Sent from reader, Mary:

We go through a ton of puffs containers at my house. Over the summer, I always felt bad throwing them away and decided to save them for holiday treat containers. For only a few dollars, I picked up some craft supplies and spent the morning turning them into snowmen with my 1 1/2 and 3 year old.

Now we have festive containers to fill with caramel corn, Chex mix, or other goodies as we visit friends and family this holiday season. What a great and frugal gift my little ones can share with others.

HAPPY FRIDAY! 😀

So adorable. I have a container sitting on my kitchen counter that I was taking to recycling tomorrow. Thank you for the great project. I know what I am doing tomorrow during nap time.

This is a cute idea but you could also store other things in them. Some other things are small snacks or craft supplies.

Fabulous idea! I, too, do not like adding to landfills if the item can not be recycled. Such creativity! And you are sending a message to your children that they can take something seemingly useless and make it useful. Hats off to you and your “crew.”

I think Coffeemate containers would create a similar result. Also POM juice containers might make cute Snowwomen as they are more shapely.

  32. terri

I think you can recycle those, so you don’t have to throw them away if you don’t do the craft.

Your idea is absolutely adorable, and the fact that both of your children participated is just really a wonderful thing to do. You are making memories and they are priceless!
And thanks to the rest of you for your ideas on other things. I, too, am usually not too creative myself, so the fact that I can just Google an item that I’m sure could be used for something is a wonderful idea. Love the way Collin shares and likewise how ideas are shared on her site as well. Hip2Save is the place 2B!!!
