They are the best pears by far. They always taste great and are the right softness and texture. Sooo worth it. My husband buys me a box every year for Christmas. The living social deal is for the Mavericks. A lesser quality. Plus it does not include shipping which makes them about $21.

yes they are! I bought my Dad a fruit of the month membership one year and one of the shipments arrived in not so great condition/overripe (I forget the exact problem). He called and they immediately sent him another shipment! While I probably wouldn’t buy myself a box of these pears to snack on every week, I think they make a really nice gift! (especially for someone you have no idea what else to get lol)

thanks collin, ordered them from your posting. i disagree with the nay-sayers on here. first off, when i end of purchasing pears at either a fancy grocer or a chain, my pears end up every time in the garbage. they never ever seem to ripen. i’ve yet to have a juicy pear in years. i feel this is a good deal and i’ll explain. harry and david backs it up with a wonderful warranty. 100% satisfaction.
i would rather spend a bit more and get a quality product, then end up with pears that always seem to end up in the garbage. and there goes money down the drain. or in my case the garbage. lol

I agree to an extent. I LOVED H&D pears for many years. Cant say ive ever had any from the grocery that didnt end up in the garbage. However, the last 2 or 3 times i got h&d pears, i was highly disappointed cuz the quality just wasnt there. But like u said, they gladly replaced them for free. I still am disappointed that they just arent like they used to be. I will keep trying tho…maybe theyll get better.

I love Harry & David’s Royal Riviera pears! They are so delicious & so worth it! My kids always ask me to buy these if I see a deal! I buy them each Christmas for my MOM & DAD! Much better than sweets! Yes, they are pricey but worth it as a special treat!

I did the living social deal ($11 for the voucher) plus 8.95 shipping, so same total as listed in this deal. I have gotten the maverick pears before and they seemed to be of the exact same quality as the rest of their pears. I was very pleased with them. These pears are a bit pricey but definitely worth every penny for a nice treat!
I tried going through ebates for 3.5% back, but the price kept showing up as $29! I couldn’t get the price down to $19.95 unless I went through Collin’s link. So weird! I haven’t had that happen before…

In my experience, in general takes a few days after receiving them for the pears to be ripe.
