  It is very nice to have so you can “cast” you tube videos, Netflix, and videos from your pc to your TV screen. Plus you can use an app called Plex that shares movie, TV and music galleries between friends. Highly recommended! 😄

  I have one and love it. However, it does stream through your home wifi so you’ll need a reliable wifi connection. I use it with my iPad and have no issues. One of my coworkers has a Microsoft surface and she had to return hers because it didn’t work with the surface. Don’t know why but she’s pretty tech savvy.

  Yes. You download the chromecast app to any mobile device. From that mobile device you “cast” to your television by selecting a little tv icon that will show up inside the app (netflix, Hulu plus).

  Or just download the Netflix and cast from there. I never had to download chromcast on my phone.

  I could not get it to work from my phone (samsung galaxy 5) so im returning it. I don’t have internet at home.

  You can cast from your phone, but you need to have wifi for it to work.

   To all you getting this, try out DramaFever! I’m hooked on Kdramas. Start with Flower Boy Next Door and then try Rooftop Prince and you’ll be hooked! Korean dramas are short, 16 episodes usually which make them easy to watch for a quick pick me up. Imagine chic flicks mixed in with a little (less cheesy) soap opera style as 16 episodes. Too fun! 🙂

   I have an older TV (approximately 15 years old). What is required for the TV to work with Chromecast or am I out of luck?

  You need a USB port, and chances are, if your TV is not flat screen, it doesn’t have one.

   Can the chromecast be tranfserable between two tvs? I’ve been thinking about a non cable option for the bedroom, but I would be more likely to buy if I could use the same one for the bedroom and living room.

  Yep, you can unplug the device from one tv and install in another. My mom has one for her living room but when I bring my kids over, she lets them use it in another room.

   I am so glad I saw this post. I had searched online on Saturday for the best deals on the Chromecast. I ordered one from walmart.com. This morning I saw your post and I was able to cancel my othe order & get this one.
