How great! Just this morning my husband said we should find something like this to make potty trips less of a chore for our four year old.
Perfect timing! ๐
So I have a question, I am a single mom that potty trained my son to sit to go pee. Am I wrong? Should I be showing him how to pee standing up? He just turned 4 and has an older sis… TIA
Mine sit to pee, nothing wrong w it. No point to lift the seat up and down coz it’s just his sisters and mom in the house, dad hardly comes home from work.
You are not wrong. Might want to teach him to stand before he starts school. ๐
When i potty trained my son he started out ‘sitting down’ when he goes to potty then transitioned him into ‘standing position’ later on when his comfortable going to the bathroom ๐
I also taught my son (now 5) to go sitting down. Then, when he was about 4 1/2, we were in a public restroom that didn’t look all that clean, so I just casually said “Let me show you another way boys can use the toilet”. He seemed fascinated! I didn’t say anything after that because I wanted to let him choose what was comfortable for him (he has 2 sisters and Dad was in the hospital long-term, so he never saw anyone stand up). Well, he chose to stand up after that—-never once went back to sitting (except “big jobs”). He’s doing great, but I do think a “target decal” would be a good idea for him… ๐
Thank you so much for all your responses! Glad to know I wasn’t the only one ๐
I’m hoping this will help my 3 year old poop in the potty. He pees in the potty… Pooping is another story!
Oh my goodness, Yes! Could this be the answer to my prayers? I’m about to find out. Now to just make the stickers glow in the dark so my son has something to point at when he goes potty at night ๐
I need the put me down one for my husband.
๐so true
Since I don’t raise the seat after I ‘m done, I don’t see any point for him to put the seat down when he’s done.
Hear – Hear! I agree with you – I do see the point just not the requirement.
I say the same thing to my husband. I feel like if I sit down without checking and fall in the toilet, that is my fault. I have found that with my husband, but more so with my son, if I yelled for not putting the seat back down, they would just leave it down and try to pee. After I sat in pee a few times, we re-evaluated the situation lol
Everyone in my house, guys & girls, put the lid down after going & before flushing. That way you don’t get potty water misting anywhere when flushing. Yuck! And this way it’s equal & we don’t get into the you need to put the seat down or you shod have to put it up argument;)
We do the same, B. I’m actually very surprised more people don’t. Also, it looks a lot nicer with the lid down.
I prefer it that way too!!
Yes! We do the same thing! And also our dog can’t drink from it! Yuk!!!
Yes!!! I taught my boys this. Especially because they tend to leave their toothbrushes on the counter. Eww lol
Ironic isn’t it that the “HIT THE TARGET” decal is shown with the toilet seat down. Wouldn’t we rather see the toilet seat up? I mean that if you don’t “HIT THE TARGET” isn’t it better to know for sure he didn’t “HIT THE SEAT”?
LOL
Thank you, Collin!! I almost fell in the toilet the other night thanks to my hubs. lol!
LOL! ๐
How well do these decals work when you have to clean the toilet or the potty seat?
Good luck with boys hitting the target! Mine are 13 and 14 and still dribble! Very aggrivating
I hear ya!
I have both of these decals in my kid’s bathroom and they not only serve to remind him but are also funny. I also have a “bathroom rules” decal on the wall that reminds them to turn off the light, etc. Good stuff!
