Unfortunately, these are awful carriers. They’re terrible for a baby’s hips, especially forward facing & will cause a lot of back pain for the wearer because they’re not ergonomical. I’d spend the extra money on a quality carrier like an Ergo or Lillebaby (I prefer Lillebaby because no infant insert is needed & great back support).
Agreed
Was going to say the same!
Glad someone mentioned how awful these carriers are!
Thank you A , Erin, Briana and Kat for your reviews. I am looking to get a carrier for my second one.Do you have any suggestions about where to buy a good carrier for a decent price? TIA
Far from affordable, but I love my Tula!
I love Tula!!
I got a good deal on a return on froggymama. You can also rent carriers to try some out if you aren’t sure what is best for you (I had trouble being super short)
Hoping to get a tula for Christmas but we have an ergo and love it!
Check out Frogmama.com. She oftentimes has barely used carriers and can do layaway type payment plans. Quality carriers are definitely pricey but they do carry our most precious cargo. =)
Paxbaby.com also does payment plans & offers gently used carriers.
Baby K’tan for a newborn but Ergo for when they get older!
Echoing A and the others! Ergo is my best friend, and is the single best money I’ve ever spent on a baby product. I rarely ever use a stroller because the Ergo is so much more convenient and more importantly, baby is happier, and I can breastfeed easily in it! My husband uses it too. Worth every last penny and then some. If Ergo and the like are out of the budget or you just don’t want to spent the money (but it is so worth it if you can!), I would recommend a Mei Tai – I have one of those I got for about $25!
I love the Mei Tai! I use it all the time for going to the grocery and shopping, so easy to put on and my baby loves it. I actually love it more than my Ergo.
Sometimes you find a good deal for lillibaby on zulily. I got mine for $56 last year.
Also, thank you for the comments mentioning Lillebaby and Tula, I’ll check them out! I love babywearing!
Also look at Beco Gemini!
Awesome, I will, thank you! Are any of these better than the other for a bigger baby? My daughter just turned a year old and was in 95% percentile (breastmilk!) the last we checked. My husband and I switch off wearing her when we’re out together because of her weight, and he has back issues and can only wear her for short periods and therefore can’t give me much relief, so anything that distributes the weight really well would help! Ergo does a good job, I love it, but I do eventually start hurting after a couple of hours. Is there anything that would work better than the Ergo for a bigger baby?
I loved boba 3G,now4g, for my 98 percentile babies! The back is higher than the ergo and it has leg stirrups to help keep babies legs from dangling. I find it to be very very comfortable. Also found mine from frog mama on sale. Sometime u can email her and ask if she has any stock that is returned that she’d like to sell at a discount. She’s very friendly! My boba was like $75.
Personally I want a Kinder pack! Very wide straps. Toddler carriers exist for once baby is wearing 2T. Try looking for baby wearing groups in your area so you can try things on before buying!
Both Tula and Kinderpack have sized carriers instead of the “one-size fits most” carriers that don’t really fit larger kids. Plus, they both seem to hold their value pretty well. There are Tula and KP groups on FB where used carriers regularly sell at retail or higher!
ERGO for me!
I was going to say the same thing. Happy for all those little babes of responsible mommas who do their research. Here’s a good article as to why to avoid those carriers at all cost.

PS: ergo all the way for us!!
I liked mine from years ago. I don’t remember having problems, but I did have small babies. I tried the wraps and it didn’t work for me and I didn’t want to spend too much.
I liked mine too, for a small baby. When my son got older (over 4-5 months) it wasn’t very good. This time around I will use a Baby Bjorn at first and switch to an Ergo after a few months. I think the new Ergo 360 works well for both but it was a bit pricey. π

I agree, please do not buy this carrier! It is not comfortable for baby or adult long term. The Infantino Mei tai is budget friendly, and more ergonomic for baby! For more about baby wearing, look for a Facebook group in your area (like “so cal baby wearers” but use your city/area) and you should be able to fine mamas to help you find the right carrier.
I used the infant ion meitai and really found it to be comfortable. Wore baby girl in it until she was almost 30 lbs! Of course at the weight I preferred the boba on my back, but this worked well for quick trips.
I used a Bjorn for my first baby (found second hand for $3), and it seemed to be OK, but now I just feel lucky we didn’t have any complications! For second baby, we got an Ergo when they were half price (about $60, boring plain tan color, but that’s OK for the price) at REI this past summer. Learned of the sale through Hip2Save of course. My sister is a doctor and she swears by the Ergo over Baby Bjorn design.
We love our bjorn active. And I had and hated an ergo. For what it’s worth.
Ergo is the easiest most mainstream of SSC’s, hence their popularity. Just do your research 1st. I personally prefer the Beco Butterfly. I’m petite & it fit much better on me than the Ergo. It also has an internal harness as an added safety feature so even if the waist clip was to release, my baby would still be secured. The harness also allows for an easier back carry for those who find it difficult to get baby on the back alone.
I use both the maya wrap and ergo for all three kiddos! Carriers rock!
I loved the Baby K’Tan when my baby was a newborn (up to about 15 lbs), but if you get one I would order at least one size smaller than what they recommend because I’ve read they run big and it was true for me. Now that he’s bigger I love my Tula! The Ergo is good too!
