizon now and have decent coverage. My husband needs reliable coverage for his job. TIA

    • Irene C

This company is good if you don’t use data on your phone. You pay for what you use. I went from $300 a month to only $40. =) So it’s good. coverage is good but, not as good as the big carriers. Sometimes I don’t get good receptions. If anyone is interested please use my referral link. https://zbshk8261c5.ting.com/

      • Mrs. Frugal

Sorry, correction, you would receive a $25 credit. Thanks!

  3. Shanna

Has anyone ever used this service? Who are they through or how good is internet service?

It’s great and customer service is fantastic! Check you coverage at ting.com/coverage and Ting wireless network services are provided on the Nationwide Sprint Network.
If you’re interested in signing up, you can get $25 off a new device or $25 in Ting credit by clicking my link 🙂 Plus, it’ll help me out too! Thanks!

  5. jac

Anyone know what towers they use? We get decent coverage with Verizon or AT&T, but are in a dead spot for Sprint & T-Mobile.

    • susan

Ting wireless network services are provided on the Nationwide Sprint Network*.

      • jac

        Thank you, Susan!

  6. Danni

I LOVE LOVE TIng!!! Our monthly bill for 1 smart phone and 1 regular phone was $120 with verizon. We now have 2 smartphones with ting and our average bill is about $30!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The coverage seems the to be same as verizon too. Amazing savings and we haven’t changed our phone usage habits either. I would love if anyone would use my link! https://z7k5p433fa8.ting.com/

    • Cannielle

      $30 for 2 smart phones?

      • Danni

Yep. $30 is my monthly bill for the 2 phones. (After you buy the smartphones of course- ebay is a great way to do that) With ting, you just pay for what you use. You do not buy a data plan for smartphones! Wifi does not use data either! Our data package is “small” every month. Our messaging and minutes are medium. Some months we go a little over, but it does not cost that much more. 🙂

        • jiya

Is it free on weekends like verizon? Our data usage is very low but to have a smart phone u have to pay $30 a month just for 1 phone. So I am without a smart phone to save unnecessary expense.

          • jiya

Can we use our old smartphone from verizon?

            • Danni

Verizon phones are not compatible. You will have to buy a sprint phone (ebay!) We had to buy new ones, but even that cost us less than 2 verizon phone bills!

          • Danni

No, they don’t do free weekends, you just pay for whatever usage you use through the whole month. But if you are at home or somewhere with free wifi, you will not be charged for any data. 🙂 Nice thing with data is you can turn it off and tell it to only use wifi when available! If you see you are about to roll over on data usage and don’t want to pay more, you can log in and turn it off an each phone!

            • jiya

Thank you for explaining!! Any rough estimate how many minutes you get ? I know I am asking so many questions but since you switched from verizon you can understand what I am talking about. We have 550 minutes now & data plan on 1 phone.

            • jb

@JIYA Go to Ting website and then select rates..you can plug in your usuage and it tells you your monthy charge right then and there..

              1 device=$6 each, 101-500 minutes = $9 up to 100 txts = $3 and 100mg data $3
The above numbers go up as you adjust but with those numbers you would pay about $21 bucks.

            • jiya

I was saying thanks to you. 🙂

    • jac

Danni, are you allowed free mobile-to-mobile for phones on your plan?

      • jiya

        Thanks!!

      • Danni

Nope. You pay for the minutes you use. Texting is a lot cheaper than minutes though…

  7. Katie

TextNow also offers phone service with the cheapest plan at $18.99 a month and the phones are cheaper the Galaxy SIII is only $99

    • Nat

With text now is it prepaid or end of the month? And you are happy with it?

  8. Lisa

They use the Sprint network. I have had them for a while and pay 38 a month for two iphones as opposed to 135 with my old Sprint plan (my coverage is exactly the same because it is the same network). I kept my same phone number and setup was easily done online. I love the pay-as-you-go setup! Its how cell phone plans should be. I plan on using it with my kids as they get older and putting caps on minutes and data or even allowing them to pay for extra if they want. It also helps me be a more responsible phone user;) They are amazing! Get $25 off with my link: https://zoilms2lbm7.ting.com/ Thanks!!!

  9. Melanie

I love Ting! If you need a referral link, please use mine! I would really appreciate it!!
    https://zqrbo73r9i8.ting.com/

    Thanks in advance!

    • Traci

I used your code Melanie. Hopefully you’ll get your credit too!

      • Melanie

Thank you so so much Traci! I really appreciate it! Hopefully you’ll love Ting as much as I do 🙂

  10. Ashlie

Love Ting!! Been on it for 2 months. I have an iphone and my husband has a Galaxy S3. Bill is $35 a month on average. Higher use months is maybe $45. But that’s the total for both phones!! If you use my link you get $25 off a phone purchase or your next bill! And $25 off for my next bill 🙂
    https://zi94l235t38.ting.com/

And for some reason, I remember Ting saying that if Sprint access is bad in your area, they can use another provider’s tower. Don’t remember the details, but I remember reading it on their site somewhere. We live in the middle of no where, and our service is great.

  11. Amy

does anybody use freedompop? I heard it’s free but it looks too good to be true…

    • culinaryrd

I tried Freedompop but the phone I had was kind of crummy. I think if you bought a nicer phone than the Samsung S2 I tried, it would work. They also use the Sprint network – and other online bargain hunters have really liked them.

      • Amy

        Thank you for your info!

  12. Phone Tech Mama

If you travel, you don’t want to be dependent upon Sprint networks. For reliability…

    1. Evil Red Empire
    2. AT&T
    3. T-mobile
    4. Net10, Straight Talk on AT&T or T-mobile networks
    5. OK… maybe Sprint

    • Happymama

LOL. That made me laugh. We pay a crapload to the Evil Red Empire. I’m upset I have to wait 9 months to upgrade with an echoing, non charging phone that won’t allow me to install apps, and I can’t seem to get my videos off. Arg! Ok rant over. 🙂

      • Angela

Haha the evil red empire! That’s us. We live in Maine and there’s about zippo sprint coverage here, don’t have much else to choose from!

  13. A

We’ve been with Ting for more than a year and love it. Our bill is pretty consistent at $87 a month for 4 iPhones (bought on Ebay). If you are heavy into data and do not connect to WiFi, it probably isn’t for you. But we have MagicJack as a house phone (land line) and Ting for wireless and we are very happy. There’s a small adjustment (who uses a land line anymore?! We do for when we are at home 🙂 ), but it is worth it to us. A bonus: I love the idea of not signing a contract, not being told that phones are $600+ but that I’m getting a great deal at $200, $100, etc., for it, and the customer service is great. Very nice people. I would definitely recommend Ting.

    • Kelly

Are they able to estimate my bill based on my usage history? This sounds awesome but my husband does not have wifi at work for 8hours and uses our unlimited data plan now.

      • A

Yes, they are able to do that. You can also do that if you know your monthly usage. They have a slick graph on their site that will show you how much you will pay for each of the categories. Then just add $6 per phone and tax (our tax is $11 on a $78 bill).

    • sarah

Are you happy with the magic jack? We actually still gave a landline through the phone co. And use ting for cell. I have thought of trying magic jack but heard it was horrible.

      • A

We are happy with MagicJack. As long as our Internet is working, our MJ is working. We have the most basic of service, but I know there are a ton of add-ones you can get with MJ (like forwarding calls to your cell).

  14. Stacey

My family loves Ting! We’ve been customers for a year and a half, have 4 smartphones, and we too hit about $87 a month (sometimes less). I have always had friendly experiences with customer service when I have needed to talk with a person, but honestly, you can do so much with your own account online that I haven’t had to call often. We even activate/deactivate our own phones when we switch. The Sprint and Verizon networks are great in our area, so coverage isn’t an issue. Though we are more aware of our usage, we haven’t made changes. WiFi at home (and family members’ homes!) helps with that. If you do sign up and would like to use a referral link, my family’s is https://zeg1gt10nk4.ting.com/. Thanks!

    • Stacey

I just checked — apparently our average monthly bill is $78.39 for 4 iPhones 🙂

  15. Patrcia

I have a an android sprint phone does it have to be an iphone. I like my android phones.

  16. Patrcia

Collin you always know when I need help it seems. My contract was up and I was looking for another option and here you are with the solution. Thank you.

  17. eyez1998

Hum with all these great reviews I wanna switch just nervous ha. What about putting apps on phones can u do that also? Can I use my current t mobile phone?

    • culinaryrd

Tmobile is a different network – GSM – I believe you need a Sprint CDMA device. You can’t interchange the two.

      • eyez1998

        Thank u

  18. Bekah

Wow we pay an average of $257 a month for 4 iphones on Verizon (my parents are on our plan, my kids don’t have phones). This is so tempting but everyone I know who has Sprint says they have awful service…Seattle area. Anyone around here on Ting?

  19. Rosalia

Both myself and 13 year old daughter use Ting with no issues for the last 6 monthes and have absolutely no issues. On sprint our bill was on average 160 with taxes and extras now we pay no more that $88 including taxes. I love it and the dashboard is awesome. Ting’s website is also fantastic allowing you to control and edit each phone’s usage. Example…when my girl was punished i went to Ting site and edited her phone to only be able to call out where I could see exactly she called using the Ting site or app. She could not recieve calsl, text, or connect to wifi, no data….
Anyhow, i’m in the Houston area and can say that if you have good Sprint service (which i did) then you should have good Ting service… We both have a Note2.
Here is my referral link if you decide to give it a try:)

    https://z887ba21qr5.ting.com/

btw, the customer service is truely amazing!

    • Happymama

I love that you can control calls on your teen’s phone! My son has epilepsy and I hate to take his phone (he has an alarm on his phone for meds) when he’s grounded, but I want to stay consistent in his punishment. This sounds perfect!

  20. Beverly

If you are interested in Ting, which runs on the Sprint Network, then you should also look at RingPlus.net which runs on the Sprint Network. I’m using Verizon since my cell phone is my only phone and I need reliability. But my teenage son uses RingPlus. I bought him a Samsung Galaxy S3 on Ebay and I pay for the Kate plan, which costs a whopping 😉 $2/month + tax + data usage. He uses Google Voice in conjunction with Hangouts to get unlimited free texting (requires wifi or data). Since he is mostly in places with wifi (home and school), his data usage is very low. Just be sure to check out Sprint’s coverage map to make sure that you have decent voice AND data coverage before investing in a phone that works on either Ting or Ringplus.net

    • sarah

Thanks for the info Beverly, we currently use Ting and are happy with it. I looked at ringplus and it looks like it might be even less expensive! I also have a daughter who will be wanting her own phone soon, so this might be a good option for her.

  21. Carissa

Also, check our Republic Wireless. It still uses the Sprint Network, but it has unlimited talk/text & data on the Sprint Network for $25. 25mb is the max data on roaming, though. I have the plan with no data (only wireless) and I only pay $12/month.

  22. jean

I signed up with Collins link last time this was posted. We love Ting! It has saved us hundreds of dollars this year alone. Heres are referral if you want to sign up and get the credit.
    https://zjtqph2fkk6.ting.com/

  23. Patrcia

Well since I already have a phone and no contract and ting has no contract I think I will try it for a month. Sounds like a win win. Thanks for the referrals.

  24. Emily

I know Freedom Wireless let’s you tap into Verizon’s network if you’re in an area that doesn’t use their carrier network (I think they use Sprint as well.) anyone know if Ting does this also?

    • Emily

Sorry I meant Republic Wireless! Freedom Wireless isn’t even a real company. Haha as you can tell I’m seeking freedom from my Verizon cell phone! They are way too expensive!

  25. Courtney

Just moved from Verizon to cricket. We got blue studio 5.0 c HD phones which are generic but have the same specs as a Samsung galaxy which are about $120 and are unlocked to any carrier on the gsm network. Were paying $50 for each line with a $10 credit for having two lines and a $5 credit for auto pay. Unlimited minutes, unlimited texting and over 3gb data high speed and I believe unlimited after that. So total with Verizon was around $160. With cricket we are spending $85 which includes all taxes and fees. That’s half the price!!!!

  26. luv

This might be out of place but if anyone is looking for a cheap but touchscreen phone for Tmobile theres a Nokia Lumia 530 on sale for $34.99..the listing price is 69.994…I price checked at target and used my redcard to save 5%. My mom still has those old flip phones so this will be a starter upgrade for her. 🙂

  27. sarah

We switched to ting about 6 months ago and love it! We pay on average $22+tax a month for two smart phones! My husband and I each started our accounts separately, so we could both get the referral credits. He opened his first, and then referred me so for the several months we paid nothing out of pocket since we had enough credit to cover our bill! After a few months we merged our accounts, and the customer service was great! If anyone is interested here’s my link:

    https://zb1e3h2bji6.ting.com/

  28. Rachel

I Also have ting and love it! I was soooooo skeptical about switching from Verizon but our bill is only $52 a month for 2 iPhones! Before we were paying almost $100 for 2 regular phones without data! They have amazing customer service and I talk to real people every time I call and never have to waits on hold. I also think th service is great and have never had issues here in MN. I never post referral links but you can get a credit if you go through someone’s link so here is mine if you are interested

  29. Tiffany

I use a company called republic wireless and love it!! Don’t know about this company!

  30. Mrs. Frugal

This company is great! We have been saving tons of money since we switched to ting & the customer service is great :). Pleas consider signing up through my link, you will also receive a credit if you are a new customer. https://z59tae2gfa6.ting.com/

  31. caro

thanks so much collin and everyone! i learn so much from these comments. i was using verizon last year for $60 a month 700min, pay per text, crummy phone.then i heard about AIO around JAN14.i did change and now its $40 a month.i was happy with the phone until they (AIO) were bought over by Cricket and the phone turned crummy overnight. employees gave me sad looks and told me i should upgrade my phone to their G4whatever. i was not happy.so now i feel like i have a few options.good luck to all!

  32. Evette

Also if anyone is charged an early termination fee Ting will pay 50% of it up to $150 until jan 5th!

  33. Selena

If anyone is still looking to switch over, I’d appreciate if you used my referral link! I just switched over, but am loving it so far. As a college student, it is much more efficient to have a smart phone rather than carrying around both my phone and unactivated iPhone (which I used as an iPod to iMessage people). I have my data switched off and am not planning to use it, but it’s a nice option to have just in case. This makes my monthly bill only $12-15! https://z1ghra3fns8.ting.com/

  34. Siv

Ting is offering an incredible $100 off a phone or as Ting credit for new users & $50 to me for referring you (until 6/8/2015)! Here’s my link:
    https://z3ccrn2ss77.ting.com/

  35. Charlie

Hi all, we signed up with a referral code too and no problems with Ting so far. call quality is not spectacular but may just be my reception.

feel free to use my referral link for the $100 credit: https://zk1i3e37m59.ting.com
this will also give my wife and I $50 of credit on our account. thanks in advance!
