TJ Maxx: American Girl Honey and Coconut Pet Sets Only $14.99!?
Check out the following email I received from Hip2Save reader, Jaimie –

I decided to run over to my local TJ Maxx here in Boise, ID and also spotted the same Honey & Coconut Pet Sets (they come with 1 dog and 1 collar) on sale for $14.99! These sets are both sold out on the American Girl Store and regularly sell for $22, so this seems like a nice discount if you’re able to find them at your store!

Yes, these were at the TJ Maxx in Snellville, GA. There were at least 2 of them.

Can anyone get them in pa? I just called our local store and they said they don’t have them. However, it’s said that the workers don’t really even take the time to look.
You obviously have never worked at these stores. We are woefully understaffed and people calling about a product usually get a part time teenager who wouldn’t know their right hand from their left looking for an item. Customers who actually come into the store are the priority not people who see these posts and call.

I’m sure there are many friendly teenagers and general staff that do their job accurately and are intelligent. It’s offensive to generalize.
If you don’t think potential customer calls are important then you’re the one not taking your job seriously.
I have not worked at these stores, but I understand your point completely, Renee. It kills me that people call around for deals and get mad when the employees are wrong about the availability of merchandise or “lie” about it (and, yes, I’ve actually seen such claims in posts). If a deal is so important to you, go. . . . But don’t complain that you *had* to wake your three napping children and drag them out during a blizzard and the store didn’t have/honor the needle-in-a-haystack deal you were looking for. . . .
I apologize for my statement. There are some great workers who go above and beyond to do their job. I would have liked to be on the lucky side of things and get a deal that would help 2 on my Christmas list.
Actually, I work part-time at Marshalls and I take calls frequently and do look for the merchandise. TJ Maxx and Marshalls receive shipments daily this time of year so you might want to keep checking back. We did receive some of these at my store this week.
I did see them in a store in lebanon, pa about a month again. I also got some puffy stickers & notecard kind of crafts & stickers on clearance 1.00 to .70 cents, picked up for stocking stuffers.
Just saw them today in the Homegoods/Marshalls in Glen Mills, PA. No leash, just opened it the box and saw a dog.

Where’s the best place to sell American girl dolls and bitty babies? My daughter barely played with them. Plus we a boat load of clothes for them.

Fyi – the newer pets at the store have fun magnetic bones and things that attach to their mouths.
I found Meatloaf in Williamsburg,VA last month. These are retired versions of AG dogs. American Girl recently re-did their pet line. Its a great way to get AG dogs at a better price!

New Bern, NC had Coconut and Meatloaf. I didn’t buy as these were $10 at the AG store earlier in the year, but at least you don’t have to pay shipping from TJ Maxx. Also, AG has had daily sales everyday this week – some of the items are even cheaper than they were during the Cyber Monday sale.

I found a brand new Pepper dog by AG at Value Village store for $2! That was the best deal ever. 🙂
Costco sells lots of AG sets: dog/cat sets, bitty baby sets, and some AG craft sets. Plus in a book section they have mini dolls with 3-4 books and one accessory.
Prices are lower then in AG store.
Home Goods on Cape Cod has them for only $12.99 🙂
