Love this! I always make pink heart shaped pancakes for Valentines. Would be nice to make pink waffles.

Hm, I find it hard to believe that waffle batter will flow in any direction other than a circle… unless you don’t mind runoff. My rectangular Krupps belgian waffle maker works great but it never forms rectangle waffles, more like jagged edges flowing into a circular shape.

unlike typical waffle batter, the waffle batter meant for these Scandinavian style waffles is thinner and “runnier” Here is the recipe we have always used from our Swedish cookbook:
      5 dl water
      4 dl milk
      7 dl flour
      2 hg melted butter
      4 tsp baking powder
      2 eggs

      Hope this helps πŸ™‚
also, just like in the pic, serve with fresh fruit or jelly, and whipped cream (not syrup)
a childhood favorite way of eating it was to put butter on it, fresh from the waffle maker and then sprinkle sugar… so good!

how much are dl and hg? Thanks for you help.

a hectogram is 100 grams and a stick of butter is 113 grams, so about 1 3/4 sticks melted butter and a deciliter is 1/2 a cup… you can always find conversion charts online or what i think is easier is use the ml section on the measuring cup (100 ml= 1 dl) because most measuring cups show, cups, oz, and ml measurements… for instance, if you need 5 dl of water, i would measure 500 ml of water in my measuring cup… hope that helps πŸ™‚

I have a heart shaped waffle iron (similar to this one) and it does indeed make heart shaped waffles. I use the recipe for waffles in the classic Better Homes & Garden Cookbook. I think you just have to make sure you fill it enough, but not too much. I have a ladle that is just the right amount for mine.

Now I want waffle iron. Thanks for sharing.
      God bless

Oh my goodness. Every waffle maker should use that video. I already own a waffle maker and I’m thinking maybe we could use a heart shaped one too now that I know we can make so much more than waffles with it. :). Thanks so much for sharing.

We use this waffle iron a lot and like it. The waffles seem to stick to the waffle iron so I do spray it with nonstick cooking spray.
