NOTE – Target will price match an item on many sites (including Amazon.com and Walmart.com!) – you’ll just need to show the price on your mobile device or bring in a printed page showing the current price. Before you head out, be sure to print the Price Matching Policy and keep it with you when shopping. And YES, you can use manufacturer’s coupons in addition to getting the price match. See all the details in the Target’s Price Matching Policy OR check out the Walmart Price Match Policy HERE.

Will the Walmart price still be $7.44 tomorrow? I want to price match coupon at Target!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I am not positive if it will stay this low, but hopefully it is still this price tomorrow!

      • julie sanches

Thanks so much Collin! We just got a huge tax bill that is cutting into our Christmas budget big time and these are great gifts at such low prices.

    • julie

Its showing the Hippo game is $13.51 at Walmart and $12.99 at Target.

  2. Tiffany

I cant find the coupon. I clicked on the link but its not showing that one. I even looked on coupons.com and googled it.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      It’s on this link – https://www.hasbrorewards.com/coupons

The coupon states “SAVE $5.00 when you buy any one (1) HUNGRY HUNGRY HIPPOS or ELEFUN & FRIENDS game from Hasbro!

      Hope that helps!

      • Tiffany

I keep looking but that one is not showing. I dont see how I could be doing it wrong. Ive been waiting for this game too!

      • Tiffany

Oh i think its because im on a phone and ipad. I have to do it from a desktop right… Thanks for your quick response!! I love your site, am new to it. Its fantastic and i have gotten a ton of great deals in the past fee days. Thank you 🙂

        • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

The Target I went to today would not honor the price of $7.44 which I showed from my phone. The price must have gone up today. It is Target’s policy to pull up all items through their iPads for price matching, and it had to be exactly the same item #. I then went to Walmart to pick-up my item which I bought online, and they attempted to return so they could apply the coupon. However, they could not scan the coupon I printed from the web-site, and they aren’t allowed to manually discount the item either. They said because the price was already at reduced price, they could not lower the price even more. My mission was a total failure. Don’t know if it is worth it to try going to another Target. Any ideas why my coupon printout can’t be scanned?

  3. julie

Does Walmart have it in their coupon/price match policy that they will price match their website? We have been told repeatedly (and at different walmarts) that Walmart stores do match Walmart.com prices. And they also told us they don’t price match their own ads (which really means they don’t honor their own print ad prices….which is ludicrous!).

    • Sab

When I see coupons this great I order from walmart and pick up the item at the store. They will then credit the coupons value back to my credit card.

    • Christi

Walmart will price match their website in stores, but only if the item is currently in stock. Looks like the game is sold out online, so I don’t think this will work in stores!

      • b

My walmart said they do not price match their own website, everything online is always cheaper!

    • Shari

It states right in the NEW price match policy in the link provided by hip2save above….
Right under where it says,The following are guidelines and limitations:

The prices on Walmart.com and online retailers * will be matched

      I think they are confuse because this recently changed with the Amazon Price match thing! So if they say no just show the policy from your phone and remind them it was recently undated/changed! :}

      • Shari

Oh I forgot… to my knowledge they DO NOT match their own store to store prices. Its because some store don’t sell as good as others so they will clearance it! They for SURE do walmart.com tho!!! As long as its the online price!

  4. Valli

I work at Target. You don’t really have to waste the ink and paper to print because we have to verify the price on our iPads. It would have to be in stock and if you are price matching with Amazon, it has to be in stock, and sold and shipped by Amazon. If you are price matching this with Walmart it also has to be in stock. Colin, with all due respect, you can tell people to print the price match policy but you should also be telling people to read it.

    • Jennifer

I price matched the other day and tried to use a cartwheel on top of that. I was denied. I wonder why you can use manu coupons and not cartwheel?

      • Erin

Because Cartwheel is a store promo, not a manufacturer promo, so Target won’t be reimbursed.

      • Ashley

I was denied to use a manufacturers coupon at Target while price matching Amazon. They told me I can’t price match and use a coupon. I said ok, but it was a $4 coupon!! I will fight next time.

    • Princess

@Valli, yes whenever I’m at customer service for price match they always verify it via their iPad even when I try and show them on my phone. I asked them why and they informed me it’s their policy.

    • Jennifer

@valli the Target Price Match policy says to bring in proof of price either on moble device or printed page. From policy
For matching Target.com or online competitors, the retail price must be shown on your mobile device or by bringing in a printed page showing the current price. Online competitor pricing must be validated by a Target team member

      • Jennifer

Also I think “see all details” implys that one should read policy.

    • NH

Valli, with all due respect the item was in stock when she posted the deal so therefore she wasn’t violating your policy. Now that it is out of stock people will need to get the deal a different way. I believe most understand this if they have read Target’s policy. No need to be rude or snippy during the holiday season.

    • meg

With all due respect? Aren’t you a ray of sunshine.

  5. Marie

I actually bought this game for $5 the other day using the coupon and the game was on sale 9.99 at Kmart. I am also under the impression that Walmart does not match their own online prices
“The merchandise and prices available on our website do not reflect the merchandise and prices available in our stores. Currently, we do not have access to store inventory lists or price lists at this website. Please contact your local Walmart store manager for more information and availability.”

They do price match other online retailers when you buy online, but they have separate policies for in store vs online and the two aren’t interchangable

    • Bobbi

Wal-Mart didn’t match their own website until they came out with their new price matching policy recently. Their new policy states, “The prices on Walmart.com and online retailers * will be matched.”

    • Shari

I got this at Kmart the other day too when it was $9.99 – the $5 coupon. I thought I hit the jackpot then! LOL Tonight I got 2 of them for $2.44 each a toys r us! Toys r us seems to be the most Price match Friendly in my area FOR SURE!!! 🙂 I want to return or get store credit for my kmart purchase but I used a $10 points/$30 kmart mobile q! I just KNOW my points will get messed up even if I exchange it with something! Boooooo!

Walmart DOES Price match Walmart.com now that they new policy came out! It states in the new policy… The following are guidelines and limitations: The prices on Walmart.com and online retailers * will be matched/ I think they are confused since it did JUST change not long ago! 🙂 However to my knowledge sometimes there are 2 diff prices under the same item one states online price and one states store price. It must be the ONLINE price! GOODLUCK deal hunting everyone!!!!

      • Shari

Check out my magical mermaids too!! They are still in stock to price match! I got mine at Toys r us! ONLY $3!!! Regular $12 Or they have the whole set with tank for I think $8!!! YAY!!

        • Elaine

          How Shari?

  6. Holly

I don’t see the coupon either. I also looked on coupons.com and googled it

    • Tiffany

Hey holly i had the same problem. Until i got on a desktop computer then i fpund it at the hasbro site. It wont show on an ipad or phone

  7. Brittany

This item is now out of stock online. You can’t price match at either store if the item isn’t in stock.

  8. diane

buy it online and pick up in store .that option is still available I just bought some.and when I pick up in store I will give coupon.

    • Tiffany

It doesnt give me that option 🙁

  9. Liz

Thanks for posting the price matching policy. The associate at Target was quite rude and insistent that I could not using any coupons and that it was one or the other. She told me to get out of line and read the sign. I told her that I read the policy and had it pulled up on my iPhone. She then blamed Target for changing the sign but not notifying her. If I wasn’t informed, I would have missed out on the deal. Thank you!

  10. Melissa

My target wouldn’t let me use a coupon if I was price matching. And they also had to look it up on there own iPads.

  11. Brindha

I just ordered it to pick up instore at my walmart. Planning to get refunded for my coupon amt at customer service tomm.

  12. Ekta

My Walmart did price match and got travel size hungry hippo free with it. Awesome deal….thank you so much.

  13. ashakes

Thank you, just went and got this super deal!!!

  14. Tiffany

I kept checking it and now i can get it shipped to store. If i buy it online now, when i pick it up can i then give them the coupon and get the refund ?

  15. Judy Trac

Walmart won’t let me PM and use coupons

    • Tiffany

Idk about anyone else but i have no problem politely & respectfully “fighting” w the usually rude store associates about coupons & deals. Especially if they dont know their own policy, or if their policy clearly doesnt state a specific such as price match + coupons. & I have to say, especially at walmart, they hardly ever give me a problem honoring anything. If they refuse &/or are rude, asking for a manager usually gets it without having to, if that makes sense.

  16. Kelly

I found this in Walmart’s coupon policy: “Coupons for items purchased online cannot be used at the store”
So if you purchase for $7.44 and have it shipped to store, expect to pay $7.44.

  17. Christie

This game isn’t even worth $2. The hippos get stuck constantly, the heads don’t chomp and the plastic marbles don’t roll around. When my kids play it they just complain the whole time that it doesn’t work. It’s too bad because it was fun in the 80s.

  18. Barbara

My Target was out but Toys R Us had it and they price match too. They made me refresh my phone because they couldn’t believe it was that cheap with the coupon. Thanks Collin!

  19. jennifer

Target near me will not allow a price match and a coupon.ever.

  20. Gina

Darn. Waited to long. Price is back up 🙁

  21. Autumn

    Dead deal.

  22. Jeremy

Just keep the webpage on your phone of walmart.com sale price of $7.44 and do not refresh it and show it to the cashier. It worked for me this morning.

  23. Kim

I think the price changed i see it at 13.51! Ugh! Anybody?

    • Vivienne

The price went up for me too!

  24. gaby

The CHUTES AND LADDER GAMES is @ $4.77 and I believe there is a coupon for this game.

  25. Melissa

Went to target just now & Walmart online price was $13.49 they said — it’s only $12.49 on target.com & they will price match that . (They are having a BOGO deal on games today though!!)

  26. Jessica B.

Colin, I scored an AWESOME DEAL on this today…first i price matched the Hungry hippos at Target…then used the $5 coupon making it $2.44…then i saw they had the B2G1 free on board games going on so i bought the Trouble Game which was on sale for $7.99, used the $2 off coupon from coupons.com, and THEN got the Frozen Match game for free!! I also got The Littlest Pet Shops Pawsabilities pack…there was a B1G1 free coupon for that too, and they were on sale for $4.64 at my target…sooo my total for all 5 items was $13.91!!!!=D
