  2. julie

Both my sil and I got the email. Too much work. I think in 35 years, I’ve bought something from them once.

I am truly astonished at the greed and gall of not just some people, but SO many people who think this company should give them 60 free $10 gift cards (valued at $600!!! PER PERSON!!!!). Those who are stating that Victoria’s Secret “changed” the rules and they saw the original rules……Collin has a screen shot of the original post as well and it clearly states that it is ONE entry per email address. All the mega deal websites out there have the same form from day one posted on their site. Sadly, I’m sure many people made up multiple disposable emails to get excessive entries but those who thought they could just spend 20 minutes sitting on their computer and get $600 worth of free stuff simply didn’t read the rules and got greedy. Saying this is a huge company is shifting the blame and seriously….think about it…..14 million requests at $10 each! That could seriously send even a huge company into financial distress. They don’t owe you anything! GIVING you one free card by email and one by mail is very generous! Take your $20 and be grateful! I didn’t even know about the mail option so I’m only getting the email one (in addition to the ones I got from actually making a purchase….novel thought) and I’m actually grateful for the one! A company giving me $10 off of a $10 purchase is awesome and something they don’t have to do! This is truly disheartening to see the greed. It’s a sad example of the entitlement society we have become. I’ve never posted a negative comment like this before on any website but these comments are just ridiculous. To hear someone say, “Why should I have to think about other people?” is astonishing to me. Seriously sad.

Now let all the attacks back at me begin……. πŸ™‚

You’ve got some time on your hands. You should publish your own book. Lol!

      • s

Lol agreed about the book. Hehe.

    • Casey

I totally agree! It is greed that ruins many good deals for everyone else. I remember that someone made a bunch of emails to get (~60) free $5 dominos giftcards and turned around and tried to sell them! If she wasn’t so greedy 59 other people could have got in the deal before it closed.

      • Brenna

Agreed Casey! It’s people like this that will kill the deal for others and I wouldn’t be surprised if VS decides not to give any free cards next year without a purchase.

    • Autumn

Unlike the snarky comment from the Autumn above me, I completely agree with your post. Situations like these sadden me. Our society has become very unethical in the pursuit of “Hot Deals”. I don’t know how many times I miss out on a deal completely, even if I’m among the first to see it, because of people using multiple emails and accounts (IE: “My hubby got 5, and I got 3!” Er, you’re the same household aren’t you?!) to score more than they should. It’s not fair. It is, however, incredibly greedy and selfish. I understand people want to save money and cash in on these free offers, but that doesn’t mean they are entitled to bend the system and ruin it for everyone else. Just my two cents. =\

    • Dayna

Brenna, Casey, and Autumn-2 you guys took the words right out of my mouth! trying to cheat the system for giveaways and deals is distasteful at best. I think its obnoxious when people create multiple accounts for the sole purpose of obtaining things they really shouldn’t be getting. Its basically stealing and yes it is illegal. (im not a lawyer but I am a law student, so I do know a thing or two about legal matters). If a company lays out rules for a promotion, and its obvious people are scamming it, eventually they will discontinue the promotion so people who do this are ruining it for everyone else. But its not just that, most of us on deal sites and coupon blogs are following for a reason…our families are struggling financially. If you snag two freebies/deals when the rules state one per person/email/household you aren’t just ripping off a company, you are taking away from someone else who may really need the deal. I find it extra insulting when people brag about cheating the system with things like “yay, I got 3 because I have extra email accounts,” it makes people who couldn’t get one feel like crap. Stealing extra deals doesn’t make you a better at couponing, it only makes you greedy, and ruins it for everyone else.

    • T Miller

I agree also. It is because of greedy people that the grocery stores (all 3) in the town nearest to me, no longer take coupons. They say they do but you basically have to pull teeth to get them to take any coupons. One cashier told me that they were trained to believe no one could be trusted; that there was just too much fraud.

    • Sara

Sorry that you did get a couple of rude comments Brenna…I agree with what you said

    • Mary

The reason they have it set up this way is because it is a sweepstakes this year. It is a legal thing. As far as the mail codes go… They set the rules. If someone did take the time to sent out a letter with there requirements then they should get a card/email like the rules stated. Otherwise, they should have made different rules and requirements.

  4. Melissa

I trird this but couldn’t get past the security thing. I could read it if my life depended on it. How did y’all get past it?

  5. Tia

Victoria’s Secret has a document online that’s about 3-4 pages long with all the official rules. In it they mention that you can email them for a no purchase required secret reward and the email we used is on there.
Moral of the story- when you’re skeptical about something, Google it.

  6. Jeanette

Very well put Dayna! It’s very sad to see how upset people are getting about free gift cards, especially when they are not getting more then one. I can’t believe how negative others could be during a time of year where we’re suppose to be grateful and thankful.

  14. Jackie

  15. SunL

if you sent them an email earlier to request a code, they will send you a confirmation email directing you to a link where you will complete your personal information… you have to input your name, bday, address, phone numbers, etc. If you gave them your information via the link they sent you, expect an email from them. They sent me and a couple of friends a few codes each.
